After leaving Christen’s house, I went to my mom’s place to tell her the good news.. As I got into the house, I saw she was entertaining some guests.. The guests were her church members and amongst them was Deborah..

In that moment… The heater kettle in the kitchen began to make hooting noises cause the water had over heated… My mom excused herself and rushed to the Kitchen. Deborah wasn’t pleased with the news.. She tried as much as possible to hide her displeasure and anger. Unable to bear the news anymore, she bade my mom good bye and left… My mom took her phone and called our relatives telling them the good news. I’ve never seen her this happy before and I’m glad she is.. After she was done exhausting her airtime.. She began to talk about plans for the engagement party.

As I reached home, I saw Chief Olushegun at the front of my house… What was he doing here by this time of the morning? After I parked my car, I approached him and exchanged Pleasantries with him..

Olushegun ➡ Morning Prof..

Riley ➡ To what do I owe this unexpected visit?

Olushegun ➡ Let’s go inside so we can talk.

The chief and I went into the house, I offered him some juice to drink but he declined.. After that I took my seat to hear what the chief was going to tell me.

Riley ➡ So chief.. What’s wrong ?

Olushegun ➡ Riley.. You’re right… We do have a mole in our midst.. For the past previous days.. Someone has been attacking our bases here in Ibadan and they were doing it mercilessly and brutally.. Nobody knows about our secret hideouts but still this safe locations were being attacked.. The police whom backed us up are now afraid of the threat looming.. We need to regroup and act now.

Olushegun ➡ You’d like your help… We can’t trust anyone else but you.. You’re new and you don’t know anything much.. It is someone who knows us well that is attacking us.. Olushegun ➡ I understand but you did swear an oath to do anything that will please the organization don’t forget that.. This is not a request.. And if you successfully fish out the culprit.. I’ll take you to our mistress myself so that she can reward you.

As soon as the chief left.. I began to worry about what he said. If I’m going to expose Obaro.. I can’t bring his daughter into this.. She may be spoilt but she’s not a part of this at all. I can’t use her as bait. There has to be some other way.
