DESPERATE PLIGHT (Travails Of a hero ) - Season 2 - Episode 9

JANE’S OFFICE
:
Jane sat in an arm-chair behind her desk in her office. She allowed herself to be carried away by her thoughts without minding where she was. She remembered how she was forced by her parents at an early age to marry Richard just because of the business deal they had.

“I was such a big fool to have listened to my parents, gosh! Why was I so stupid?” She asked a bit aloud, rhetorically. “I should have ran away from home and allow him marry Thelma,” she thought.

“Jane! Are you alright,” Rose, her colleague asked as she closed the file she was working on. But it was quite obvious that Jane was far from hearing her, so she stood up and walked up to her desk. “Jane!” she called out again, tapping her lightly on the shoulder which made Jane startle and sigh in relief.

“What’s wrong with you? You’ve been acting strange ever since your husband left for the war?” Rose inquired, throwing her hands in the air in worry.

Jane immediately stood up, “Richard is beginning to play games on me again.”

Rose looked baffled, “Games? How? Why?” she asked.

“Ever since he left for the camp, he hasn’t called even for once and that Thelma of a girl is also one of those that’s fighting for the country and guess what, they are in the same camp,” Jane fumed in anger as she placed her akimbo, with her lips quivering in annoyance.

“Sounds interesting!” Rose exclaimed and folded her arms in a way that her left palm was placed on her cheek. “So what are you gonna do now and how did you find out?”
“I did some underground check and I got this information. I guess they must be having fun while I’ve been here crying for that fool that only started showing me an iota of love after Thelma had refused to marry him because everyone knew him as a womanizer,” Jane ranted in a loud voice.

“Please be calm,” Rose pleaded and unfolded her arms and placed a hand on her shoulder. “You don’t just rush into conclusion, besides that’s in the past now and he loves you wholeheartedly.”

Jane shrugged angrily thus making Rose hand fall from her shoulder, “Rose! My eyes are now open, my children opened my eyes during my three days off and by the timt he gets back, divorce papers will welcome him,” she said and picked up her file and pen and walked to the door.

“Remember you also fell inlove with him after some years,” Rose said after her thus making her stop with her right hand still on the door handle. “And remember your children, do you want them to be fatherless? Come on Jane, think please, I believe he loves you wholeheartedly and even if he’s still a womanizer, you have been with him for fifteen years,” Rose concluded.

Jane chuckled a bit and opened the door, “Love, I love him too but he has to pay for my pains and tears,” she said and with that walked out and slammed the door behind her.

“Richard!” Rose sighed and walked back to her seat…

WAR CAMP
(RICHARD’S ROOM)
:
Richard sat on the bed thinking about his family when suddenly the door opened and Thelma walked in.

“Wow, Thelma what a surprise,” Richard exclaimed and stood up.

“So you lied thinking you could lure me to bed,” Thelma said with folded arms and an angry expression.

“How?” Richard asked in pretence.

“So all those years you kept asking me to marry you, you were already married with two children,” Thelma said.

Richard swallowed hard, “I’m sorry Thelma but I never loved her,” he pleaaded.

“But you love her now right?” Thelma asked.

“Y…es!” Richard stammered.

“Good!” Thelma exclaimed. “Although you lied to me all those years and even had to lie after we met again, I don’t care coz am engaged but I want to know why you still stoop so low as to sleep with another girl in the camp when you have a beautiful wife waiting for you at home?” she asked.

Richard was shocked to the bones, “Who told you all this and how did you find out that I was married while still asking you to marry me?”

Thelma smiled, “I did findings but unfortunately, the lady you screwed here last night is a traitor and ave always wanted her dead cos my father forced me to join the army just because of her. Do you still love Jane and do you want her to find out about the girl you had s-x with?” she asked.

“No! I love my wife and I don’t want to loose her,” Richard said in fear.

“Good, then you have to kill that girl during the war or you will loose your wife and everything you’ve worked for,” Thelma threatened seriously…
