” I said who said that? ” the man shouted again, this time his shout attracted the other inspectors and they all rushed into the class spreading their hands in demand for explanations. “Someone in this class said Mrs Sam facial marks makes her look like she fight lion” the man said while our principal placed his hand on his head in disappointment.

Principal:” Who said that? ”

Sarah: ” Sandra did “. The principal was shocked hearing that Sandra had made the statement. I was happy within me as I wanted to see how Sandra would be disciplined. ” Who is Sandra? ” the woman who had been insulted shouted in anger, Miss Linda, Mrs Jagun, Master Theophilus and our class teacher were now in our class.

Principal:” Sandra come out here ” the principal shouted in anger, obviously he was not happy with what he was about doing. Sandra on her side was also shocked as she had not expected the principal to shout at her.
She walked out with confidence but was surprised when she received a fine slap from the woman.

Sandra:” Sir she just slapped me ” Sandra said turning to the principal while the inspectors turned to him in shock.

Mrs Sam: ” is she your daughter? ”

Principal:” No she isn’t ma ”

Mrs Sam:” Then why is she reporting to you that I slapped her? What would he do if I slap slap you ” she said landing another slap on Sandra’s smooth face.

Principal: ” Ma, the reason is that I dont allow teachers slap students here, I prefer the cane ” the principal lied, while Mrs Sam nodded.

Mrs Sam : ” I want this girl disciplined now, give her twenty stroke of the cane,let her lie flat on a desk while you do that, thereafter punish her or your school won’t be approved for any exam ” she said as Sandra cried her eyes out.

Mrs Sam: ” I want it done now by you ” she added pointing to Mrs Jagun, she was the only teacher with a cane, Mrs Jagun opened her mouth in shock. Charles and Akpan were asked to bring out a desk, while Sandra was ordered to lie on it by the principal. Mrs Jagun held the cane with a scared face, “its pay day” I whispered to myself. She had no option, she had to flog Sandra, and she has too hit her hard else our school won’t be approved.

Mrs Sam: ” What are you waiting for, Start ” she shouted at Mrs Jagun who stood staring at Sandra. “Pa” she hit the first stroke which made Sandra roll from the desk to the floor crying. Charles and Akpan were called again to help in holding Sandra to the bench. I watched as Mrs Jagun landed hot strokes on Sandra butt0ckz, Sandra wailed and cried but no one to rescue her, she received twenty strokes of the cane and was left on the desk to cry. It was fun watching Mrs Jagun flog Sandra out of her own will, I saw Miss Linda smiling as Sandra was flogged, the principal formed an angry face while Joy was full of Joy. The inspectors went out with the principal and the teachers while Sandra remained on the desk crying out loud, the class also seemed to be happy as they watched Sandra cry. I was moved to pity for her as I stood up gently and went to the front where Sandra was. I drew her up and led her back to our sit, her hands were across my neck and she was leaping while walking. Seeing my actions, the whole people who were making fun of her before stopped and their faces changed to that of pity.

Some started telling her sorry as I walked pass them to my sit with Sandra. I helped her seat down, as the pain was all over her, she bent her head on the desk and cried more.

Our school was Finally approved for both waec and Neco, and the inspectors finally left after spending about three hours in the school. ” Senior Sandra, the principal asked me to call you ” a junior student came to inform her about twenty minutes after the Inspectors left.

Sandra: ” Who do you say is calling me? ” Sandra asked the girl again.

Junior girl: ” The principal ” the girl replied while Sandra bursted out in laughter.

Me:”He obviously what to beg you not to tell your parents” I said to her knowing not when the words came out of my mouth, she looked at me and her laugh quickly changed to a frown.

Sandra:” Watch your mouth ” she said and stood up to go while the whole class started murmuring, they knew the principal was going to beg her. She walked majestically to the principal office while I watched from the window, she finally entered and closed the door behind her, I turned back to seat properly only to see Joy sitting beside me.

Joy:” The good samaritan ” She wasn’t smiling.
