Driving her friendly neighbors in her Volkswagen, Erica talks about Elizabeth’s plight with both Rebecca and Dolores. Despite their friends complains against adultery, the 3 ladies were convinced that Elizabeth would soon lose her willpower and give in to her desires.

Erica That Elizabeth…. She acts like some kind of nun. She has no idea what she’s missing.

Rebecca I feel sorry for her… Why would she still have faith in a man that doesn’t give a shit about her? She needs to awake up and live like a woman.

Dolores Maybe she doesn’t want it.

Erica That’s pure bullshit Dolores… She’s just pretending. Let me tell you something.. She will break.

Rebecca Absolutely… She will break especially since Luan is around. Oh that boy is dream boat.. For an African, he’s quite charming.

Erica Absolutely.. If he keeps up that act of his, Elizabeth will definitely sleep with him. I would love to be there to see that happen.

Dolores Well, let’s just wait and see. Only time can tell what’s going to happen.

The Circle of life is inevitable, it’s a natural order that can’t be unturned no matter what but there are times when Fate is seem to interfere into such matter.

After finding out that our most dedicated soldiers is a German spy, I was determined to expose his true identity but somehow the traitorous b–stard was 2 steps ahead of me and quickly realized what I was about to do.

We ended up fighting with each other after we realized each other’s plan, It was quite a brawl but I was gaining the upper hand, I could have won easily but my opponent had a dirty trick up his sleeve and wasted no time in using it on me.

Getting shot at felt like I was being crucified with red hot nails, I felt intense pain all over my body and I was certain that my life had come to an end but somehow Fate intervened and here I am now, well and alive.

Although, I was grateful to Luan and Marian, if it weren’t for these two, I wouldn’t have been alive by now. After Luan saved my neck from the German spy and brought me home, it was Marian that treated my wounds and nursed me back to health.

Raising these 2 siblings was the best decision I’ve ever made. After the parents died, nobody wanted them and they had to live on the streets to survive, I felt sorry for them and decided to take them in ; I wouldn’t consider myself a fatherly figure but I’ve done my best to bring them up the right way. The one I was most concerned about was Marian, In order to better her life, I decided to put her under the care of my late dear friend Mr. Williams and thanks to him, she was doing a lot better and growing into responsible young woman.

After spending 2 months in South Africa, Life became boring and there was nothing for me to do. I would have preferred to go back to war but thanks to this German spy I’m forced to hide like a rat. I was lucky to escape death for the first time and I don’t think I’ll escape it again if I show my face in public, Although that didn’t stop me from coming out to get some fresh air ; Since I was well known around here I decided to cover and disguise myself from public.

One afternoon, I was resting peacefully on my lawn chair stretching my legs when Marian appeared. She looked tired and was busy mumbling to herself about something.

Toby What’s wrong child? You look disturbed.

Marian Afternoon Mr. Toby.. You’re looking good.

Toby Of course.. I’m enjoying myself but you however are not. What’s bothering you?

Marian (sighs) It’s Luan sir… He’s overstepping his limits.

Toby That brother of yours is trouble maker as always.. What did he do this time?

Marian He’s obsessed about Mr. Williams daughter, Elizabeth.. He’s planning on romancing her.

Toby Mr. William’s daughter?? Is she the one in charge of the bee farm now?

Marian Yes… You should talk to Luan! He’s making a big mistake.

Toby What does Elizabeth say about your brother’s advances?

Marian Well,… Uh.. She hasn’t said anything.

Toby Well, if she’s not doing anything.. I’ll say your brother’s charms is working (laughs)

Marian This isn’t funny! You know the kind of society we leave in.

Toby Don’t worry… Besides there are many inter-racial couples around.

Marian (sighs) I can’t believe you’re supporting him.

Toby Stop worrying about your brother! Besides are you even seeing someone?

Marian I really don’t have time for that.

Toby Stop lying! I’m sure there are men that wanting to build a relationship with you. Something tells me you’re pushing them away.

Marian I’m having a better life at The Bee farm, it may be stressful but it has its perks. If I marry now, my life will be full of misery. Most of our men here only care about breeding and enjoying the pleasures of love making, I don’t want to marry a man that keep impregnating me every year and the worst part about all this is that we women have no say in this, if we try to complain or object what will follow after that is curses and beating.

Toby I get your point but you have to understand that this life you’re living won’t last … Nobody knows the future.. Besides I’m sure there are some men here in South Africa that can be suitable husbands for you. All you have to do is go around and find the right one.

Marian Thank you sir.. I’ll think about it.. Is there anything you would like to eat?

Toby No.. There’s no need for you to prepare anything.. I’m already full.

Marian Okay sir.. I’ll be inside. If you need anything, just call me.

Marian went back into the house and I stared after her as she went in. Honestly I have to say the girl is attractive and lovely ; Many African women are beautiful but it’s rare to see one so well beautiful and stunning in all directions like Marian. I do understand how she feels but she needs someone in her life that will take care of her.

Shortly after Marian was gone, I got a visit from an informant in our squadron, His name is Quincy Henderson and he’s my closest friend. Quincy and I have known each other for 20 years, we’ve fought side by side in the wars and we’ve managed to keep each other alive but in this second war, Quincy was now more of an informant than a soldier. He claimed that being an informant was much more exciting and profitable than fighting, he even urged me to become one but I refused.

While I was recuperating here in South Africa, I sent a letter to him to notify him of what had happened. He promised that he’d come see me but I never thought it take this long.

Toby That I am.. So how’s life as an informant?

Quincy Profitable as ever.. Although things are getting real tight this time around.. Hitler is scanning all this men for moles.. He’s been informed that spies are infiltrating his forces.

Toby Well, the Germans are also doing the same thing. So I see you’ve finally come.

Quincy Yes.. Sorry it took me this long.. Is it true what you said about our backstabbing traitor?

Toby It is… He’s been milking Intel from superiors for a while now.. He needs to be stopped.

Quincy Well, you’d better lay low.. Every thought you were dead and I’ve also taken time to find out about our traitorous friend and I found something interesting.

Quincy He’s married and his wife is here.

Quincy Yes… Do you know her? I would to pay her a visit and put a bullet in her head.. That should be a sweet revenge for what the pig did to you.

Toby No… No… No.. Don’t do that.. I know her.. She’s the daughter of my late friend. Oh God… Poor woman.

Toby I think there might be a way we could use this as our advantage.
