Bosco’s POV

“It’s not what it seems” I tried to explain.

“I don’t understand” she answered,

“I wasn’t exactly….” I paused,

“Planning to propose yet” she completed.

“But I’ve seen it already. Bosco this is good news”

“I wanted to do this after getting my treatment”

“It doesn’t matter dear, we can get married anyways. Bosco I don’t care, I love you and I’m ready to endure through this for you”

This left me speechless.

The big smile on her face, if I told her the ring wasn’t hers, it would be like taking candy from a baby- not the literal meaning

I meant she would cry and accuse me of cheating to have made such decisions.

“I can’t wait to inform everyone about this. Sweetheart we have to start making wedding plans. I need to call the event planner” she inserted the ring into her finger.

“What’s the rush?” I asked,

I couldn’t exactly break her heart.

“I’m not rushing dear. If I’m rushing you’ll know” she answered then she squeaked happily.

“I can’t wait to tell everyone. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter will hear me!” She screamed and Madam Jane walked in.

“Is everything okay?” She asked and I saw her give Isabel a disapproving look

“Bosco just proposed to me” she stretched out her hands at him.

“I didn’t”

“But you were going to anyways. We’ll be getting married very soon” She placed her palm on my chest.

“Are you sure about this?” Madam Jane asked and Isabel took offense.

“What do you mean by that?” She asked,

“I didn’t ask you the question Bella, Bosco are you sure of what you’re doing?” She asked and I freezed.

I didn’t know how to explain that this was all one big misunderstanding. I had tears in my eyes.

“We’ve been together for a year now, he’s very sure”

“Congratulations then” she answered leaving the room with a doubtful look.

“Are you sure she doesn’t like you?” Isabel asked and I scoffed.

“She doesn’t. She’s just looking out for me”

“She’s not your mom okay? When would they be leaving? We’ll be getting married soon you know”

“My siblings, niece and nephew would be coming soon”

“Honey don’t tell me they’ll be staying here”

“I’m sorry but for the time being. While I get to know them, they’ll be staying here.”

Sommy’s POV

After the shocking revelation made by Madam Jane about Isabel. I became seriously disturbed.

I thought of how I would talk to Bosco concerning it. I knew this was a breakthrough for us.

Finally I saw a possibility of having something with Bosco. Then I thought of how cheesy it would look reporting it to him.

“How would it make me look?” I asked Filda,

“It would make you look like someone who likes him sincerely, don’t even let him waste his time with that Isabel again”

After I closed from work, I had plans of seeing Bosco but I got a call from someone I less expected. Amanda called me.

She said she was at my aunt’s house. I had to rush over to meet her.

When I got there, I was told she was inside my room waiting for me.

“Why would she be inside my room?” I asked and I saw aunt shrug.

“I don’t know”

“Are you sure she’s not on a mission to kill me?”

“I don’t know but she’s waiting for you”

“If I don’t come out in the next ten minutes, come in” I requested and she laughed.

I walked in through the door, I thought of things that could possibly happen.

She was sitting on my bed.

“Hey” I greeted like a complete stranger then i waved at her.

“Hey” she stood, I saw her raise up a shopping bag.

“What do you have there? Knifes and swords?” I asked and she pulled out a bottle of vodka.

“Are you supposed to use that in smashing my head?”

“You wish” she answered then she opened it.

“What are we celebrating?” I asked and she shrugged.

“My enlightenment. And no, it’s not poisoned” she added putting her lips on the bottle then she drank it.

A grimace spreads across her face.

What if this was a suicide mission to kill herself and me too?

“And no, i’m not trying to kill myself and kill you too. I’m not that suicidal.” She answered as though reading my mind.

“I want to live long enough to see Bob pay for laughing at me” she answered.

“I’ll drink to that” I collected the bottle drinking from it too.

I groaned from the effect of drinking it.

“That’s some crazy shit” I blurted out and she chuckled.

I haven’t drank in a while.

“I’m sorry I didn’t believe you. I was so blind. I thought Bob loved me”

“Have you spoken to Jerome?”

“No… I don’t want to. He’s also in this” she answered sitting in bed.

“Bob and I, we can’t reconcile even though he wants to”

“He had the guts to ask for reconciliation?”

“Yeah and honestly I was tempted to accept because I can’t bear the thought of being alone and I’m twenty nine for crying out loud, how would I go back to being single and how would everyone look at me?”

“What does it matter what people think?” I asked with a gentle shrug.

