“Daniel!” A feminine voice called from behind. Daniel and I turned back to look at the caller before we took to our heels but we’re surprised and stunned, Cynthia, Daniel’s girlfriend, called from behind. She was gorgeously dressed, neat and looking beautiful. Behind her walked her uncle, whom she lives with, her uncle’s wife, and two other beautiful young girls.

“Daniel!” Cynthia called again as she ran toward Daniel and hugged him passionately, I was stunned and shocked with Cynthia’s reaction towards Daniel, ‘Princess did same’ that was the only thought that came into my mind. Cynthia uncle and his wife were looking tensed and apprehensive.

“Cynthia, your parents are watching.” Daniel whispered into Cynthia’s ear and she slowly disengaged from Daniel.

“Ola, how are you?” Cynthia asked smiling.

“So I don’t deserve a hug, right?” I teased smiling.

“Come on, they are here.” Cynthia rebuttedindirec

tly talkingabout his uncle and his wife.

“But theyare standing there when you hugged Danieland they witnessed everything” I rebutted teasingly.

“Silly you!” Cynthia concluded and hit me playfully.

“Won’t you greet my uncle?” Cynthia asked directing her statement to nail-biting Daniel.

“Sure.” Daniel replied as Cynthia led the way to where her uncle stood, Daniel and I walked behind her, I winked at Daniel and he seems he understand me, he smiled and winked back.

“Good afternoon sir.” Daniel and Igreeted in chorus prostrating.

“Good night… uhmm… I mean Good afterno…n my sons.” Cynthia’s uncle returned our greetings delightfully but stammering.

“How are you?” Cynthia’s uncle asked smiling.

“We’re fine sir.” Daniel and I replied in unison.

“I guess you’re my sister’s boyfriend.” Cynthia’s uncle guessed directing his statement to smart and wise Daniel.

“Hmmm…” Daniel thought for a while, he scanned his brain trying to get in touch with the best lie that would fit in to counter Cynthia’s uncle suspicious question.

“Sir, actually Cynthia is just my friend, a best friend to be precise, she is very lovable and admirable, she is a role model to many. As you can see, her beauty is out of this world, she is a gem and a rare gem of its kind.” Daniel paused while downloading the remaining contents of his lies.

“Sir, Cynthia is my classmate, she is very brilliant and intelligent, she is equally smart and calm, she mingle with good people like me and not bad ones like this mygood friend (pointing to me).”Daniel continued and Cynthia uncle and his wife burst into laughter.

“Sir, I love Cynthia and I have tried my best to convince her to date me but all she do says is that ‘she is not ready for all this boyfriend and girlfriend stuff, such stuff has more disadvantages than its advantages, beside the consequences are graved… boyfriend and girlfriend stuff has nothing to offer than distraction and doom.’ Sir, I love Cynthiawhole-heatedly and I would love to be her boyfriend I just hope you can help talk to her.” Daniel concluded faking sadden face.

“But why did she hugged you when she saw you?” Cynthia’s uncle asked suspiciously.

“Sir, like a said earlier, Cynthia and I are best of friend, this my naughty friend (pointing to me) and Ihave been in travel for the past four months, I missed Cynthia a lot but I was unable to get in touch with her, sir, her hug is just a friendly hug.” Daniel defended smartly.

“Oh I see.” Cynthia’s uncle nodded his head like an Agama Lizard.

“Sir, please help me to talk to Cynthia, I love her, she is religious and she has everything a youngand handsome dude like me would like in a girl, please sir.” Daniel whispered to Cynthia’s uncle and he nodded approvingly.

“Your names?” Cynthia’s uncle asked.

“I’m Daniel and he’s Ola.” Daniel answered.

“Okay, nice meeting you boys.”Cynthia’s uncle commented and he shook hands with us.

“Thank you sir.” Daniel and I appreciated in unison.

“See you guys later.” Cynthia’s uncle concluded as he turned to leave with the rest of his family.

“Sir, don’t forget me o.” Daniel uttered from afar and Cynthia’s uncle nodded in approval, Cynthia looked back and she winked at Daniel.

“Daniel the smart guy.” I hailed teasingly.

“Don’t mind guy, that man want to prove he is smart andwise but I’m far ahead of him in those stuff.”Daniel replied smiling.

“Let hurried home… It’s getting late.” I said as we increased our pace.

LOCATION: MR. MARTIN’S ALMOST COMPLETED BUILDING

TIME: 9:00PM

Mr. Martins, Henry, Daniel and I were gisting and narrating our past experiences, Though, Mr. Martins was doing most of talking we’re just listening and enjoying his narration.

“The terrorist cocked his gun he was about shooting me when…”He narrated just then the beep of his phone could be heard, interrupting our lovely and enjoying discussion.

“Excuse me please.” Mr. Martins begged, he picked up the phone from the table he placed it, he looked at the screen and it was a message.

He unlocked the phone and he read the message serenely.

‘Hi, please can we meet at Royal Crystal Rest House, I mean no harm, I just want to discuss something privately with you, don’t come along with any of those boys please. Time: 2pm. Thank you. Sender: Chief Chris.’
