Sandra: “Why the sudden change? just yesterday, you wish you could just kill me and get joy back to your sit.” She asked me after sometimes of talking.

Me:” I just thought I should give you a chance, we aren’t enemies and I Dont know why I should be mad at you, I was being childish.” I said smiling and she also smiled.


Sandra:”So we are cool now”


Me:”We are more than cool.” I said while she placed her hands around my neck. I wasn’t enjoying this playboy stuff, I couldn’t help but notice Joy who would at times stare at me with sorrowful eyes, shake her head before looking away. I was feeling the pain deep down, at a point I thought I should just break everything and stop the playboy game, but something urged me to continue. The bell finally came, I took my assembly note as usual and bounced out, I was even the first to leave the class, just wanted to be free from Sandra’ s display of love. I looked at her and wonder if this was how she force herself on guys, I wonder how many breakups she might have had. Wait, talking about breaking up with her, won’t she use her parent’s influence to deal with such guys? I pray she doesn’t, I Dont want her parent’s trouble. I took my position on the assembly ground, I prayed for it to be a long one but it was like God was not with me that day as the weather changed and it started to drizzle.


The principal quickly dismissed us and we went back to class after praying, we did not even match.


Class rep:” Good morning class,Mrs Jagun ask me to inform you that our class today will be holding in the lab, so let’s take our note and head to the lab, remember to take all your valuables if you have any in your bag, most especially, your money.” He said about ten minutes later after the assembly, Students could be seen packing their note in haste as they Dont want to go late to Mrs Jagun’s class. I also picked my book in a haste and made to go to the lab but Sandra drew me back.

Sandra:”Dont worry, am here with you. She won’t do anything” she said smiling while I looked at her with surprise, “so its up to that?” I thought. She stood up after everyone has gone and and holding my hands, we both walked out to the lab. We entered the lab with her still holding my hands and smiling, Mrs Jagun was seated on her chair while the students sat on the single chairs in the lab, she was looking at them with a frowning face. She turned her neck towards the door as she heard it open, she saw I and Sandra and a smile formed on her lips.



Mrs Jagun:” Hmmm, see this children o” she said laughing and some students in the class pretended to laugh, I also smiled. I sat down on a chair beside a guy,Charlie. I had berely settled down when Sandra drew a chair to me, she gave the boy a look and he shifted his chair immediately while Sandra occupied the space. I never knew it was this serious, so every one actually respects her? Even those ones that call themselves guys? Imagine respecting someone that paid the same school fee with you, it was crazy and annoying.

Mrs Jagun:” So I will be introducing you guys to biology today, it is as sweet as basic science but just advanced. Now what do you understand by biology?”


Me:” The study of life” I said from where I was.

Mrs Jagun:” correct, Sandra your husband is really smart” she said while the whole class pretended to laugh again.



Mrs Jagun: ” Yeah biology deals with the study of living thing, l.e we study only plant and animals. Joy get up, what are you thinking of?” She asked immediately she turned to where joy and some girls were sitting.



Joy:” Nothing ma” she said as she stood up in shock.



Mrs Jagun:” OK you weren’t thinking, what was my last statement?” She asked joy while joy bent her head.


Joy:” Am sorry ma I wasn’t following”

Mrs Jagun:” OK I won’t beat you today, am in a good mood, just take a walk outside and Dont come back” she said as joy walked out slowly, she was almost at the door when she turned to me, I notice the tears already flowing down her face. She looked at me like trying to say “Gabriel why?” She wiped her eyes and finally walked out heading to the music room. I knew I could not take it anymore, I never knew this was a being a playboy feels. I felt the tears already packed in my eyes but they did not fall, I can’t help but to feel pity for My Joy ” I will stop all this tomorrow.” I thought as I adjusted my glasses. More public show of love was displayed by Sandra that day, she held me to virtually everywhere, it was the closing bell that brought an end to it, I walked out of the class almost immediately as the bell rang, I did not bother waiting for my sister, I was rushing to home to thank Eunice for her foolish advise. I was still at the school gate when Joy tapped me from behind, I turned immediately I felt the tap.



Me:”Jo…” I wanted to say but I was stopped by a dirty slap which landed on my face, Joy slapped me, my face changed instantly to that of anger, but I controlled myself by adjusting my glasses.
