~~Outside the court room.~~

Mr. Eze: So you’ve succeeded in your evil ploy?

Barr.Ebere: I’ve got no time for talks old man,you guys can go home,i want to quickly go to the market. (she takes her car and drives towards the market across the court road, Mr. Eze is quiet and grief-stricken as he watches his wife drive out. As Barr.Ebere drives she plays an afro-pop music,dancing as she is driving,suddenly she tries to hold her break as a trailer conveying Coca-cola drinks is driving straight towards her but her break fails her,she tries to negotiate and drive into the other lane but it’s too late as the two vehicles collide together and the next thing is a bloody black-out.

The market people rush towards the accident scene shouting and wailing. But is this really nemesis or a co-incidence? They carry the bodies out of the vehicles,unfortunately only one is unconscious ; Barr. Ebere. The car is totally battered.

1 day Later

~~Emilia’s cell~~

Warden: Shey i been tell you say make you follow me run the other day but you no gree?

Emilia: Please can you give me some space (she talks calmly with tears in her eyes).

Warden: He be like say you no know say he remain one week for you to kpeme’ (die).

Emilia: Leave me (she shouts) . God is this my fate, to die for something i know nothing of or should i just exercise patient and have faith in you? Why me God, God why me ? (she says amidst tears).

~~Mr. Ekun’s House~~

Mr.Ekun: The Devil just won a gold medal, now my daughter is paying with her life because of that witch; Barrister Ebere.

Mrs. Ekun: (cries) I have faith in God, he won’t let me down,he won’t put us to shame.

Mr. Ekun: All you know is God, God, God!!! Where was God when Barr. Ebere won the case in court,where was God when my daughter was sentenced to death by firing squad, Tell me where is God? God where are you? (Barks angrily).

Emmanuella: Daddy don’t lose faith in God,i know he would not fail us.

Barr. Efosa: Ekun my friend,the only hope we have now is to put our trust in God, Ekun don’t be the 21st century’s Job wife, don’t lose faith.

Barr. Ebere has shown us the stuff she’s made of by bribing the Judge, who foolishly heeded to her biddings. God is the highest magistrate, he would surely vindicate Emilia. Let’s just keep praying and see how the drama unfolds.

Mr. Ekun: Thank you, though i think all hopes are lost and praying for a lost case is a mumbo-jumbo,let me just give it a try. Shall we pray?
