The Black Maria was driven by a police sergeant, he drove towards Ikoyi from Ikeja. The journey lasted almost two hours due to bad road. All through Emilia’s stay in the car, she was weeping and praying for God’s intervention in her case. The sergeant drove into a sole empty, approximately (100* 100) m plot of land. Some Mahogany strong stakes numbering about 8 were in place, ropes were also hanging loosely on the stakes. Everything was in place. ‘The Governor wants to see you’ Emilia remembered the policeman’s last word before they arrived there, about 3 minutes from their arrival, a white Toyota Tundra entered, Emilia thought it was the governor but it wasn’t , rather a Man in Grey and Black Uniform came out, some policemen also came out from the Tundra. The man saluted and all other policemen saluted back, he was the Inspector General of Police, Inspector Etuk. Some big-headed photographers and Camcorder men also arrived to enrich their pockets with they were able to capture and record.

Barr. Ebere wake up and sees the closest person to her, Dr. Emma. She was surprised that she had been in the d--n hospital for more than a week. She shouts loudly because she can’t even hear herself.

Barr. Ebere: Doctor, what i’m i doing here?

Dr. Emma: You had an accident, so we’re still monitoring you (He slapped his face when he remembered she was deaf and smiled).

Barr. Ebere: Fool, why are you dumb? You can’t even produce a single sound. I’ve never seen a dumb Doctor in all my Life, this Hospital must be a trash can.

Dr. Emma: (was scribbling something on a plain sheet as fast as he could) Take, read this note.

Barr. Ebere: (reading) I am not dumb, you are deaf and your Legs aren’t in good shape. Bloody Liar! (she didn’t even realize her voice was amplified). See (she tries to come down from the bed but falls back to the bed).

Dr. Emma: What kind of woman is this, even in ailment she’s tough. She must had been a thorn in the flesh to her husband.

Barr. Ebere: Idiot, what did you do to me, tell me what you did to me? (other patients in the ward were scared and some doctors from other wards came to see what was the cause of the noise and rowdiness.

Dr. Evbagharu: why is she shouting?

Dr. Emma: This is the lady, i told you had a fractured femur and mal-functioningAuditory canal.

Dr. Evbagharu: Oh Barr. Ebere, i see. The mother of that guy that died here. (He leaves with the other trains of Doctors and Dr. Emma tries to call Mr. Eze but he wasn’t reachable).

Dr. Emma: oh God, i’m so stressed up ( As if Mr. Eze was aware of the call, he entered the hospital with Eric).

Mr. Eze: Good morning Doctor.

Dr. Emma: Good morning sir, so are you ready to sign the paper that she should be amputated.

Mr. Eze: Hmm! (takes a deep breath) Yes!

Barr. Ebere: Eric how are you? Ernest what did you and this Evil Doctor do to me (Doing the reverse of Total Internal Anger, if i may say, moving from a less dense angry mood to a denser angry mood).

Eric: I’m fine mum.( Mr. Eze didn’t bother answering his wife).

Barr. Ebere: Chai! What happened to all of you,why are all of you dumb, your mouths are just moving but you can’t produce a single sound. God please help them oh.

Mr. Eze: Give me the papers Doctor ( Dr. Emma hands them over to him and he signed it briskly and handed it back to Dr. Emma).

Barr. Ebere: You guys don’t want to answer…….(Before she could utter another word, the sharp pain of the syringe needle containing Trichloromethane (chloroform) made her unconscious, Dr. Emma needed to hurry because the anaesthetic won’t last for long, Mr. Eze left the theatre because he was not Man enough to see the operation, Eric also left. Dr. Emma was a very good surgeon. If you don’t have mind,please don’t read this post.

He used a sharp but small pen knife and the femur (Fore-leg above the knee cap (patella) out, the leg was already getting rotten and the bones were pouring like grains of sand. An extremely dark blood poured out from the dorsal end, some Housefly Larvaes (Maggots) were also in the black blood, the leg was hoozing (smelling) badly and Dr. Emma put his nose-mask well in place, he scraped out some rotten matter and some dead tissues out of the leg, before this he made sure that he had removed all her jewelleries. He did the same for the second leg but some blood sells were dying, so some blood cells containing maggot splashed on his green coat. He disinfected the leg with some dil. Ethanol before putting a steel pole on her leg region and after he put a wider pole also and screwed them to the patella and pelvic girdle, he also fixed a steel shoe-shaped metal to act as the tarsals, metatarsals and phalanges.

Emilia and other people were already tied to the stake, they were all asked to say their last prayers. They were all christians apart from the Fulani man who begged for his life, that he had no religion and it was his first time of partaking in the act. It was Emilia’s turn to pray, after saying her own prayer, the inspector gave the order.

Inspector Etuk: Attention Everybody take your positions (the policemen arranged) Okay fire!!!

Stop !!! ( An unknown voice shouted from behind).
