John’s POV

While everyone was celebrating that Diana was alive and survived the attempt on her life, I was wondering who would want my daughter in-law dead. Then I called my son and asked him if I could talk to him outside for a second and he said yes and we left the room. We walked out of the room and when we were out of earshot of Diana her parents and my wife, I asked my son who could have been responsible for the attempt on your wife’s life? He said to tell you the truth dad, I don’t know and he sat down on one of the hospital benches where we were. I sat beside him and said to him I was afraid this was going to happen and he asked what? I told him that I was afraid that he and his wife were going to be dodging bullets for the rest of their lives and he asked how? I asked him do you know how much money you and your wife are sitting on? He asked me what does that have to do with anything? I told him that it has to do with everything. I continued saying that there are some people who want to see the merger of the two companies fail and what better way to do that than to kill your wife or even kill you. He saw with me and asked me what are we going to do dad? He continued I can’t afford to lose her referring to his wife Diana. I told him that we were going to enrol he and his wife Diana in some self defence classes and he said that you have forgotten that Diana and I are black belts in karate and judo respectively and besides what is self defence going to do when bullets are flying. I said that that’s not the self defence I was talking about and I added that what I meant was firearms training and he said oh yes you are right. I told him that after their firearms training that he and his wife were going to have to get bodyguards and he asked is that necessary? I said do you want me to remind you how much you and your wife are sitting on? He said no thanks dad and I continued about your bodyguards I seem to remember that that your friend who was your best man at your wedding and he said Daniel and I said yes Daniel his father owned a security firm am I correct? He said yes and I told him to call Daniel to ask for his assistance in getting some bodyguards for he and his wife. He was just pulling out his phone to call him, when Daniel and his wife walked into the hospital. Then Nancy his wife ran to us in a panic and asked Charles where’s Diana? Charles told her to calm down that Diana is fine and that luckily for us she was wearing a bulletproof vest at the time of the attack and Nancy said please can I see her? Then Charles led her and her husband to Diana’s hospital room.

Daniel’s POV

On the flight back to Boston from Barbados, Nancy and I were talking. I asked her what she would like to do now that we were married? She looked at me and said first of all I’d like to have kids maybe three or four and after that I’ll like to expand my cosmetic business and I reminded her that her father and mine merged their two companies and put us in charge. She said oh about that can you handle that on your own? I told her not to even think about it or does she want to kill me with work? She started trying to woo me with those her pleading eyes but I was having none of that and I added or do you want me to sell your father’s part of the company? She told me not to try it and I told her that I could give her three years to have kids and nurture them but that after that I wanted her at the office with me and she said about the office, can we move to California? I asked you want to live with your friend Diana right? She said not really just that but I saw it in her face that she was lying and I called her out on it and she admitted. The pilots told us to fasten our seatbelts and prepare for landing, when Nancy got a notification on her phone and she checked it and the phone fell out of her hands. I asked her what’s wrong and she showed me the phone and it was a social media post of the shooting of Diana. Nancy started crying seriously and she said I can’t afford to lose my best friend. I picked up the phone on the plane and called the pilot and said to him to take us to New York and he asked why? I told him to do as I said and to stop asking me unnecessary questions. The plane was already in its descent when I made the call so after the call; the plane started ascending once more. Then I went to Nancy and picked her up from the floor and I told her not to worry that everything would be fine and she asked how do you know? I told her that I have a feeling in my gut and she said she believed me. After 45 minutes in the air, the pilot announced that we were over New York and told us to fasten our seatbelts and prepare for landing. We did and in no time we were on the ground. When we got down from the plane, after going through immigration and customs we took a cab and I asked Nancy if she knew the hospital Diana was taken to? Nancy was about to answer when the cab driver said is it Diana Anderson? I said yes and he told us that he knew the hospital she was taken to. I told him to take us there and after 45 minutes due to heavy traffic we arrived the hospital and once the cab came to a halt, Nancy bolted out of the cab. I went on to settle the bill and joined her in the hospital. When I got into the hospital, I met Nancy asking a nurse at the front desk where Diana was and I noticed Charles and his father talking a little distance from where we were. I made Nancy aware of this and we went to speak to them. When we got to them Nancy asked Charles so where’s Diana? Charles said that she was fine and that luckily for us she was wearing a bulletproof vest at the time of the attack. Nancy said she wanted to see Diana and so Charles led us to her room.
