“Let me call him.” Mr. Chorus concluded. He picked up his phone from the stool and he dialed Mr. Anume’s number.

“What! Switch off? Hope I haven’t call for my doom?” Mr. Chorus murmured sweating despite the A.C working perfectly.

“I have to go to his house.” Mr. Chorus concluded, he fetched for his car key and he drove out of the compound recklessly.

LOCATION: ARMY BARRACK (RED CAP SOLDIER’S TERRITORY)

“Daniel! Please don’t say anything, I will surely find a way to save you.” I assured just then Daniel collapsed in my hand, he has lost too much of blood and I guess he is enormously unconscious.

“Daniel! Daniel!!” I called repeatedly.

“Oh my goodness, the soldiers are here, what am I going to do?” I murmured confusingly.

“I can’t seek help from them; they may capture us, may? No, they will capture us and they won’t hesitate to do their worst and get involve, I think I have to beg for help elsewhere.” I thought as I turned to leave, surprisingly I saw a ghost crying, a ghost been beating by a battalion of red cap soldiers. A ghost under interrogation; I saw Daniel’s mother with her face covered with blood.

“Oh my goodness!” I sighed in dismay.

“No, you’re only torturing me unjustly; I said I don’t have anything to say on this matter.” Daniel’s mother cried out loud but a thunderous slap was landed on her face by an enraged soldier.

“What am I going to do? What?” I murmured softly, just then a soldier brought out a red hot iron from the fire, he looked at Daniel’s mother and he shook his head in pity.

“This woman must be a hardening criminal, a woman for that matter, after all this torture and you still remain adamant not to confess and show us the file.” A soldier said tiredly.

“What do you want me to say? Must I lie? Must I be fake?” Daniel’s mother barked angrily.

“Are you going to talk now or never?” He asked with the hot iron in his hand.

“I have told you times without number, I don’t know about the file, I don’t know where my late husband kept it…” Daniel’s mother replied inconclusively.

“You fool!” The enraged soldier barked angrily with some kind of husky voice, he angrily ironed the left hand of Daniel’s mother with the over-temperated iron.

“No! No!!” I screamed repeatedly.

“Who is that?” A soldier asked softly.

“Find the intruder and get him or her arrested.” The soldier commanded and his juniors saluted and they began the ultimate search.

“No, they must not catch us.” I murmured as I struggled to back indispose Daniel. I take the bush route and I gathered all my strength to run as fast as my leg could carry me.

Everything seems like film trick, as fast as lightning, in just a twinkle of an eye, someone strike me from behind, the unknown person was in black, the person’s face was masked.

“Who’re you?” I asked angrily but in pain.

“I’m talking to you…” I barked angrily though with a faint voice. The person laughed hysterically and she shot a dart at me and it struck me in my left shoulder and I collapsed instantly.

“Fools!” the person whose voice seems to be that of a lady sighed.

LOCATION: ROYAL BAR AND CLUB

TIME: 9:56PM

PHONE RINGS

“Baby, pick your call.” She uttered seductively.

“I don’t need to pick the call; that old man is very numb and senseless, he should know I won’t come home tonight, this is almost 10pm, why is he bothering me with calls?” Leo commented angrily.

“But he is your father, please pick his call and let hear from him.” Leo’s girlfriend advised.

“Okay but…” Leo replied smiling.

“He is calling.” Leo’s girlfriend uttered pointing to Leo’s phone. Leo picked the phone and he placed it on his left ear.

CONVERSATION ON PHONE

“Hello Dad.” Leo began.

“Hello Sir, this is Miss Francis from Denlik Hospital.” The caller replied. Leo removed his phone from his ear, he looked at the number and it was that of his father.

“What are you doing with father’s phone?” Leo asked confusingly and suspiciously.

“Sir, Mr. Ayo Johnson is here in our hospital… he had an accident two hours ago but none of his family show up, and that made me to check through his contact and I saw your number saved with ‘my dearest’ so I keep calling the number…” Miss Francis elucidated but unfinished.

“In summary sha, father had an accident, right?” Leo asked softly.

“Yes sir.” Miss Francis replied through phone.

“Okay, how is he now?” Leo asked uninterestedly.

“He is in coma, and his condition is very critical, I hope he survived it but he is now a cripple, he can’t walk with his legs again; his legs were brutally damaged and I doubt he can walk with his two legs even if he survive.” Miss. Francis enunciated sadly.

“Disgusting! Like seriously, I don’t pray for his death but I pray he stay long in the hospital’s bed.” Leo replied cruelly.

“What?” Miss Francis yelled surprisingly.

“And woman, don’t ever as in don’t ever call this number again, beside kindly help me to delete this number from his contact because as from this instant I don’t have any business with an imbecile.” Leo concluded and he ended the call.
