STILL IN THE COUNCIL ROOM**

Igwe gave silence as an answer to the question

of which Onowu asked

“Igwe, you are not saying anything” Onowu said

and

other elders looked at him already knowing

what he is going to say. “Eerhmmm.. My

elders” Igwe began and kept quiet again

“Igwe talk ooh.. Tell them where my Son is

ooh” Lolo said with a loud angry voice

“Lolo, please take it easy. We are not yet

fighting” Maazi Ukaegbu said and Igwe looked

at all

of them one after the other

“I locked him up” Igwe said boldly feeling very

right for what he did

‘What??!!!’ The elders exclaimed

‘Abomination!!’ Some added

‘Igwe mba nu!! (No)’ Emetamma said

‘You can’t do such a thing to the heir apparent’

Ukaegbu added

‘Igwe, it’s not right’ Onowu added on his own

manner let alone the Heir’ Onowu said as

everywhere became a bit calm

‘Tell him, he doesn’t know that’ Lolo said and

the Igwe looked at her suspiciously

‘You all would have allowed me say what he did

before nailing me to the cross’ Igwe said and

the elders looked at each other

‘Alright, since you have nothing to say. Let me

tell you’ Igwe began

‘We all recalled the agreement between Us and

The King of Omambala?’ Igwe asked

‘Of Course we do Igwe’ They all said

‘Good’ Igwe said adjusting his sitting posture

‘My Son refused to stick to it claiming to love a

common maiden of this village’ Igwe said

‘Heii!!’ Ukaegbu exclaimed

‘Does he wants us to back to the pit we were

brought out from?’ Egbuna asked

‘If you think I am lying, then wait’ Igwe said still

looking at Lolo who was not happy at all

‘Dike!!’ Igwe called his favourite guard and he

ran in immediately

‘Go and get Onochie for me’ Igwe said and he

left. Few minutes later, he arrived with

Onochie. On seeing him, Lolo ran and

embraced him cleaning the dusts on his body

qs everybody looked at him.

‘My Prince, is the complaint of your Father

true?’ Onowu asked looking at the Prince who

wasn’t even concerned about what they came

for.

‘I don’t know what he told you, but yes, it’s all

true and I Stand on that’ Onochie said boldly

with a deep eyes and the Elders exclaimed

‘You see what I’m talking about’ Igwe said

confirming his actions to be right

‘I placed him there for him to regain his senses

but he hasn’t’ Igwe said

‘Eerhhm.. Igwe’ Onowu called

‘Harsh treatment won’t solve this matter here’

Onowu began

‘We learnt he is not feeding fine by your orders

and that will make him more angry than he was

before. Igwe biko, please’ Onowu pleaded and

all the elders pretended Kneeling down. On

seeing that, Igwe stood up and stopped them

‘Far be it that my elders kneel before me. I will

grant your plea’ Igwe said

‘Guard, take him and clean him Up. Refresh

him’ Igwe said to Dike and he left with

Onochie. Lolo smiled broadly thanking the

Elders. She went to her husban and thanked

him also

‘Thank You My husband’ She said and ran after

Onochie and the guard

‘You see Igwe, she is now happy’ Emetamma

said but Igwe was still not too happy. He forced

out a smile and frowned his face immediately.

‘We all must see this maiden that is deceiving

my Son and warn her and her Parents’ Igwe

said..

‘But Igwe, how do we know this Girl’ Onowu

asked supported by Emetamma. Just then, Dike

came in

‘Is the car ready?’ Igwe asked

‘Yes Your Highness’ Dike replied and Igwe

began to walk outside followed by the elders

who murmured amongst each other. On seeing

this, Charles ran up the staircase to inform

Onochie…

He barged in immediately and saw Onochie,

Lolo and Nnenna all Entertaining Onochie. On

looking at Charles face, Onochie depicted

something

‘What is it?’ Lolo asked

‘It’s nothing mother. I just came to see my

brother. I have missed him alot’ Charles

pretended

‘Was that why you barged in like that?’ Lolo

asked again as his first reply wasn’t satisfactory

‘The excitement was too much on me mother’

Charles said and suceeded in brainwashing Lolo

”Alright, Nnenna let’s leave them for now” Lolo

said and they left. Immediately they left,

Charles locked the door

”You lied right?” Onochie asked Charles as he

came and sat by him

”No time for that Bro. Your Father is on his way

to Ada’s house to create a scene there” Charles

said and Onochie was shocked

”No, he can’t do that” Onochie said

” How did he know her place?” Onochie asked

further

”That I can’t tell, but I suspect that D.. Di…

What’s that his name again” Charles thought of

Dike’s name as he couldn’t pronounce it

”D--k or what?” Charled asked himself

”Dike??’ Onochie helped him

”Yeah Bro, you got it.. Dike, the guard” Charles

said

”I will surely be his worse night mare if I find it

to be true” Onochie sais and stood up

immediatelty undressing himself

”Where are you going to?” Charles asked

”Ada’s house of course!” Onochie replied

looking serious

”What?’ Charles asked looking shocked and

confused….
