Blood Is Thicker Than Water - S01 E29

Diana’s POV

After listening to Nancy’s story on her date with Daniel in Paris, we discussed other things before I checked the time and it was 12.05 am and I yawned and said that I wanted to sleep and she asked why? I said that the guys might come knocking on our doors early tomorrow morning saying that they wanted us to accompany them to go get their suits and she said oh okay and she cleared the things we used in eating and she told me good night before walking out of my room to hers to go get some sleep. True to my words, the next morning, I heard a knock on my door, I groggily got out of bed and went to open and the person I saw on the other side was Charles and he said good morning beautiful with a bunch of red roses in his hands. I said good morning and asked are those for me? Referring to the roses and he said yes and I collected them from him and went to put them in water. He told me that he was here to get me so we could go shopping for his suit. I asked why today and he told me that he and Daniel just wanted to get it done before any eventuality. I asked him to give me 30 minutes to get ready and he went out of the room. After doing my morning rituals, I was ready to go. I was dressed in a white gown with flowery designs all over it. When I got out of my room the others were ready to go and were waiting for me and I asked aren’t we going to have some breakfast? Daniel said not to worry we would get that on our way to see his designer. As in Paris, Daniel had hired a car to enable us move around and on our way we stopped at a cafe and got some breakfast of muffins and a cup of coffee. When we got to Daniel’s designers shop, the guys went in and he that is the designer went to work taking the guys measurements. I and Nancy sat in the waiting area. Then she received a call she picked it and walked a little distance from me. After the call, she came and sat beside me and I asked her so what was the call about because I saw her face turn into a frown. She told me that her step mother just died in a car accident yesterday. Then I told her that you should be happy and she asked what? I told her that the woman was evil and now she would be getting her inheritance and she said this is a human life we are talking about here Diana. Not up to 15 minutes after the first call, she received another and she took it and walked away from me again. After the second call, I asked so what was that one about? She started crying and I told her whatever it is you can tell me. Then she broke the good news she said that her father is out of his coma and I jumped up for joy and I asked her so why are you crying and she said these are tears of joy. She added that there is another thing and I asked what’s that? She said that he has been demanding to see her and Daniel. She asked what am I going to do now? I asked about what? She said about going to see my dad of course and I told her to wait for the guys to be done with their suit fitting. After about an hour, they came out and Nancy broke the news to them and they all asked what are we going to do now? But by this time I had already texted the pilot of the plane which brought me to Paris and told him to fly down to Milan that it was an emergency. I told all of them to calm down that I’ve already called a pilot with my company’s private jet to come meet us in Milan and Nancy said thank you Diana. After this, Daniel returned to the designer and told him to mail them their suits and he agreed. Later on, we returned to the guest house to park our belongings and we took a taxi and headed to the airport.

Nancy’s POV

When we got to the airport, the jet was already fuelled and on the tarmac. We boarded the plane and the pilot announced welcome aboard and he said to please fasten our seatbelts and prepare for immediate takeoff. When the plane was in the air, the airhostesses came and gave us some snacks. It was a long flight from Milan to Boston; it took exactly 8 hours and 11 minutes for us to get there and I was just watching the time on my wristwatch. During the flight, Daniel was always by my side comforting me and Charles and Diana also tried their best to do same. But I told them that I would only be happy when I see my father with my two eyes. Soon enough we were preparing for landing, and the pilot announced we are about to land at the Boston international airport and he said to please fasten our seatbelts again. Once we were on the ground I wanted to jump out of the plane to go see my dad in the hospital but Daniel held me down and said patience darling. When we disembarked, there was a limo waiting for us to take us to the hospital or at least that was what I thought. I was confused when we arrived at Daniel’s family house and I asked what are we doing here? He told me that you can’t go and see your father looking like that and I said like what? He said never mind just come in, freshen up and get a change of clothes. I did as he asked and Charles and Diana did same. After freshening up we went to the hospital and when I was about to walk into my father’s room, I became weak in the knees and Daniel asked what’s wrong? I told him what if I am a disappointment to him and he said never that if you were such he wouldn’t want to see you this bad. We walked into the room and the doctor was checking my father’s vitals and when he saw me he busted out in tears and said come here my daughter and I ran to him and gave him a hug on his bed. By this time we were both in tears and he used his hand to smoothen my hair at my back and he said I’m sorry would you forgive me? And I asked for what? He said marrying your step mother. He said that he heard how she was maltreating me and I told him that he was forgiven. He said to Daniel come here my son. He said I heard that you are the one who has been protecting my daughter and Daniel said it’s no problem it’s my responsibility and he saw my engagement ring and he asked are you two getting married? I said yes and he said if not that my doctors said I should be on bed rest I would have jumped up for joy. I and my father went on to discuss various other topics until it was late in the night and he told me to go home and that I could return tomorrow. When I got outside his room, I found Charles and Diana waiting for me and I asked them what are you still doing here? Diana replied I’m your best friend and so I have to be here for you and Charles asked how is he? Referring to my father and I said he is doing fine. I returned home and for the first time since I was 18 I went back to my father’s house and slept on my bed.
