A Twist of Fate - S02 E10

Dike still in shock of the words of Onochie drew

back. Igwe looked at Charles who didn’t look at

him and then he looked towards the direction

of the backyard. Everybody was speechless

mopping at each other. As Igwe tried walking to

the backyard, Onochie came out with his

glasses on his eyes, no smiles on his face at all.

Getting closer, he removed the glasses.

”Dad, you don’t have to punish the poor girl for

what she knows nothing about” Onochie said

standing in front of his father

”Onochie, what was that nonsense you just did?’

Igwe asked

”You saw it Dad” Onochie sais

”If there is any punishment to be given. I

deserve that.

Give it to me and I will happily

accept it Dad. Afterall, She never came begging

me, I loved her willingly” Onochie said

”No one should lay any hands on her if you

wish me to think of accepting what you told

me” Onochie said boldly as a trick to make his

father leave. On hearing that, Igwe calmed

down a bit but he didn’t show any sign of relief

”Do you see the kind of Son I have” Igwe said

to the elders who were already shocked to a

stand still.. Onochie wore back his dark glasses

and took a step, he stopped at that step and

turned to Emetamma and his family

”Anyone that lays a finger on that girl will have

me to contend with” Onochie concluded and

walked off

”Let’s go Chally” He said to Charles and they

left. A great exclamation was heard from the

elders as words couldn’t explain the action of

Onochie.

Emetamma folded his hands as his

plan of beating Ada to a Pop that afternoon has

been ruined

”I will take my leave now” Igwe said after a

little while of speechless murmurs and sounds.

Igwe left with the elders. Dike opened up the

gate and they walked out. Ge rushed and

opened the door of the Car and the Igwe

entered. Other Elders including the Onowu

went home from Emetamm’s house. Dike

drove Igwe back to the Palace…

”Heiii!!! Nna anyi eeh!” Nwanneka exclaimed

”Did you see what just happened?” She asked

him but Emetamma didn’t reply, rather he

went and sat down.

”Papa, this insult has gotten out of hand”

Olamma said

”Why not call Ada here and beat her to death!!”

Ugomma said

‘Eeeh??? Isi gini? (What did you just say?)’

Emetamma asked

”Yes Papa, let’s show her that we have been

insulted. She has insulted this family” Obinna

said

”See, let me warn all of you. Nobody should do

anything to that girl today oooh” Emetamma

said

”But why Papa?’ Ugomma asked as Emetamma

sounded strange

”Or has she bewitched you also?’ Nwanneka

asked

”Are you all blind?? Were you not here when

the Prince was warning even his father not to

touch that witch” Emetamma said

”That was a mere threat Papa” Olamma said

”ehee?? Mere threat you call it with that sort of

eyes he has” Emetamma said

”I am not among all of you. My Life is still

important to me” Emetamma said and walked

inside.

”Papa!! Papa!! You must do something about

this ooh” They all follwed him inside with an

unsatisfied mind. Ada was at the corner of the

backyard listening to all their conversation with

a skipping heart. When she discovered that she

will not be beaten, she calmed down a bit and

sat on the floor.

”Thank You” She said to thin air referring it to

Onochie. Nwanneka came to the backyard and

saw her sitting on the floor

”What are you doing there?” She asked Ada

harshly which shocked Ada

”Nothing Nne” Ada said

”Go and prepare dinner. Idiot!!” Nwanneka

ordered her rudely

”Ook Nne” Ada said and went into the kitchen

”Ashawo 5 Kobo” Nwanneka insulted Ada and

walked inside but Ada didn’t care about her

insults. She gathered fire woods and began to

prepare for dinner..

Onochie and Charles were already home been

cross examined by Lolo who never knew where

they and the Igwe went to..

”Where went you?’ Lolo asked them but they

said nothing

”I have been asking you questions for the past

minutes and no one wants to reply me!!!’ Lolo

said angrily as they stood at the main entrance

door into the Palace. Guards and maidens

stylishly listened to them. Just immediqtely

Igwe’s car drove in. Dike came out immediately

and opened the door for Igwe and Igwe came

down immediately. On seeing him, Lolo left

Onochie and walked to him;

”Igwe, where did you and your children go to?’

She asked but Igwe walked past her

‘Why isn’t anybody talking to me!!!’ She

exclaimed and Dike walked past her also. Lolo

angrily followed them. On reaching the point

where Onochie and Charles stood, Igwe

stopped and looked at Onochie.

”Igwe, what is it again?” Lolo asked

”Ask your Son woman, afterall you made him

come out of that dungeon” Igwe said and

walked in

”Onochie, please talk to me” Lolo said but

Onochie ignored her and also left. Charles

followed him immediately not needing any

questions from anybody.

”Somebody must talk to me’ Lolo said and

followed them immediately. The guards and

maidens began their gossips.;
