I turned to Joy whose eye was full of pity for me. I summoned enough courage and walked slowly to the principal’s office but not without adjusting my glasses.

The principal’s office was just by the secretary office which was located in the building closer to the main gate.



Principal:”Welcome Master Hugine, have your seat” he said pointing to a chair beside me,opposite him.


Me:” Thank sir”


Principal:”Tell me Gabriel, what do you know about love?” He shocked me with the unexpected question, he wants me to explain what loves means to him, I smell rat.


Me:”I Dont get you sir” I replied him adjusting my glasses.


Principal:” OK, young man tell me what love mean to you.”


Me:” sir to me Love is just a brotherly feeling….”


Principal:” Gabriel, you Dont get me, I mean what do you know about having a relationship with a girl?”


Me:”Sir… ”


Principal:” There is no time to waste here, do you know the cost of having a girlfriend at this stage? You are just a student, you have no money, nothing, and you want to keep a relationship with Joy, young man think well.”


Me:”Am confused sir” I said trying to say something.

Principal:”Now, look at Sandra, the only child of a multimillionaire, with her you Dont have to spend so much, y…”


Me:”Sir, in a nutshell, you simply want me to go with Sandra because she can take care of me?” I asked smiling.

Principal:” You are more intelligent than I thought.”

Me:” I can’t sir, I can’t believe…”

Principal:”Shut up my friend, the only reason am leaving you is because this is your first week in this school. Do you think you are right? The school rules clearly states that there should be no boy and girl relationship”


Me:” OK sir, I won’t break the school rules and I won’t also date Sandra”


Primcipal:” Now get out” the principal said while I stood up, adjusted my glass and made to leave.

Principal: “I hope you enjoy your stay in this school” he said as I went out.

I headed back to class in thought, I was thinking if I should change my school but I knew that was impossible as my dad had already paid my fees. I just need a solution to my problem but none was coming. I finally entered the class and sat beside the devil who was reading a novel.
Sandra:”Gabi, why do you hate me so much?” She asked immediately I sat down, I turned my gaze at her and thought for a while before speaking.



Me:”I Dont hate you Sandra, it just that I love joy and I want her” i said with a pitiful tone.



Sandra:”Same here, I love you too, and I want you, the same way you feel towards Joy is how I feel towards you also” She said without minding my pitiful face. My hatred for her came back immediately.



Me:”Dont you have pride? Why stoop so low as to force a guy to love you”



Sandra:”Because I love y…”


Me:”And I Dont love you, Dont you get?”

Sandra:”I get but what matters is that I love you, and in this School, I get what I want.” She said rudely.


Me:” That changes with me, I chose who to move with and who not to. And let me inform you, I Dont move with bitches” I said harshly, she rose her left hand to slap me but I held her fast enough.


Me:” Remember what happened in the morning, you gave me one and I gave you two. Am sure you Dont want more.” I said and then released her hand.

Sandra:” See Gabriel, no matter how you try, you can’t get Joy, if you do, maybe the dead version of joy” she threatened which I thought was an empty one but never knew the future would be tough.


Me:”Please stop disturbing me, go and look for a cheap guy like you, am too expensive for you” I said smiling while she just nodded and kept quiet. I bent my head down on my locker and relaxed, I needed to clear my mind.

The break time bell soon came but I did not lift my head up, I just wanted peace.


Joy:”Is my guy sleeping?” I heard joy ask Sandra, I smiled within me, this Joy is indeed a brave girl.


Sandra:” Which Foolish guy are you talking about?” Sandra asked in anger, I smiled to myself as I pretended not to hear their conversation. I felt a soft hand on my head, it was Joy’s trying to wake me up, I did not answer immediately as I wanted her to touch my head the more but that did not happen. ” poo” was the next thing I heard, I knew someone was slapped, I stood up immediately to see Joy holding her cheeks but smiling.
