RAYMOND’S HOUSE
(SITTING ROOM)
:

Mike stared at Raymond and suddenly bursted into laughter.

“What did I say that’s so funny?”

Raymond asked and dropped his glass of drink.

“Everything Raymond, everything,” Mike said and laughed some more.

Raymond hissed loudly, “You can laugh all you want but what I know is I will surely make life a living hell for Thelma if she ever tries to cheat on me,” Raymond fired angrily.

Mike coughed a bit and stopped laughing, “Guy theres nothing you can do coz I have had so many bad experiences with women, they are just too vulnerable,” Mike said, then smiled in a way that showed only his upper teeth

“I love Thelma and I’ve passed through a lot because of her and no woman in her right sense of mind will cheat on a man she’s engaged to be married to,” Raymond said calmly as he became sober.

“I know you love her but lets just pray she’ll remain faithful to you,” Mike said soothingly as he sat with his glass of drink and stared at his friend in pity…

MR & MRS SMITH’S HOUSE
:

Ella and Emmy opened the gate to their grandparents house and ran in excitedly to meet their grandparent who sat on the settee outside on the varenda. They usually sat there every evening because of the cool breeze.

“Grandma, Grandpa,” Ella and Emmy screamed in excitement as they climbed up the varenda and hugged them tight.

“Oh my angels, how are you?” Grandfather asked.

“How is school and how is your mother,” Grandmother asked without waiting for them to answer the first question

“Fine grandma,” they both replied in unison

“But mum isn’t feeling too well,” Emmy added.

“Oh, don’t worry, she will be fine,”
Grandpa said and rubbed their back lovingly.

The wife eyed him through the corner of her eye anr then turned to the children, “Come lets go inside, grandma’s food always taste better,” She smiled while the children smiled too, hugged their grandfather and followed her inside…

WAR CAMP
(RICHARD’S ROOM)
Time checked- 7:00pm
:

Richard lay on the bed in his room. He wore just a boxer with no singlet. He was just back from the dining hall where he had met Thelma who had told him she’d be coming to his room after dinner.

A pang of guilt swept through him as he thought about his wife and children but then there was a knock on the door and the thoughts quickly vanished from his mind as he got out of bed and within a speed of light opened the door to reveal Thelma who stood smiling at him. She wore a blue three- quarter shorts and pink top.

“Goodevening,” Thelma greeted.

“Wow! You look breath taking,” Richard smiled and licked his lips as he opened the door wide for her to enter.

“Please spare me your sweet mouth,” she giggled as she walked in and sat on the bed because the room had no chair. “Nice room you’ve got,” She said, looking around.

“Yes!” Richard smiled too as he walked and sat on the bed. “I love this camp coz unlike other’s, they provide us with good food and shelter. What do I offer you please, atleast I have some red wine.”

“Nothing please, I ate to my satisfaction at the dining, so am filled up,”
Thelma declined politely.

Richard shrugged in resignation, “It’s alright. You know it feels great to see you again after five years,” He said happily.

“Same here Richy and you still look so young and fresh, just wondering why you ain’t married.”

“Come on Thelma, maybe I couldn’t find the right person because my heart still belong to you,”
he smiled seductively and shifted closer to her.

“Really!” Thelma exclaimed. “But it’s unfortunate that I’m already engaged.”

Richard shifted more closer to her, then raised his hand and began to carress her cheek romantically. “Come off it Thelma, you know I’ve always loved you and should be happy we finally met again, besides we’re alone so why not make good use of the time we have coz we might not even survive the war ahead,” he concluded and before one could say Jack Robinson, he held Thelma tight and tried kissing her but Thelma immediately pushed him away and slapped him hard on the cheek.

“I’ve always known you to be a womanizer right from secondary school but I can’t believe you haven’t changed,” Thelma said in annoyance and stood up.

Richard was shocked to the bones as he rubbed where he had been slapped.

He had always knew Thelma to be quiet and calm but he never knew she had such boldness. “But Thelma, it’s just a friendly gesture,” he said painfully.

“Friendly gesture indeed. Do I look like a pliable to you, let today be the last time you ever try to kiss me if not I will design that face of yours. I’m here to fight for my country and not for romantic gestures, so get that in your head, I even thought you had something better to say when you had invited me over,” She hissed loudly and left the room in anger.

Richard smiled ruefully as he stared at the open door, “Thelma, you can’t go free in this,” he chuckled and stood up to lock his door..
