The Lion’s Den - S01 E11

Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 11

Edmond was really confused and disturbed with the revelation that he had seen in his boxer. He slowly walked back heading to the bed. His mind was so absent that before he could get on the bed, he fell down. He did not realise that he had not fully got on top of the bed but on the edge. The falling made Agatha to wake up and check on him as the sound was so sharp and worrying.

“Don’t worry am fine” he said getting on the bed.

He slowly got into the beddings and faced the other side. Agatha did not know anything about what was really making him feel that way. All she knew was that he was feeling the pain of the fall.

“You ain’t feeling well, can I get some ice for you?” She asked

“As if you care!”

“Have I done anything wrong just asking?”

Edmond was feeling very hurt with the fact that he had been put into that situation which he never thought he would find himself into. He did not even want to answer the question that she had asked him as he was getting provoked with each word coming from her.

Seeing that she had been ignored, Agatha got out of the bed and got herself dressed up and went out of the room. She felt nothing strange and she also remembered how she ignored him the other time when she had hrt herself and he was trying to calm her.

She went on and started doing her chores in readiness to go out for her selling business. That’s one thing which made her stand out from other marketeer ladies. Other marketeer ladies usually left home without doing a single chore before going to the market to do their selling business. As for her, she made sure that the house was clean and the dishes done before leaving.

Edmond sat up on the bed thinking of what to do next about what he had found out. He knew that he was supposed to very careful with how he was going to handle the issue. This was because the anger he was feeling would have led him to do the unimaginable.

“I will need to deal with this lady. I need to find out everything.” He said to himself.

“You are sitted? Was the fall that painful?” Agatha said walking into the bedroom and finding him up.

“Agatha, if you know what is good for you, you better leave me alone.” He said getting out of the bed.

Edmond the got dressed up, got the keys to his car and walked out of the room. He then went on till he got out of the house. He then got into the car and angrily banged the car door at which he drove off roughly.

Agatha was watching on the window all the drama which was happening though not understanding what it was all about. It had never happened that Edmond left home in such a manner since they got married. He was always loving and kind regardless of the situation. He was the one who usually comforted and supported his wife even when things were supposed to be the other way round.

“Why is he this mad? Is it just the falling?” She asked herself.

Agatha went on doing her chores after which she prepared herself for the market.

Edmond went on to the supermarket and packed though the shops there had not yet opened. He packed there knowing that there was a good packing space and which would give him an opportunity of not being disturbed.

He then went deep into thoughts as he tried to recall if there was an opportunity of where he could have got the disease from apart from his wife. He did all he could to recall but the fact that the disease he got was a sexually transmitted one, he couldn’t try to make a reason to convince himself that he could have been the one to have brought it home.

“This is all #&@(_’&$!” Edmond cursed as he hit the steering wheel.

He then heard a knock on his side of the window. When he looked at the window he saw an elderly man clad in a security guard uniform. The man looked so worried as he stood there. Edmond then rolled down his window in order to talk to the man there.

“Hello, is everything okay?” The man calmly asked.

“Oh thank you. Everything is fine”

“I have been observing you for sometime and I kept on wondering what could have made you come to this mall even before shops are open.”

“It’s just a minor issue. I am fine”

“I also once left my home early. My wife had really annoyed but we sorted out the issue by talking about it. So when you cool down, go and talk”

Edmond sat there wondering how the man knew that whatever had led him there had to do with his wife. In that state of wondering how he read his mind, the man bamboozled him more.

“Women are just like that. Sometimes they annoy you to the point of feeling like you should divorce but later reconcile. In case you need me, am always here working” said the man.

Edmond thanked the man once again for his concern and then plugged in his key starting the engine of his car. Before he could start off, he called Mark asking him if he could drop by his place. The friend allowed him as there was no reason of saying no.

Mark stood there at the door clad in a short and a vest exposing his muscular body watching Edmond getting out of his car. Mark then looked at his phone and the time was 06:52am. He shook his head failing to understand what could have made his friend be there as early as it was.

“Man is everything okay?” Mark asked as he approached him.

“I don’t know yet man”

The two gentlemen went inside the house and made themselves comfortable in the couches. Mark sat there looking at his friend with that interrogative look wanting to hear what was bothering him.

“Am in deep mess man” Edmond started.

“Okay, tell me about it”

Edmond then started narrating how he found out that he had that some weird puss from his dokonous.

“Men, that’s gonorrhea” said Mark

“Yes”

He went on explaining how sure he was that there was no way he could be the one who brought it as he had been very faithful to his wife.

“Men, I don’t want to point a finger at anyone but who do you think could have brought it?”

“Mark, I am really failing to say it my wife even though every evidence is pointing at her”

“Yeah I can imagine. Have you told her yet?”

“No, I was hurting inside and I couldn’t have held my anger if I tried talking with her at that point”

“Okay, dude, the evidence is clear. Don’t assume it’s her but go talk it out with her and find out the source. If you cant seem to find the source yet, just go and get treatment together as you try to investigate.” Mark said.

“My prayer is that my anger bag doesn’t burst off because some will die”

Mark went on pumping his friend some tips on how he would sort out the issue at hand. He emphasised on patience as it would help him get all the details.

That afternoon, Edmond was home early as nothing made sense to him but waiting on his wife so that he could confront her. He sat there in the bedroom on the bed waiting for Agatha.

For some unknown reason, Agatha also came back early on that day from the market. When she got home, she was worried seeing the car parked outside of her husband. She walked into the house and when she got to the bedroom her eyes met with those of Edmond.

“You are back early? How are you feeling?” She asked as she put down the handbag.

Edmond did not even bother answering as he was almost bursting in anger. He gave a deep breath out to the surprise of his wife..

“Are you okay?” She asked.

“Agatha, sit down here. We need to talk about something” he said facing the other side though the words were so hard to say due to strong emotions.
