The Lion’s Den - S01 E18

Mark and Edmond knew exactly very well that they seriously needed that money like never before and letting go that money would be one of their most stupid mistake they would have ever made in their lives. But taking that money and beating up that cheating couple inside also had its own other side of the coin. They could be spotted and charged with assault which was an offence worthy jail. There was also a chance of the man being stronger than them who would in turn end up beating them up.

“Edmond let’s do this. Let’s go and beat that fool inside who is tormenting this beautiful madam here” mark said standing upas he stached the money in his pocket.

“Hell yeah but we can’t go inside as the room has CCTV cameras which would record us. Let’s wait for him outside.” said Edmond.

“But how long will they take before they come out? I don’t want to wait to see them being beaten.” Asked the lady.

“I will take them out right now” Edmond said.

Edmond then discussed with Mark the plan which they agreed. The woman then went to her car which was packed about 20 metres away from the cafe. Edmond then walked into the cafe about to execute the plan so that the cheating couple could go outside.

After telling them the lie he had well planned beforehand, the couple looked disturbed and immediately stood up. The man paid the bill and walked out with the lady. When the couple walked a few steps away from the cafe heading to his car with the lady, mark with his muscular body walked to the man.

“So it’s you goin out with my girl?” Mark said angrily.

Before the man could say anything or nurse his shock, mark threw a nasty slap to his face making him lean against the car. Before the man could stand up, Mark made way several more punches into the man. When the lady tried to talk to him, Mark then landed a nasty slap to her face making her bleed in an instant.

“Stop it or I will kill you both next time” mark said then walking away.

The woman who had contacted them was watching at a distance enjoying seeing the cheating machine being beaten up. She then started her car and drove off before she could be seen by the man. She drove heading to the way where Mark had gone to. She then found mark who had caught up with Edmond walking to their home.

“Hey gentlemen, that was so fantastic. I have loved it” said the lady as she peeped out of the window.

“Oh really? Thank you” answered Mark.

“If you are heading home can I drop you?” She asked.

Without giving a second thought the two gentlemen hoped into the car and both sat in the back seat of the car. The lady went on praising the work the two guys had done for her on the day.

“He has been so stupid. He has learnt his lesson today. And please, can we make a deal. Whenever I need you to help me, could you be coming on a fee we can agree on?” She asked.

The gentlemen did not expect to hear that as they thought that was just a by chance thing. Knowing what the relationship with the lady may possibly turn into, Mark quickly accepted her proposal

The three went on as Mark kept on giving her the directions to his house. This went on till they got to where they were supposed to drop from.

“Thank you for a ride. That’s our home” Mark said pointing at the house.

“Oh it’s been nice meeting you” she said after which she drove off.

The two gentlemen stood there looking at the car till it dissapeared. Mark them reached for his pocket and got out the k2,500 after which they shared equally. The dudes were really happy that they had a thousand plus of kwacha in their pockets. When the got into the yard,Edmond stopped and started looking Mark as he laughed.

“What is it?” Mark asked having no idea of what was fun.

“Where is the car?”

“What car? Oh!”

It was then that they got carried away with the money and ride the woman gave them such that they even forgot about the car they went with. They immediately broke into loud laughter realising what they had done.

TWO WEEKS LATER

Edmond was still staying with Mark as he had nothing much to take care of himself. The little money which he had been given by the woman, she got a 30% of it and sent it to his children so that it can be used on them since they also lost almost anything in the fire incidence.

Edmond’s anger for Agatha was still very bad such that he never even wanted to mention the name of her anywhere near her. He still held her responsible for what had happened.

Edmond also tried to see what he can do to fend for his life but things were really difficult. His car he tried again to use for lifts also was giving him a lot of problems switching itself off in the middle of the road. The people who knew how his car operated couldn’t even dare board it as it was a source of inconvenience to them.

On this Saturday, the two friends, Mark and Edmond, were sitted under the shade of the tree as they talked on different issues ranging from sports to life in general. This went on till they just saw a familiar vehicle stopping by the roadside of their home. They looked at the car trying to see who the person who had come was. To their curiosity, three women came out of the car and started heading towards their home.

“Edmond!”

“Mark!”

The two friends called each other trying to make sure that each was watching what was happening there. The ladies came on advancing till they entered the yard. They were all perfectly dressed and looked to be doing well financially. They were all also beautiful such that almost any man would wish they would have any of them. What Edmond and Mark did not know was why all those were coming to their home. As the gentlemen went on watching them walk towards them,they realised that one of the ladies was that woman who had hired them to beat the couple in the cafe.

Mark received the ladies and then got some garden chairs where they all sat together with them in the shade. The curiosity of why those ladies had visited was really high in the gentlemen.

“I know you must be wondering why we are here” started the familiar woman.

“Yes we are curious” added mark.

“Yes, I have come here to appreciate you for the job well done. My man is now tamed. He stays home and he has become a better man.”

“That’s nice to hear” said Mark.

“So my friends have come here because they also have a problem like what I had and they need your help” she said.

“Woah woah woah, we don’t do that anymore. What happened was just a once off thing. We don’t do that.” Edmond who had been quiet all along answered.

The ladies then looked at Mark expecting to hear a different view. To their surprise, Mark was also in Accord to what his friend had said.

“Listen their offer is more than mine.” The lady added.

“Even if they offer us K3000 we can’t do it.” Added Edmond.

“Okay, it not that we are saying that this is your profession it’s just that we are the ones who have suffered and that’s why we have come to you. We really need your help. Actually they are ready to offer K4000 each if you deal with who they will tell you.” Said the lady.

“Wait a minute! Did you say k4000 each?” Asked Mark.

“Yes I did .k4000”

“We will do it. Tell us all about these people.” Said mark.

“But your partner doesnt seem interested”

“Am I stupid not to be interested in K4000 each!” Said Edmond with a huge grin.

The ladies then narrated the specifications of the persons there were to deal with. The first one was a male nurse at the town clinic who was an ex to one of the woman and was dumped. The woman wanted him beaten to revenge for the hurt she was caused.

“And mine is a police man” said the second lady.

“What?!” they both shouted.

“Yes but you don’t have to worry because he just stays in the office without training now. He is even paperweight.”

“Whatever but police men are a no go zone”

“I offer K5000 for this”

“No, we can’t do it.”

“Okay, K7,000!”

At hearing k7000, mark and Edmond looked at each other and their faces said it all that they needed to have a try of it. The mount of money was just too extravagant for a day’s work.

Immediately a down payment of k5500 was given and they were to be given the rest after the job. The ladies then left as Edmond and Mark sat there failing to believe that they had that money just like that.

“This people really need us” said Mark.

“Yes they do. Now just imagine the number of women there who need our help. I think we can make a living out of this.” Edmond suggested.

“Yes you are right. Lets make it a service we can offer. We can tell the same ladies to advertise us to other while keeping us anonymous” mark said.

“Yes, so who are we starting with?”

“The nurse”

“Yeah am we have enough details to track him. Let’s do it tomorrow”

“Yeah.”

“We are now Anyamphamvu Limited. Specialised in panel beating stupid partners.” Shouted Mark.

“And we offer discounts if he cries a lot” Edmond also shouted on top of his voice celebrating what they ha received.
