Mr. Ekun, Emmanuella, Ekeinde and Mrs. Ekun got into the car and rushed to the Main Prison, Ikeja. They got into the Prison compound looking dishevelled. Some policemen stopped them and questioned them.

Policeman: What are you people doing here? (with no respect or manner of approach).

Mr. Ekun: My daughter, My daughter! Where is she?

Policeman: Who is your daughter? (sighs) who do you think you are to walk up here and ask me about your daughter.

Ekeinde: Sir, Emilia Ekun.

Policeman: Hahaha!!! That one that killed her husband or is it another Emilia.

Emmanuella: Mind the way you talk about my sister, uniformed man of Nigeria.

Mrs. Ekun: Please officer tell us her whereabout, time is going.

Policeman: (Not minding Mrs. Ekun) I should mind the way i talk to your sister’s corpse because her ghost can slap me. (Throws another round of laughter).

Mr. Ekun: (Holds him by his shirt) Young man please where is my daughter?

Policeman: So as elderly as you are you don’t even understand Idioms. Your daughter is dead.

Mr. Ekun: That’s not true, my daughter is not dead, tell me where she is. ( As he is still enquiring about his daughter’s whereabout, the D.P.O enters to find out the cause of the noise because the Prison yard was becoming noisy with the Ekun’s presence).

D.P.O: Good day sir, please what’s going on here?

Mr. Ekun: Good day D.P.O, please i came to enquire about the whereabout of my daughter.

D.P.O: Her name?

Mrs. Ekun: Emilia Ekun.

D.P.O: (Brings out a paper from his pocket and checks) She was charged for murder?

Mrs. Ekun: Yes she was.

D.P.O: I’m sorry she must have been killed or almost killed by now,in the next 5 minutes, the policemen should come here with the feedback. Since the I.G.P is there i don’t think they would even waste time because he is a great man of influence.

******************

Stop! Stop! Stop! The unknown voice repeated. Normally the policemen who were chosen to engage in firing squad don’t usually hearken to the ‘Stop-Cry’ because they had a chance to show their shooting prowess but Today’s case was different, they turned back, even the Inspector General turned back to see three men, the one in the middle looked different from the others and it was obvious he was the one that shouted ‘stop!’ and he arrived before the other two men. The man in the middle had a gap in his teeth, he was fair, tall and average in width. He wore an all-black attire, black shirt, black trouser and black trainers. He had a dusty ring on his finger and bright sharp eyes. His name was Mr. Ebuka Eze. The other two men were Dr. Evbagharu and Dr. Emma.

Ebuka: Stop, leave Emilia alone, leave my wife alone.

Everybody seeing me now, should listen and listen attentively. I am Ebuka Eze, the person you thought was dead, and for the person you want to murder an innocent person. (Shouts of Ghost rented the air from some spectators who knew him). If you think i’m a ghost someone bold enough should walk up to me and pour me some grains of sand ( A young guy though shaking poured him an handful of sand and nothing happened). You see i’m not a ghost. You policemen derive pleasure in murdering people, imagine if i was dead and someone murdered me,then this policemen murder the murderer, did the policemen not commit the same crime, do they not also deserve to die? You smile showing your level of experience in pulling the trigger at strategic positions and you are proud that you just spilled the blood of someone. Do you know about 5-15 % of the people killed everyday by Firing squad, Electric chair or hanging are innocent. Now tell me what you gain.

Dr. Evbagharu: Few days after we thought Ebuka died we tried to check something in him, by that time we hadn’t taken him to the mortuary because his family members hadn’t granted us permission. We were surprised he wasn’t decaying he was still looking fresh.

Only I and Dr. Emma discovered it, so we used a Micro-stethoscope to measure his heartbeat and we discovered that he had about 0.1 heartbeat per second, he was almost lifeless. That amount of heartbeat was too small for a normal stethoscope to read it. We even thought he would still die because the heartbeat was too low. We took him to my house at Ikoyi and started examining and treating him. We started given him blood sometimes twice every minute, we took some blood from the blood bank almost every hour, because the blood in the hospital was too much. We gave him vegetables, folic acids and pasteurized animal R.B.C ,W.B.C and plasma via injection, We were just doing it as our own experiment we didn’t tell anybody, we thought he would not make it. We did not want to raise the hope of his family and then shatter it again.
