A Twist of Fate - S02 E09

….Charles was still in the confused state and

Onochie dressed up again. Charles kept starring

at him.

”Don’t give me the impression that you are not

going with me” Onochie said

”Wait up Bro.. What will you go there to do?’

Charles asked

”Anything my mind tells me” Onochie said and

picked up his glasses

”Are you going with me or not?” Onochie asked

and Charles was confusedly tired

”I’m with you Bro” He said and they left. They

did all they can to make sure that their Mother,

the Queen didn’t see them as they left.

Onochie drove his black Range Rover sports Car

like he never did before. Despite the gallopy

road and turns they took, he never held the

brakes.

”Take it easy Bro” Charles adviced Onochie as

the speed of the car became too scary. Seeing

that Charles is no more comfortable, Onochie

took a normal speed but Charles said nothing..

Igwe and the elders were driven by Dike. They

drove for few minutes and Dike took a turn at

the direction of Emetamma’s house

”Haa!! This one you are going towards my

house. I might drop off to eat something”

Emetamma said jokingly and they all laughed,

when they got to the little gate of his house,

Dike horned.

”I was only joking ooh Igwe, Let’s continue to

where we were going to” Emetamma said but

Dike kept horning

”Igwe tell him to move now” Emetamma said

to the Igwe.

”Dike, you heard him, he said he was only

joking” Igwe said

”This is the place your highness” Dike said

looking behind and everybody was shocked.

Emetamma’s case was complicated now.

Everyone looked at him as his mind flashed

back to the day his daughters came back

complaining to him. He quickly came down

from the car and barged into his compound

”Where is that Idiot!! Where is that fool that

calls herself Ada!!! Where is she?,’ He asked

with a loud angry voice and his wife, Obinna

and his two daughters ran out on hearing his

voice.

”What is it Nna anyi?” Nwanneka asked

”Where is Ada?” Emetamma asked

”She went to the stream” Obinna said

”Hope all is well” Nwanneka asked

”What is it Papa” Olamma asked. Just then,

Igwe and the elders came in followed by Dike

who walked behind them.

”Chineke m oooh! (My God!!)” Nwanneka

exclaimed

”Nna anyi, what are they doing here?” She

asked as they looked at them. On getting to a

closer range, Igwe and the elders stopped and

Nwanneka greeted followed by her children

”Peace be unto you all” Igwe said

”Where is your daughter?” Igwe asked

Emetamma and he pointed at Olamma and

Ugomma

”Here they are Igwe” He said

”Dike” Igwe called

”Who amongst them is her” Igwe asked and

Dike walked out. Before Dike could say

anything, Emetamma answered

”Igwe none of them Igwe. Except it’s my late

brother’s daughter.” Emetamma said

”And where is she?’ Igwe asked

”They said she went to the stream” Emetamma

said with a bit shivering voice knowing the

anger that consumes the heart of the Igwe

”Are you not aware that she is deceiving my

Son?” Igwe asked Emetamma and he opened

his arms in innocence

”Igwe, I swear to the gods of Umudike, I don’t

know. When my daughters said it to me, I

disciplined her thoroughly but I didn’t know

that it has gotten to this point Igwe”

Emetamma said

”Igwe biko gbaghara (Please Forgive)” He

pleaded and the Igwe adjusted his robe

”Now listen and listen good and carefully.

Whenever she comes back, warn her never to

come close to the Prince ever again. Or else,

both her and you all will be punished severly”

Igwe said

‘Heii!!! This girl won’t kill me ooh” Nwanneka

exclaimed and just as the panicking and angry

atmosphere was still flowing, Ada walked in

with a gallon of water on her head looking

behind due to the fact that she saw a car

outside. She became a bit hapy thinking it was

the Prince but her mood changed as her

thoughts lied to her

”There she is Igwe!!” Olamma said aloud

pointing at the gate and they all looked at her

”Igwe deal with her as you wish” Emetamma

said and Ada became afraid walking closer

becomeing more afraid.

”Dike, bring her here” Igwe ordered and Dike

rushed to get Ada but Onochie’s voice stopped

him

”Don’t you dare touch her!!’ Onochie said with

an angry voice banging the gate and Dike

stoped immediately. Without talking to anyone

and to the surprise of everyone, Onochie

walked towards Ada, he held her by the hand

and brought down her gallon of water from her

head.

”Where is it kept?’ He asked Ada and in great

fear on the present and future, Ada shakingly

pointed at the backyard and Onochie carried

the gallon of water still holding Ada to the

backyard.

”Stay here. I will handle this I promise”

Onochie said to Ada as they got to the backyard

but Ada’s mind wasn’t at peace at all as she was

calculating the marathon beating that she will

receive if the Igwe leaves… As all these were

going on, Charles stood on a spot with his hands

folded saying nothing as he was supporting

Onochie’s actions
