It was the car of Aunty Stella’s car entering the compound that woke me up,l flew up from my bed checked the time it was 8pm,Jesus!! So have been sleeping for hours,am dead o,I ran ri the sitting room to check on the kids,they were in the sitting room watching Disney, thank God o,I said to myself…

Then I remembered what happened in the afternoon, it was then I knew am still in trouble, am still going to receive my beating….. The door opened…

Me:scared…welcome ma.

Aunty Stella:thank you.

This one she is calm and also replying me,as she forgotten ni,I pray o.

Aunty Stella:have u cooked dinner?

Me:no ma.

Aunty Stella: but why?

Me:you didn’t tell me what to Cook before leaving ma.

Aunty Stella:in an angry voice ..why would I tell u ehn,when all you know is to peep and spy,tell me why didn’t u knock before banging the door open this afternoon ehn,you want to see what’s going on abi..

Me:stammering,n–o ma..I didn’t do it deliberately,I honestly forgot.

Aunty Stella:God saved you,if not for James that begged on your behalf,I would have beaten u to death,so you can as well go and meet your miserable family where they are…idiot.

I felt bad because she mentioned my family, she even called them miserable, seriously is when you are alive you will think people like you,they will be scared to talk back about u especially if they are gaining something from you at that moment,but when you are no more most of them will talk bad about you.

I could remember back then,mum always give aunty Stella money and alot of things, mom treated her like a sister, now she have the gut to call them miserable….

Aunty Stella: bath my kids and go to your room,I don’t want to see your stupid face around.

Me:in tears….yes ma.

I bathed the kids and pet them to sleep…i went to my room very hungry and weak,so I will sleep on empty stomach, God y is Aunty Stella so mean,she fed herself and her children,but me I will sleep on empty stomach, I just hope I won’t die before tomorrow morning due to hunger, I cried and forced myself to sleep….

I woke up as early as 6am the following morning which was a Monday, I was so weak due to the fact that I didn’t eat last night, I reluctantly start cleaning the house, I swept and clean everywhere, went to the kids room to get them prepared for school, I bath them and madr cornflakes for them,dressed them, put them on the chair cus it was just 7:00am and thier school starts by 7:30am…I went to aunty Stella room to ask her what’s for breakfast….

I knocked on the door to avoid the same mistake..

Aunty Stella:who is that?

Me:keji ma.

Aunty Stella: what do you want?

Nawa o,she didn’t even ask me to come in,anyhow sha.

Me:I came to ask you what u want me to cook for breakfast

Aunty Stella:cook rice and warm the stew in the fridge, hope my kids are set for school?

Me:yes ma.

Aunty Stella:drop them at school when you are done cooking.

Me:ok ma.

I left her room and went straight to the kitchen, cooked the rice and warm the stew,I quickly served myself cus I was about to worn out,I devoured it as quick as possible and took the kids to school…..

On getting back home,I met aunty Stella in the sitting room all dressed,seems she is going out….where she wan go if no be those her fuckboys place, we all know she is not working,full housewife..Mtcheew..I thought in my mind…

Aunty Stella:keji am going out now and will be back later in the evening.

Me:ok ma.

She was about leaving but she turned back again,it seems she forgot something.

Aunty Stella:ehn ehn,am also expecting James, when he comes tell him to wait for me.

Me:ok ma.

She left to the sitting room,and I also went to my room,all I heard was her car moving out of the compound…..
