The vans stopped after it had been parked well in the school compound, the occupants of the first van alighted from the back sits, there were three men and two women, the two women were putting on glasses,one of the men was putting on a glass exactly like mine. Three men alighted from the second van which was much smaller than the first, they were 8 in numbers excluding the drivers of the Vans. The principal walked hurriedly toward them, the secretary also followed behind him, the principal greeted everyone of them by shaking hands with them smiling while the inspectors kept straight faces, the secretary also greeted them but not by shaking hands like the principal, verbally.
The English teacher had already loose focused on what she was teaching, even the students seem not to be following as all our attentions were being placed on the inspectors. The timekeeper soon gingled the bell for the change of period and the English teacher walked out of the class Majestically, Mrs Jones also went out, she was having a class. On our part, we were free, it was Friday and our class usually have only the English class, the rest of the periods was just for us to play.


Class rep:”Please let’s brings out our books and read, so as to look serious when them come to our class.”

Mary:”Common, my friend, shut up there” she said in her tiny voice.


Bernard:”God knows we are never serious, so I Dont think we should be now”

Joy:”Benard, its you that will never be serious”

Sarah:”Class rep, you yourself are you reading?”

Charles:”Boys Madrid won Barca yesterday o, upon say Ronaldo no play” he said and that was how the main noise started, we all forgot the inspectors were around as we, the guys, started discussing about football and the girls about zee world.


Miss Linda:”what’s going on here?” We heard Mrs Linda ask, we did not know when she came into the class.

Miss Linda:” Do you know the inspectors are around?” She asked again getting more angry.

Charles:” We are sorry ma” Charles spoke out.

Miss Linda:”Sorry for yourselves.” She said moving her eyes from the left to right.

Me:” We won’t do it again ma ” I added


Miss Linda: ” I won’t deal with you guys now till the inspectors leave ” she said and walked out of the class. We dare not make noise again after she left, we knew other teacher would have disciplined us. I brought out a note for my bag and started reading.


Sandra:”You escorted Joy to her house yesterday” she finally said after long silence, we had refused to talk to each other after the morning greeting.


Me:”Yes” I replied absentmindedly.


Sandra:” Do you know that yes you just said can get you into trouble? ” she asked shocking me.

Me:” How? ” she nodded her head and dipped her hand into her b----t pocket and brought out an audio recorder, my eyes widened in fear.

Sandra:” This is enough evidence to prove that you are dating Joy, and that can lead to your suspension. What I just need to do is to take this to the principal ” she said as she played the record of what we said earlier, from the moment I greeted her till now, I was the only one who heard it as she reduced the volume to the lowest.



Sandra:”But guess what, I won’t show it to anyone, I would rather delete it off” she said as she clicked on the format button and the all what she recorded was lost. I breathed in relief and also appreciation, I was also very surprised at the show of kindness she just displayed.

Sandra:” Am only doing this to give you a last chance, you can’t comprehend what I can do” she said.


Me:”Thanks Sandra I appreciate” I replied her like a weakling.

Me: What sort of last chance are you talking about? ”

Sandra:” The last chance for you to leave Joy and follow me ” she said.

Me:” What do you mean leave Joy, we are not dating, and I can’t also date you ” I said, no one knows if the audio recorder was still recording my voice, so I just decided to play smart.


Sandra:” Dont deny it bro am not recording you yet ” she said laughing while I look at her in fear.

We all stood up in union as the inspectors entered our class with the principal, as usual we greeted them.


Principal:” This is the sss 1 science class ” the principal said to one of the men, the one with an eyeglass.

” Oh OK, cute students, please sit down”the man with eyeglass said smiling.


“Fine sir” we said in union. The inspectors in our class were only seven, I remembered eight inspectors came, maybe he was checking other things, I thought.

” Wow they all look neat and well arranged, I love this class give them a tick for that ” a woman spoke, she had tribal marks on her face. Another man among them brought out a book and ticked something.

“OK bye students ” the man with the eyeglass said and they walked out to the next class.


Sandra:” Wow, look at that woman tribal marks, like she fight Lionnn” she said loud enough for the while class to hear, we all bursted into laughter at the manner she said it. suddenly the last inspector who wasn’t among them entered into the class.

” who said that? ” he shouted while we all shook in fear.



Me:” And that’s enough evidence to get you suspended” I whispered silently to her as I adjusted my glasses.
