Principal:” Mark you are the only student that have the key to this lab, did you have a hand in this?”

Mark:” No sir”

Principal: ” OK let’s have your keys ” he said, Mark walked to his class and came back some minutes later with the keys, he handed then to the principal”

Principal:” Hmm they are complete” he said. Mrs Jagun also brought out and Keys and they were complete.

Principal:” Then how on earth did they enter the lab?” He asked us but the students just kept quiet.

Mrs Jagun:”Sir, what about you own keys?” She asked the principal.

Principal:” They are in my office” he said as he came down the platform to get the keys. He came back some minutes later looking weird.

Principal:”I can’t find my keys” he shouted and the students were now thrown into confusion

Principal:” Mark you can go, the person who did it used my key.” He said now frowning.

Mrs Jagun:”Anyone that has done this should better open up now before we fish you out the hard way” she threatened but no one owned up.

Principal:” okay in that case, I will want all the teachers to search all the students bags, the person who had stolen the key will still have it with him/ herself, I brought the keys to the school this morning. Some teachers should also stay at their doors to search them as the march in ” he said while the student shouted in agreement. We were finally dismissed to go to the class,we were searched at the door and some teachers were already there waiting for us in our classes to search our bag so that the culprit does not get a chance of removing the recorder. Miss Linda was the one posted to search our class.

Miss Linda:” No one should move, all of you should seat down” she said as we took our positions.

Miss Linda:”Drop your bags on the table, let me not see your hand moving” she said again and we obeyed. She started the searching from back but it was fruitless, she then finally got to my desk.

Charles:” please excuse me ma, Mrs Jagun sent for me earlier today” he said

Miss Linda: ” OK Charles you can go, I have already searched you.”she replied while Charles walked out, I smiled to him, and he smiled back, I knew what his mission was, he was searched at the door again.

Miss Linda:” Hugine let me have your bag, although I trust my boy” she said touching my back while I gave her my bag. She searched it and found nothing.

Miss Linda: ” Sandra, let me have yours”

Sandra:” Why will you sea…”

Miss Linda:” Am not requesting for it, am asking you to give me, you have no option” she said as she took Sandra bag.

Miss Linda:” Jesus!!!! ” she shouted as she brought out the keys from Sandra bag, ” unbelievable” the class murmured while Sandra left her mouth opened.

Sandra:” Its a lie ma, I Didnt take the keys” she shouted at Miss Linda.

Sandra:” Maybe you put it in my bag.” She said while Miss Linda slapped her.

Miss Linda:”Your end has come, where are the recorders? Why am I even asking you, this is enough evidence.” she said as she walked out of the class and then Charles walked in. The question is what really happened? Did Sandra really take the keys? The answer is No she didn’t, I did. How did it happen?

FLASH BACK

After the match with the Fisher’s last week Friday, during the jubilation period, I dragged mark to a corner to talk to him.

Me:”Senior Mark, nice match”

Mark:” Yes o, you are the real player.”

Me:” so any development concerning the recorders?” I asked

Mark:”No, but I plan taking it when I clean the lab on Monday. Come early on Monday so that I can give it to you.” He said.

Me:”Oh thanks Man, please how does the lab key look like?”

Mark:”Ah ah, the lab key is the only key in the school that has the inscription Italy on it, it has a flat bottom.” He said.

Me:”OK, thanks.”I told him.

Mark:”Hope no problem?”

Me:”No there isn’t any problem” I said and walked to continue with the Jubilation,before leaving to get my bag in School. I got to school early today and true to his word, Mark gave me the stuff, that was mission one accomplished. I then went to the Principal office for mission two.

Me:”Good morning sir” I greeted as I entered the office, he looked up at me and shaked his head.

Principal:” Anytime I see you in the morning, the day is always full of trouble.” He said .

Me:” Am sorry sir, I came to apologize for all my evil doings,I want to change” I said surprising him.

Principal: ” You!!! This is good news you…” His phone interrupted him, someone was calling him, I looked at the phone and smiled.

Principal:” Hello, you mean it is an important call, I should be in somewhere private? ” he asked the caller at the other end as he stood up to go out.

Principal: “Just some minutes my boy” he said to me smiling and went out. Now another question, who really called him. It was no one else other than my sis Eunice, this was how we planned it during the weekend.

Me:”Eunice, I will need you to help me in this my mission ” I told her that morning.

Eunice:”Help you as how?” She asked me.

Me:” what you will do is something small,I only need you to help me call the principal ”

Eunice:”For what? Why?”

Me:” I want to use it as a kind of distraction for him so that he can leave the office, I want to steal the lab’s key” I told her while she stood staring at me .

Eunice:” OK, then what do I tell him”

Me:” Just tell him it is something private, by then I will be in the office so he might go out to answer the call”

Eunice:”Rubbish, how will I know of you are in the office?”

Me:”Just call him by 7:35am, that will be some minutes to the assembly, I will be there by 7:30am.” I told her while she smiled.

Eunice:” You are a real criminal, I Dont have the principal number o”

Me:” I will give you one of my notes, his number is on it, am using the school book.”

Eunice:” OK bro” she said as we chopped knuckles, that was our signal for “mission start.” So the principal went out and I looked inside his drawer and saw different keys, in bunch, there was a bunch that was made up of keys which had the inscription Italy on it and a flat bottom. I carried the key and kept it in my pocket as I awaited the principal. He came back about a minute later.

Principal:” Foolish caller, she just called to ask me if am the manager of Eko Hotel, they will be calling wrong number” he said as he entered. ” my sister isn’t foolish o” I said to myself.

Principal:” Am so surprised Gabriel, so you mean you know want to play along with us?” He asked while I nodded.

Principal:” OK I will talk to Mrs Jagun and Sandra and get back to you” he said smiling.

Me:” OK sir” I said.

Principal:” Sandra told me you took her recorder..”

Me:”Sir I promise to give it back, I misplaced it at home but I will look for it ” I said and went to the class, and that was when mark told me Mrs Jagun wanted to see me. I was alone in class at the beginning of the break and that was the time I planted the Keys in her bag just like she planted the script in kemi’s bag. ” what goes around comes around.”. Now that was my mission but it is not yet completed because I haven’t implicated Mrs Jagun and the principal but Charles is on the verge of doing that now, he had gone out during the search to Mrs Jagun’s office and had come back minute later smiling, I just pray its mission completed.
