Nancy’s POV

I waited for Diana in her room for close to 30 minutes and I decided to go through her bookshelf. I saw many books and novels which caught my fancy and I picked out three of them and started to read. The book was so interesting that I forgot that I wasn’t wearing my reading glasses and my eyes started to hurt. I lay down on the bed facing up with the book open but facing my chest with one arm across my forehead. Just then Diana walked into the room and jumped on me on the bed and started tickling me and I started laughing and asked her to stop and she asked what are you doing? I told her that I was reading one of the books I saw on her bookshelf when my eyes started to hurt and she asked were you reading without your glasses? I said yes that the book was so interesting that I forgot to wear them and she asked where are they? I told her that I forgot them in my luggage on the plane we returned from Barbados in and she asked how could you be that careless? I said that it was my fault for bothering myself about her safety and she apologised saying you know that wasn’t what I meant. Just then Daniel walked into the room and Diana said can’t you knock? He apologised and went back outside the room and knocked on the door and Diana said come in. Diana said now you have arrived and she added the only person who has the right to enter my room like that is my husband got it. Daniel apologised once more and asked can I talk to her? referring to me and Diana said go ahead but just then a maid came and informed us that dinner was ready and Diana told her that we were coming and the maid left the room. Diana said my mother doesn’t like people keeping her waiting especially when it comes to dinner and she asked us you guys are staying for dinner aren’t you? I said I’d leave that to my husband to decide and I went to cling to his left arm. Daniel took his right hand and rubbed his jaw and said dinner at the Robinson’s, count us in. Then we left the room to the dining room and oh my word Diana’s mother sure knows how to throw a dinner party because it was a serve yourself buffet with all sorts of food. When we had all taken what we wanted, we went to the table to eat. Just then we heard the doorbell ring and Diana went to open.

Nate’s POV

Ever since my mother met Lillian at my apartment, she started bothering me with calls asking me have you asked that girl out? Up to the extent she got my father involved in the issue. I was surprised to receive a call from my father on one of those days and he asked me how are you doing son? I told him that I was fine and he said your mother tells me that you are living with a girl and I told him no that she just came visiting and he laughed and said my son you are a grown man and I don’t have any problem with you living with a girl just make sure that you respect and treat her right. He asked me so is she your girlfriend? I said no I’m thinking of how to ask her out. He told me to think fast that if the description your mother gave to me of the lady is correct, she would have so many guys flocking around her. We talked for a few more minutes before we hung up the call. After the call with my dad, I decided to ask Lillian out the following day after our midterm examinations. The next day, after the exams, Lillian came running out of the hall to me saying that the examination was very easy and I told her brilliant you why wouldn’t it be easy for you and she said you aren’t too bad yourself and I asked her can I talk to you? She said I should go ahead and I told her not here then I took her to the cafeteria. Once there, I ordered some food for us to eat. While we were eating, I looked into her eyes and cleared my throat just as I wanted to start speaking, a news flash came on the television in the cafeteria it was a breaking news update on the shooting of Diana Anderson. Once Lillian saw it, she lost her appetite and dropped her spoon. She started to frantically search for her cell phone and it turned out that she left it in her room before coming for the examination. I asked her what’s wrong? She said that her sponsor just got shot and she stood and said she had to go to New York. I told her to calm down and she said don’t tell me to calm down and she added do you know what happens to me if she dies? I asked her how do you intend to get to New York? She looked at me and said maybe I’d take the bus and I told her to sit and I asked her do you know how long the journey from Washington DC to New York is by road? I answered about three hours and added not considering all the stops on the way. I asked her do you want to be on the road that long? She sat with a thud, buried her face in her palms and asked what am I going to do? I told her that if she gives me the chance to finish my food I’d fly her to New York in my father’s private jet. After I was done eating, I took her by the hand and led her to my car and drove her to her room in order for her to pick her phone and when she came out of the room, she came with her friend Joan and Joan’s boyfriend Paul. Then Joan asked me is it true that Diana got shot? I said yes that I and Lillian were watching the developments on television. Paul said so what are we waiting for let’s go to New York and we all got into my car on our way to the airport with me in the driver’s seat Lillian beside me and Paul and Joan at the back. I drove us to the airport and we boarded my father’s private jet and the plane took off. Exactly 41 minutes later, we landed in New York. When we landed, we didn’t know where to go but Paul suggested we went to Diana’s parent’s mansion and so we took a cab and went there and Lillian rang the doorbell and to our surprise, Diana opened the door. Lillian gave Diana a big hug and said I thought I lost you and Diana said don’t worry I’m always here for you. Diana said we were just going to sit for dinner you guys mind eating with us? We all said yes and she invited us into the house. Dinner was a serve yourself buffet and I met my brother Daniel and his wife Nancy at dinner. After we had taken what we wanted to eat, we joined the rest at the table. After dinner Diana introduced us all to each other. Then Daniel looked at his wristwatch and said oh look at the time we have to get going. This was around 9 pm and Diana’s mother said where are you going? Daniel said home to Boston and Diana’s mother said please don’t go anywhere we have a lot of room in this house you could sleep over and leave in the morning. Daniel looked at Nancy and she nodded in affirmation and we including myself, Lillian, Paul, Joan, Daniel, Nancy, Charles, Diana and Charles’s parents all slept over at Diana’s parents house the married ones among us slept in the same room while the unmarried ones slept in different rooms.
