Diana’s POV

We arrived the church around 12.15 pm and the church was filled with people who had come to witness my wedding. When we got down from the vehicle, my mother, Charles’s mother, Nancy, Lillian and her friend Joan met us outside the church and I asked Nancy do you have the ring? She said yes and brought it out for me to see. My mother asked me where’s your veil? I said that it was in the vehicle Charles’s mother then went to the car and brought out the veil and my mother helped me to wear it and she handed me a bouquet of flowers. Then my father walked me into the church and when we got to the entrance the church organ started playing here comes the bride and when I walked in, everyone in the church over 2,000 of them stood on their feet and looked back to see the bride walking into the church. The others excluding Nancy had gone to take their seats in the front roll. Nancy stayed with me because she was my bridesmaid. My father walked me down to the alter and I took my time. When we got there, my father handed me over to Charles and the priest before going to take his seat beside my mother then the priest said oh the bride is here and he asked me why are you late to your own wedding? I was about to respond when he said never mind. He said let’s get this wedding started and he said “dearly beloved we are here to witness the joining of these two in the bonds of holy matrimony”. He continued “now we all know that marriage is a sacred bond which shouldn’t be entered into likely”. Then he asked the congregation “if there is anyone here today who can show just cause why these two shouldn’t be married speak now or forever hold your peace”. When nobody said anything he turned to me and asked Diana Robinson do you take this man Charles Anderson to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, forsaking all others till death do you part? I said yes I do and he turned to Charles and asked Charles Anderson do you take this woman Diana Robinson to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, till death do you part? Charles responded yes I do and the priest asked where are the rings? Charles looked behind him and collected the ring from Daniel while I did same collecting the ring from Nancy. We then exchanged the rings and the priest said by the power vested in me by God and the Roman Catholic Church, I now pronounce you man and wife and he added you may kiss the bride. Charles then removed my veil taking it behind my head and kissed me for a good two minutes and his lips were so soft. Then someone announced I now present to you the newest couple in town Mr and Mrs Charles Anderson and the whole church erupted in a round of applauds. Charles and I waved to the congregation and I collected the microphone from the priest and said thank you all for coming to honour us with your presence at our wedding. I added now let’s adjourn to my parent’s house for the reception. We that’s the whole congregation moved to my parent’s house.

Lillian’s POV

Before we all left the church, it came time for Diana to throw the bouquet of flowers which she was with and my mother asked me aren’t you going to participate in the ritual? I told her that I wasn’t interested but she convinced me along with Diana and Charles’s mothers and so I went where Diana was standing. Diana backed the crowd and threw the bouquet and fortunately for me it landed in my arms and Diana sharply turned and asked who caught it? I waved it in the air to signify that I caught it and Diana said congratulations to me. Then I saw someone I never thought I would see in a long time it was detective Paul Davis. You guys remember the detective who arrested me right? He said hi and I said hello detective and asked what are you doing here? He said that it’s agent now and that he was off work and I can call him Paul he also said as for your question what am I doing here well I’m a friend to the couple and in fact they invited me. I asked oh did you say agent? He said yes agent of the FBI and I said congratulations and he said thank you. We then chatted for a while before he said he was going to congratulate the newlyweds and I asked him for his phone number and he gladly gave it to me and I gave him mine. He left me seated on one of the benches waiting for the party to move to Diana’s parent’s mansion when someone came from behind me and covered my eyes with their hands. I was wondering who could this be when the person removed his hands from my eyes and I came to realise that it was Nate. I asked him what are you doing here? He sat beside me and said you first and I told him that Diana is the one sponsoring my education and so I had to be here for her and besides she is my friend. Then I asked him you now? He said that the best man is his brother and I said really Daniel Malcolm is your brother? He said yes and asked me you seem surprised? I said yes the first time we met you said you were one of the richest students on campus now I know why. He asked me what are you doing with that referring to the bouquet on my laps and I said I caught it when Diana threw it and he asked me do you know what it means? I said no not really and he said that the person who catches the bouquet at a wedding would be the next to get married. He added I’m surprised that you don’t know this and I said we learn everyday don’t we? He said we sure do. Then Joan came to us and said we are ready to go and I said to Nate I’ll be seeing you around? He said surely and I and Joan left him there. When we had walked a short distance from where we left Nate, Joan asked me so who was that guy you were chatting with earlier? I asked her what guy? She said don’t play dumb with me. I said oh you mean Paul? She said is that his name? I said yes and I asked her what’s your interest in him? She said that she was in love with him and I asked how? She said you can call it love at first sight. I said congratulations my friend has found love at last and she asked can you introduce us? I said that wouldn’t be a problem but I warned her that he was a police detective who just got an appointment as an agent of the FBI and she said no problem and we went to Diana’s parent’s house.
