LOCATION: MR. MARTIN’S ALMOST COMPLETED BUILDING

Chief Chris opened his eyes gradually, everything seems dim and dusky at first, but everything became clear and bright immediately he saw Mr. Martins face.

“Welcome back to life.” Mr. Martins greeted.

“Life full of twinges and pains.” Henry added delightfully.

“Life full of betrayal and infidelity.” Daniel added mockingly.

“Life full of injustice and bias.” I concluded agreeably.

“Do you know anything about Princess’ rape incident?” Mr. Martins asked directing his question to puzzled Chief Chris.

“What? You mean…” Chief Chris stammered.

“You mean you know those that raped Princess?” Chief Chris asked suspiciously.

“Chief, you falsely accused these two boys (pointing to Daniel and I) to be the rapists, you punished them unjustly, and deep down in your heart you knows the rapists, you used your power as a politician to keep these two innocent boys in jail, you jailed them for almost six months. What a world of injustice! Chief, I don’t think you have anything to convince me that you don’t know the rapists.” Mr. Martins enunciated confidently.

“Chief Chris, all I need from you now is your sincerity… do you know the rapist(s)?” Mr. Martins asked as he fixed his gaze on mystified Chief Chris.

LOCATION: CHIEF CHRIS’ POV

Princess sat inside a sofa; mewling and sobbing wretchedly, she was very heartache and despair, she can’t believe the Lieutenant Colonel’s son is one of those that raped her, she imagined how the incident happened; how she was tricked from her classroom to the bush; how she was forced into the shallow bush and how she was forced to laid her back down on the floor, her crying and yelling hurt her badly, she cried for help, but unfortunately no one was there to come to her rescue, she yelled and wept but her reaction means nothing to the eager rapists, she begged and pleaded but her mouth was shut by thunderous slaps, she recalled how she tried to convince them that she’s a virgin, as if that would help, but no, rather it triggered the rapists moral. She imagined how she started bleeding and hemorrhaging, how the rapists ran away leaving her in her own pool of blood, the countless hours she spent sleeping in her own pool of blood and how she collapsed in Daniel’s hands. Princess cried loudly, she wept her eyes out; her face has swollen of excessive tears. Beside her sat Angel, she was trying her best to console and calm Princess but she won’t just listen, she don’t really understand what’s happening since Princess has remained muted but she sensed something to be fishy about Dominic’s picture.

“Now I understand why father was keeping things to himself.” Princess later voiced out sobbing.

“What do you mean?” Angel asked confusingly.

“Father hasn’t arrived yet, right?” Princess asked ignoring Angel’s question.

“I’ve tried to reach him on phone but his number is not going through, I just pray he is fine and o…” Angel replied but the beep of her phone restrained her from coming down with her statement.

“Excuse me.” Angel requested and she picked up her phone from the table behind her.

“Oh, a message from father.” Angel voiced out delightfully but Princess ignored her, she opened the message and she read thus;

‘Dear Daughters, let meet at McRonald tomorrow by 1pm, I won’t be able to come home today, I’m sorry for the troubles I’ve caused you guys, enjoy the rest of the day happily. Thanks. Sender: Lovely Popsi.’

LOCATION: MR. MARTINS ALMOST COMPLETED BUILDING

“Sent.” Daniel announced smiling.

“Tomorrow is D-day.” Mr. Martins threatened just then the beep of Chief Chris phone could be heard loudly playing ‘Backfire’ by Retty Love. Mr. Martins picked up the phone.

“Hello, please am I speaking with Chief Chris?” The caller asked.

“Yes, how may I be of help?” Mr. Martins lied and asked.

“Sir, I’m Doctor (Miss) Bash Vicky from the General Hospital, I just want to notified you that the patient we admitted through you is back to life and we may discharge her anytime from now, we just want to notify you sir..” Doctor Vicky articulated and announced.

“Wow! Thank you Doctor I’m very happy. But I don’t think I’ll be able to come there today, I’m currently in travel and I will be back maybe tomorrow, so I may be in the hospital tomorrow Doctor.” Mr. Martins replied faking Chief Chris.

“Thank you sir, I hope to see you soon.” Doctor Vicky concluded.

“Good bye Madam.” Mr. Martins finalized and he ended the call.

“Hmm… your doom is there standing behind you.” Mr. Martins concluded and he walked out of the room, Daniel, Henry and I walked behind him as the stage light faded gradually but spontaneously.
