Rudolph’s POV

When we returned from the hospital, I, my wife and Charles’s parents sat in the living room at our mansion while the kids went to discuss with their friends. I voiced out my concern on the event of that day I.E. the shooting of my daughter on her return from her honeymoon. Charles’s father my good friend John said that I shouldn’t be concerned that he and his son have everything under control and I asked what are you doing? He told me that he had asked Charles to get himself and Diana some bodyguards and he also said he asked Charles to get himself and Diana some firearms training and my wife asked bodyguards and firearms training for what? John said for protection and my wife asked protection from who? Then john went on to explain to us that the attack today he didn’t believe was a singular occurrence and he added I feel there would be more. I said look at us we are supposed to be discussing the general board meeting of both companies which is scheduled for tomorrow and john said what we are discussing is also important and he added it concerns the safety of our children. I agreed with him and I asked him so when would the bodyguards get here? He said that he would have to talk with Charles that he told him to talk with his friend who came to the hospital by name Daniel to secure some bodyguards due to the fact that his father owns a security firm. I asked one of the maids to go call me Charles and she did and John suggested we call Diana also because she had to be here when we were discussing this. I asked another maid to go call me my daughter and less than five minutes later the kids arrived the living room almost at the same time. When Charles walked into the room and saw Diana he said fancy meeting you here and Diana responded likewise. Then the two of them started exchanging some sexual looks and I called them to order and said you two behave yourselves you are in the presence of your parents for God sake and they apologised and asked so why did you want to see us? I started by telling them how sorry I was for the attack today and Diana asked dad why are you apologising? I told her that it’s every father’s duty to protect his children and when he fails in that responsibility, he has to apologise and she said oh okay dad apology accepted. She said I know that’s not the reason you called us to come see you right now and she added so get to the point. I told her that I, her mother and our in-laws were just discussing and john suggested we get bodyguards for you and your husband and I asked her just wanted to know if you were okay with it? She said to tell you the truth dad, I was really scared today when those bullets hit my chest she continued anything to protect me and my husband I’m in. Then John said you are also going to have to undergo firearms training and he asked are you okay with that? She said like I said earlier count me in and John asked Charles what did your friend say about getting you those bodyguards and when would they be arriving? Charles said he said to let him make a few calls. Once that was settled, I asked them would you kids be available to attend the general board meeting of both companies tomorrow? Diana asked why is the board of both companies meeting tomorrow? I said in order to finalise the merger of both companies and she said I’m not going anywhere tomorrow so I should be available and I asked Charles and he said he would be available also. Later on I dismissed the kids and they went back to what they were doing earlier.

Daniel’s POV

I waited for Charles by the pool for about 30 minutes and in that time I made a call to the head of my family’s security firm. A former Israeli Mossad agent named Levi and he picked just as the phone rang and I said one day you are going to have to tell me how you do that. He just laughed and said what can I do for you Mr Malcolm? I told him that I’m not Mr Malcolm that that’s my father and he said okay what can I do for you Daniel? I said better and I asked him if he saw the shooting at the JFK international airport earlier today? He said yes and asked me hope you weren’t involved in that? I said no that it was a friend’s wife who got shot and he asked how is she? I said that she was fine and that was the reason I called. He said let me guess you want me to send a team of security consultants right? I said yes that my friend believes that the attempt on his wife’s life wasn’t a singular event and that he thinks there would be more attacks. He said that’s serious and I said tell me about it. He asked so when would your friend like the security team to arrive? I said that he wants them here as soon as possible. He asked where is here? I said that I was in New York to show support to a friend and he asked I thought you were on your honeymoon? I told him that I returned today and on the flight to Boston, we heard the news of my friends wife getting shot and my wife is a close friend to the lady in question and I added in fact the plane was about to land in Boston when we got the news and I had to redirect the flight to New York. He said I know you must be jetlagged by now and I jokingly asked what are you now my mother? We both laughed and I went back to the reason I called him in the first place and he said he could send a team of six security experts to help with my friends security by tomorrow morning two of them to be their bodyguards, another two to install the security cameras in and around their residence and the last two to watch the security cameras for immediate threats to the couple. Then I told him thank you that my friend would rest easier now and he said that’s what I’m here for. We chatted for a while longer before I ended the call. Just as I was ending the call, Charles walked out of the house to meet me at the pool and he asked so what’s up? I told him nothing much just that I’ve secured a team of security consultants to watch over him and his wife. He said thank you but asked how is it going to work and when are they getting here? I told him that they would be getting here tomorrow but for how it would work, I’d leave that to the experts to decide and I excused myself from him and went to look for my wife.
