DESPERATE PLIGHT (Travails Of a hero ) - Season 2 - Episode 5

COMMAND CENTRE
(OPERATIONS CONTROL CENTRE{OCC})
INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION
:
Tega and his uncle, Mr Wan, were seen
walking around the control room while Mr Wan
was busy explaining and showing things to
him.

The CONTROL ROOM looked small from
outside view but very large inside. Inside, one
could see mainframe computers being placed
all over the tables while some where placed on
the upper wall. Security cameras were seen at
strategic points in the large room. Different
guns were also seen on tables ranging from
Shot guns, hand guns, tommy, machine guns
etc.

Tega was marvelled at what he saw, he picked
up a gun, one he had never seen before. “Sir,”
he called out to his uncle who held a shell.
“What’s this called?” he asked.

The uncle smiled, “Its a stun gun and it makes
someone unconscious for a short time,” he
replied and picked up another weapon. “This
is called stanley knife and its very good
because the blades can be changed,” he
explained while Tega smiled and nodded in
satisfaction.

Bullet vests hung at a corner still in the same
room which Tega later found out that though
they had a room for cloths, the bullet proof
vests was for emergency. Mr Wan also wore
an electronic wristwatch which was connected
to everything in the control room and also held
a walkie talkie. Fire extinguishers could also
be seen in each corner of the room.

“Sir,” Tega called out again.

“Yes!” the uncle answered and turned to face
him.

“How will I use this place, you know am not
used to it besides the president might not
approve of my stay here?” he asked in fear.

The Uncle parted his shoulder, “Worry not Son,
I am incharge here and the president, he’s not
a problem,” he said in his American accent.

“Okay sir, thank you,” Tega said happily while
the uncle nodded, then they moved to another
room for further explanations…

MR DAVIDSON’S RESIDENCE
SITTING ROOM
:
Mr Davidson sat on the the couch in his sitting
room reading his newspaper as usual, then
Thelma walked in from the dining room where
she had placed lunch on the table.

“Dad!” Thelma called as she sat beside the
father on the couch.

“Hmm!” the father replied without looking up
from his newspaper as his eyes puckered in
concentration behind his reading glasses.

“Lunch is ready,” Thelma smiled.

“I’m not hungry,” the father replied.

Thelma was surprised, “Dad! You didn’t have
breakfast and now lunch,” she said and stood
up, feeling irritated.

The father also stood up and stared at her for
a while, then quietly turned and walked
upstairs.

“Dad!” Thelma called and ran after him but
unfortunately, as she got close to the father’s
room, he quickly entered inside and slammed
the door on her face. “Dad!” she called again
and b@nged the door hard but got no reply.

After minutes of standing, she quietly turned
and left for her own room, feeling sad and
wondering why her father was behaving hostile
towards her and also her mum…

RICHARD’S RESIDENCE
SITTING ROOM
:
Richard sat on the couch in the sitting room
which had automatically turned into his
thinking room. His children were not yet back
from school and though there was power and
the fan and air conditioner were on, the room
still felt hot to him. His wife was in the kitchen
preparing Lunch. Suddenly there was a loud
knock on the door which made him wonder
who could be knocking so hard that bright
tuesday afternoon.

So he stood up and without thinking twice,
opened the door, then drew back in fear as
three masked men pushed him back into the
house and walked in with heavy steps.

“Who are you?” Richard asked boldly but was
ignored as one of the men brought out a gun
and hushed him to be quite.

Jane who had heard voices from the kitchen
rushed into the room and almost slumped in
fear at what she saw.

One of the smiled and walked up to her, then
pulled out a gun and handed it to her which
she collected with trembling hands.

“Shoot him,” the man ordered. “We have
limited time.

“Who?” Jane asked with quivering lips.

“Your husband! You have two minutes,” the
man said and sat on the hand of the couch.
“Why should she shoot me?” Richard asked.
“Just shut up!” the man fired in annoyance…