“After all, you’ll be the one that gets to be in the cheating relationship. For crying out loud, he has a pregnant mistress!”

“That’s the painful part” she drank from the bottle.

“Why haven’t you two had kids?”

“I’m fine, the test we did all came out fine, we were simply waiting for God’s time but he couldn’t wait.”

“It all made sense you know, Bob was out for my wealth and I was so stupid to realize it. I was so stupid”

“I was stupid to realize Joshua was cheating too. Girls can be idiots atimes. We’re soft and vulnerable, it’s what makes us girls. We fall foolishly”

“Who’s going to fall for me again?” She asked and I moved closer grabbing the bottle from her,

“In a world full of square head idiots and assholes and cheats named Bob” I took a drink and she chuckled.

“There are other round head shaped hotties, I mean good guys who are waiting to meet girls like you.”

“I’m not you. You’re pretty and thin. I’m fat and ugly”

“You’re still pretty even though I won’t deny that I’m pretty” I bragged and she laughed once more.

I was starting to slur on my words. I was already getting drunk.

“You’re one hot and s*xy Mama, Bob was too blind to see it. Do you know how ugly the b---h she left you for is? She’s not even worth it.”

“You think so?”

“I’m sure, I mean I saw her and she’s one ugly b---h. Bob doesn’t even know beauty even if beauty slapped him on the face.” I dropped the bottle then placed my palm on her cheek.

“Listen to me Amanda, listen and listen good.” I paused trying to remember the point I was trying to make.

“I forgot my point already” I laughed to myself and she joined in.

“To all those people who may think badly about you for not enduring the guiles of a cheating marriage, tell them to go screw themselves!”

“I decided to file for the divorce”

My aunt opened the door.

“Just checking to see if everything was okay. I’ll leave then” she left closing the door.

“I know it must hurt so much” I said in sympathy.

“It hurts like hell. I’ve given him three years of my life.”

“I gave Joshua four years of my life and three years of my v*gina. It’s annoying”

“How did you heal?”

“It was easier than I thought it would be” I confessed,

“I fell in love again”

“Who’s this unfortunate fella?” She asked and I giggled.

“You’ve met him already, Bosco Bishop”

“You’ve always had the hot guys” she snapped.

“Does he like you?”

“He said he does, but he has a girlfriend. We have a complicated relationship. We’ve kissed severally”

“He cheats too?”

“Yes, he wants to break up with her but I want to be sure he likes me for me and not because I turn him on”

Amanda had a confused look on her face.

I’ve already broken my secrecy code. It won’t hurt to let one more person know would it?

Amanda advised I tell him earlier about Isabel’s affair, else he would get angry with me if he finds out I knew and didn’t tell him.

I decided to make that the first thing I did the next day.

My phone blasted with calls the next morning. I was too hung over to pick up. I pulled my phone from where I laid in bed then I managed to pick it up blindly.

“Good morning” I said to the caller,

“There’s nothing good about the morning Sommy” I heard Madam Jane say,

she sounded uneasy.

“Are you okay?” I asked,

“No. Didn’t you let Bosco know about Isabel?”

“I’ll do it today”

“Bosco just proposed to Isabel and they’re getting married soon”

The news made my heart sink, I was completely sober that moment.

“How’s that possible?” I asked,

“I don’t know.”

“He claims he loves me but he had the effrontery to propose to his girlfriend” I managed blinking back my tears back.

“Sommy I have to tell him. We have to fix things, we have to fix this mistake. We both know Bosco is making a huge mistake”

“I’ll call you back Ma” I hung up busting into tears.

I couldn’t withhold it any longer.

“I’m an idiot!” I snapped,

“You said it yourself, all girls are idiots” I heard Amanda muffled in bed.

Then I sat down sobbing.

“Joshua fooled me once I took it good faith, but being fooled twice.”

“What happened?” She rose up from the bed,

“Bosco proposed to the girlfriend” I said laying emphasis on ‘the girlfriend’.

“They’re getting married”

“This doesn’t make sense, I thought you said he wanted you”

“He said he did”

“That man doesn’t look like a liar”

“Trust me we all get to find out new things about our men everyday” I answered trying to control my tears.

“My heart is” I paused pressing my chest, the pain I felt that moment, it was as though I was being stabbed .

“I’m sorry” Amanda hugged me, then suggested that i talk to Bosco about it.

“I don’t even want to see him”

“You two should talk”

My phone rang, I checked the caller ID, it had Bosco on it.
