I arrived at the guest house and decided to call the guys number and surprisingly they picked up as if they were using the phone,

“Ahhh mommy you never sleep? The one who seem to me as the boss asked.

“I slept on the road without knowing o, I just arrived at the guest house now, I replied.

“Ahh how come? Where you been go? He asked and I told him what happened.

“Ohhhhhhh! You don fuck up na, why you go even comot make person recognize you na? Abi you wan take over the job from us? He asked.

“But he’s not a bad person na, I said.

“That one concern you but we no dey trust people anyhow when it comes to mission time. Just dey for your side make we do our job, we go lap there for morning so chill, the guy said.

“Okay no problem, good night, I said and dropped the call and heaved, then returned back to sleep.

It was very boring all day locked in the room because the guys told me not to go out and I kept calling their line to know if they have arrived but it was not reachable. I forced myself and had something to eat, took a shower and decided to rest but slept off without knowing. I heard my phone ringing and knew it must be the guys, and they were already in town. I dressed up and hopped into my car to see them, and they met me on the road.

“Welcome, I’ve been trying your number but its switch off what happened? I asked.

“You carry your bag? One asked ignoring my question.

“My bag? Why? I asked.

“Because you no go stay there again, we go be together, he replied.

“No wait I am very okay there I don’t need to be with you guys, I said.

“You go accept or not? No dey argue with us, one sternly said that I looked at them confused. Their eyes were red and I knew they must have taken something to make them high. But how am I going to stay with guys I barely know? What if they take their drugs and unknowingly harm me? I wondered and one of the guys smiled at me ad if he was reading my thoughts.

“No fear we no go do you anything. We been investigate your oga before and true true he tight. Even the guys sabi am and they tell us say we need to give you protection, no be like say we wan harm you na, then why we come here? The guy asked and I heaved.

“Since you say so, I’ll go take my bags then, I said and got into my car and drove off.

I returned to where i left them and saw only 2 of the guys waiting for me which they roughly hopped into my car and I drove to where I don’t know until we arrived at a big uncompleted building where all guys of different sizes, heights and complexions were busy drinking and smoking.

“Jesus! Will I stay here? I asked the guys after I killed the engine.

“You don see am finish, but no fear nothing dey happen, one replied and opened the door going out which the guys cheered them. The noise they made can blow off someone ear drums and I slowly came out from the car and shakily waved at them as my own way of greeting them.

“Na she be this? One of the guys asked the one that brought me.

“Na our momma be this, he replied.

“Ahhhh na you wan bring down bros Dee? E go hard o make I no lie you, some of our guys dey serve am, the guy said to me and I looked at the guys I hired.

“E get anybody wey dey serve am here and you no tell me? One of the guys I hired asked.

“No be like that sha, but he dey dash them rubber band and them dey loyal to am, the guy replied.

“Ohhhhhh! Why you no yan me this one since I for no bring am here, they fit expose our mission na, the guy with me angrily said and he laughed.

“Make Una calm down, me sef no like bros Dee na why I ask Una to come. You sabi wetin that guy do me? That time you hear say I been dey jail na who been put me there? I been dey run matter for am before and that guy get liver, his stone heart no be here and small mistake I been do he almost kill me o, the guy said.

“Wait a minute, is it the Desmond I know that you’re talking about? I asked because it doesn’t look like the Desmond I was married to and the guy sighed.

“You follow school there? He asked and I nodded and he looked at the guys I hired.

“Wait o, you say na she be Desmond ex wife? The babe wey he been play that year? The guy asked.

“Yes o, so that time I been talk am you been block your ear? The guy replied and he laughed and shook hands with me.

How was I so blind and insensitive? Was I charmed or something because I could not believe a normal human being can be so fooled and stupid that way without her realizing. I was so ashamed of my self as the guys led me in and gave me a room to stay and I sat down on the low bed there and sniffed,

“Na his wife cause am na, she say make he play you and Desmond mumu for that girl no be small, one replied and I leaned on the wall looking at them.

“Then I think we have found the Achilles heel, I said.

“Precious, if we get hold of her then Desmond will come out and do whatever we ask him to do right? I asked them and they smiled.

“But when I saw her during her bridal shower she was alone, I said.

“Na me dey tell you what’s up, she no dey waka alone, guys dey watch am, one replied and I rubbed my head.

So Desmond and Precious was that deep into crimes yet I was not aware? So I was married to a cultist, I laid with an armed robber, And I was even carrying a child of a murderer, I gave my whole heart and money to a liar and a heartless beast without knowing. I remembered when Desmond was going for his service, the tears I cried for the animal and the sleepless night I had because of him pained me so much that I felt like slapping myself hard. Oh Joan! That night I came out from the room and almost got choked with the fumes that came out from a corner and I coughed hard alerting them I was out.

“Nah the last time I took it I slept like a dead person, I replied when I remembered the way I was drunk the night I found out about Precious and Desmond.

“No problem, the guy said and i looked at the guys there, they were so free with life with no worries. This was a different world to me and I didn’t imagine I’ll be here for any reason but see what vengeance has dragged me into.
