Melisa’s POV

I was relaxing at home with a friend when all of a sudden Kenneth stormed into my house and asked if he could talk to me and I said well go ahead and he said in private. My friend Janet then stood and said she would see me later. I wanted to walk her to her car but she said not to worry that I should attend to my guest. Once Janet was gone, I asked Kenneth what’s wrong. He said I should turn on the television I did and what I saw made me very happy because on all the major news stations it was the reporting on the shooting of Diana Robinson. Then Kenneth asked me did you have anything to do with this? I asked him what do you mean? I added if I had what’s that to you? He said you stupid B. H you’ve just ruined all my plans and he added didn’t I tell you to leave Diana Robinson to me? I said your plans were going too slow and I added besides this way that B. H would rot in hell. Then he shouted at me didn’t you hear what I just said?! You’ve just ruined everything. Then I asked how? He said you must be really stupid and I slapped him because no one insults me and gets away with it. Then he grabbed me by the neck and started to squeeze the life out of me I was struggling to breathe and I saw in his eyes that he was a very dangerous man. I started to wonder to myself how I got involved with such a man when he released his hold on my neck. He said that was for slapping me and he added the reason I said you must be really stupid is that you don’t know that Diana doesn’t go anywhere without a bulletproof vest and apart from that now that you just did this, she is going to have guards around the clock. At this time I was on a heap on the floor with tears in my eyes. I asked him what are we going to do now? He said you mean what am I going to do because I don’t want you anywhere near this issue anymore. I begged him not to shut me out but he said that I’ve gotten my chance and I blew it. Then he bent over and kissed me on the lips and squeezed my BBS and I moaned and he left me seated there before walking out of the house he said to me don’t even think about reporting me to the police because I’d know and you know what that would mean for you more torture from where that came from. After what I thought was forever, I stood up and went to take a shower and when I was about to take off my clothes, I stood in front of a mirror and saw the bruises on my neck from when Kenneth held me there. This brought tears to my eyes and I used my two palms to cover my face and I said to myself big girls don’t cry and I thought besides you brought this on yourself.

Charles’s POV

After Diana was shot, I called 911 and an ambulance arrived and we rushed her to the hospital. After she was shot, it looked like she was unconscious and she wasn’t breathing. I told the paramedics to please save her life that she was my wife and that we just returned from our honeymoon. They said they would do everything they can to save her life. I had totally forgotten that I gave her a bulletproof vest to wear and only remembered when one of the paramedics said there’s no entry nor exit wound and so no blood. Then the paramedic tore off her blouse and saw that she was wearing a bulletproof vest. Just then we arrived at the hospital and she was rushed in. I was pacing up and down the front of the room she was rushed into. When a doctor exited the room and I stopped him and asked doctor how’s my wife? He said don’t worry she would be fine and he put his hand on my shoulder and gave it a slight squeeze and I said why was she unconscious on the way here? He said that the person who gave her the vest that she wore saved her life and he added to your question, she was unconscious because of the bullet impact on the vest and that all she would suffer is some broken ribs. Just then a nurse exited Diana’s hospital room and said whose Charles Anderson? I said that’s me and she said your wife is asking for you and I accompanied her into Diana’s hospital room. Once I walked in, Diana had a smile on her face and she said hi and I said hi you and added you gave me a scare there and she said sorry didn’t mean to scare you honey and I asked her so who would want you dead? Just then two detectives walked into the room and asked are you Mrs Diana Anderson? Diana said yes how may I help you detectives? They said they were here concerning the attempt on your life. I wanted to walk out of the room to give them privacy but one of the detectives stopped me and asked who are you? I wanted to respond but Diana cut me off and said he is my husband. Then the detective asked me so where are you going? I said just want to give you some privacy. He said no need for that we just want to know who would like to see your wife dead? I told them that I didn’t know and before they walked in that was what I was trying to find out from her pointing to Diana. Diana said there is only one person who would want me dead but I thought he was in prison in Texas and the detective said who is that? Diana said his name is Kenneth Henry the former CEO at my father’s company. The detective scribbled something on his notepad and they stood and said they would be in touch before exiting the room. Just as I was sitting beside Diana, our parents walked into the room. Diana’s mother ran to her daughter on the bed and engulfed her in a big hug and Diana winced and her father said careful woman can’t you see that she just got shot? They both asked are you okay? Diana said don’t worry about me mum I’m fine and Diana asked how did you know that I got shot? Her father said I was watching the television when the breaking news alert popped up that my daughter got shot on her return from her honeymoon. My mother asked how did you survive the gunshots? Diana said that she survived all thanks to me and I asked what did I do? She said that a day before we returned, he referring to me had a dream in which I got shot. She continued I started panicking because anytime he had a dream it one way or the other comes to pass. She added and so on the flight over here, he gave me a bulletproof vest and so that was how I survived. Her mother came to me and said thank you my son you don’t know how much what you did means to me and her father came close to his wife and said to the both of us and I told them not to worry that it was my job to protect my wife their daughter and they said that’s true.
