DESPERATE PLIGHT (Travails Of a hero ) - Season 1 - Episode 17

RICHARD’S RESIDENCE
SITTING ROOM
:
For a moment, Jane stood and just stared at him. She couldn’t fathom what he meant by ‘TO COOPERATE.’

“What are you talking about, do you know my children’s whereabout?” She asked.

“Well I wouldn’t say I know but I guess I have a clue and am ever ready to take you to them right away,” Mike said and walked back to stand infront of her.

“Fine then, take me to them immediately, they are all that I have, all that I live for,” Jane said in a pleading tone as her eyes became watery.

Mike grinned widely and held her by the shoulder, then led her to sit on the couch. “You know what, you’re so emotional. Give me your heart and let me take good care of it,” he added as he licked his lips seductively and ran his hands over her hair net.
Jane really felt uncomfortable, “Mike stop this nonsense and get out now or you tell me where my children are,” She barked furiously and stood up.

Mike stood up too, ”Come on besides you never even told me your name,” he said and advanced towards her while Jane kept moving back.

“Mike, this is my matrimonial home and you have no right to display your madness here if not am gonna throw you deep into the abyss,” Jane fired angrily. It was quite obvious that she was really scared but her anger shield her fears
“I only need you for a night,” Mike pestered on and kept advancing towards her while she kept moving back till she fell on the couch with a loud thud.

“Mike get out now,” she shouted in a voice that was engulfed in fear and barely audible.

When she fell on the couch, Mike also let himself fall on top of her, “Just give me the chance to make you happy and fulfilled.”

“I love my husband Mike, I love him so much.”

“It doesn’t matter,” he said and tried kissing her but Jane slapped him hard on the cheek and pushed him so hard that he reeled backwards and fell thus hitting his head on the tiled floor. Just then the door opened and Richard’s parent walked in.

“What’s going on here?” Mr smith asked as his eyes hovered around the house. “Who are you young man and what are you doing in my son’s house by this time of the night?”

Mrs smith moved and sat beside Jane who had begun to cry, “Where are my grand children? They were supposed to call me once tjey get home.”

On hearing that, Jane’s cries increase and Mrs Smith immediately sensed something was wrong. “I think he has a hand in it,” Jane pointed accusing fingers at Mike who stood looking lost on what to do. “The children ain’t home yet, I was about going to look for…”

Before Jane could complete her statement, Mike rushed to the door and before one could say another word, he was out of the house.
Mr Smith wanted running after him but his strength failed him. “So where are the children?” he asked breathing heavily like one who just completed a race.

Jane swallowed hard, “I think they’ve been abducted.”

“What!” Mrs smith screamed and fainted…

INSIDE THE FOREST
:
The fight had suddenly gone out of control. Out of the seven soldiers Richard was with, three were already dead and he(Richard) was wounded in the right leg. Thelma too was wounded in the arm but surprisingly none of Tega’s men were wounded nor dead.
Richard was becoming very weak and vulnerable. He wished the authorities would receive the red signal from the tracking device. It looked like they were going to loose coz he had no strength left.

Jane’s beautiful face kept flashing his mind and he was soon lost in thought, totally forgetting where he was. Just then he heard a voice shout ‘Please don’t hurt him’ which brought him out of his reverie and he turned his back only to see Lucy run towards him.

Everyone except Tega and his men stopped to look at her in surprise even as she hugged Richard…

Mike was seen running speedily towards the main road. He felt very foolish as he had choosen to park his car beside the road and choose to trek to Ella’s father’s house.
Soon he got to where he’d packed his car. He quickly unlocked the car and entered. He ignited the engine but unfortunately the car refused to respond. “S--t! Why now?” he said in anger, opened the car door and got again to check what could be wrong.

On getting out, he checked the car and was surprised to find out that his tyres had been deflated.

“Who on earth did this to me?” he asked rhetorically and placed his hands on his head in despair. Then three stoutly body built men came out of the nearby bush and surrounded him, all carrying big sticks and smoking too.

Mike almost died of fear as he stood and watched how his d--k which had erected at Jane’s house began to go flat. “Who are you?” he asked but the men just ignored him while one of them puffed the smoke of the cigarette on his face…
