He unlocked the phone and he read the message serenely.

‘Hi, please can we meet at Royal Crystal Rest House, I mean no harm, I just want to discuss something privately with you, don’t come along with any of those boys please. Time: 2pm. Thank you. Sender: Chief Chris.’

“Hope this man is not up to something bad.” Mr. Martins thought suspiciously.

“I will just play along.” He thought and he replied the message ‘OK’

“What’s wrong brother?” Henry asked skeptically.

“Nothing, I’m perfectly alright, let me continue with the narration.” Mr. Martins pretended as he continued with his story.

“Wow! What a brave soldier you are.” Daniel commented smiling.

“You’re one of the bravest being I ever seen, you may not know me very well but I know you fabulously.” Mr. Martins paused.

“So keep it up.” Mr. Martins concluded.

NEXT DAY

LOCATION: CHIEF CHRIS’ POV

TIME: 1:30PM

Chief Chris was neatly dressed; he wore an Italian suit and on his leg, he wore a well polished black shoe. He picked up his iPhone 7 Plus from the shelf, he looked at himself from the standing mirror and it seems he is good to go.

“Angel! Princess!” He called as he walked out of his bedroom.

“Sir…” Angel answered from the sitting room as Chief Chris came down from upstairs.

“Angel, where’s Princess?” Chief Chris asked.

“She must be in her room.” Angel answered.

“Check on her and call her for me.” Chief Chris commanded and Angel hurried to Princess’ room. She barged into the room without knocking and she was shocked with what she saw.

“Princess, are you out of your mind? You want to hang yourself to death. That’s insane.” Angel blasted as she moved closer to Angel, she snatched the rope from Princess hands and she dragged her out of the room.

“Father, she was about hanging herself…” Angel announced from the staircase but Chief Chris restrained her from coming down with her statement.

“I have told you times without number, I won’t restrain you from committing suicide, you can go on if you like, I will even help you if you can’t do it all alone.” Chief Chris rebutted and his statement left Angel and Princess mouth’s wide opened in agape.

“I’m going out and I may not be able to come back on time, bye.” Chief Chris announced, he picked up his Venza car key and he walked out of the house. He entered the car and he picked up his phone and dialed a number.

“Hello Don, I’m on my way now, please don’t fail me, this guy in talking is very smart and wise but I know you’re double smart, so execute the mission as planned.” Chief Chris said with serious impression showing on his face.

“Sure boss, consider the job done.” Don answered as he ended the call.

LOCATION: MR. MARTINS ALMOST COMPLETED BUILDING.

“Mr. Martins looked at his wristwatch, only seventeen minutes to 2pm displayed the wristwatch.

“I’m running late.” Mr. Martins uttered to himself. He wore a jeans trouser and white polo, he picked up his car key and vacate his room for the sitting room.

“Daniel, Ola, Henry.” He called alarmingly but there is no response.

“They went to the field.” Daniel’s mother answered from her room.

“Okay Mama, I’m also going out, I will be back in no time.” Mr. Martins answered and he picked up his car key from the wooded table.

“Good bye Mama.” Mr. Martins greeted.

“Drive gently my son, don’t over-speed o” Daniel’s mother cautioned and Mr. Martins waved her goddbye.

It’s just ten minutes drive from Mr. Martins house to the rest house, but Mr. Martins made it to the rest house barely eight minutes, Chief Chris was already in the rest house waiting patiently for his guest. On sighting Mr. Martins car drove into the compound, he picked up his phone from the table and he dialed Don’s number.

“He’s here.” Chief Chris notified and he ended the call in a filmy manner. He rose on his feet to welcome his August guest.

“Good morning mister.” Chief Chris greeted, he stretched his hand forward for a handshake and Mr. Martins shook hands with him delightfully.

“Good morning Chief.” Mr. Martins returned with smile all over his face, he looked around the vicinity and he confirmed no one is at the rest house.

“Strange!” He sighed smiling.

“Strange? As how?” Chief Chris asked pretending.

“I’ve been to this rest house a couple of time; it’s always crowded with men and their spouses.” Mr. Martins replied.

“I owned this place, so I commanded my staffs not to allow any customer here today.” Chief Chris elucidated smiling.

“Oh! I see.” Mr. Martins concluded.

“Can we?” Chief Chris asked showing Mr. Martins a sit.

“Sure.” Mr. Martins answered as Chief Chris led the way to the sits, they sat down and three male bartenders filled the table with different kind of foods and drinks.

“What are we discussing?” Mr. Martins asked impatiently.

“Hmmm… firstly, fill the drum in your stomach before our discussions.” Chief Chris replied literarily.

“This man is up to something.” Mr. Martins thought, just then a sport car drove recklessly into the compound, four huge men alighted from the car, they all wore armless and crazy jeans trousers, their faces were not inviting rather irritating.

“So you want to assassinate me, right?” Mr. Martins asked smiling at Chief Chris.

“Hmmm… probably.” Chief Chris replied smiling. From behind, two thunderous slaps landed on Mr. Martins face and he fell on his knees.

“You fool!” Chief Chris yelled happily.
