DESPERATE PLIGHT (Travails Of a hero ) - Season 1 - Episode 14

BATTLE FIELD
:
Richard was lost as the battle got fiercer. Soon soldiers from both sides who had lay ambush began to shoot. He saw his country men running away from the battle field and the opponents taking over and beginning to chant victory songs while the shoot out continued.
Then he quickly rushed to Lucy and carried her up. Running out of the battle field, he ran into a nearby forest and kept her hidden. Then he pulled out the daggers from her chest and ran back to the battle field.

The shooting soldiers realised a little too late that the bullets from their guns wasn’t working as all the fighters had bullet proof vests on.

The battle had taken another phase by the time Richard ran back into the field. All guns had been dropped coz it now had no use. It was now fights between the daggers, wolfs and tigers and a battle of life and death, survival of the fittest.

Richard was shocked beyond reasonable doubts but he was determined to stay strong and fight. So he quickly ran into the middle of the field but unfortunately, the pressure and force from the opponents was too much which made him join those that had run out of the field to save themselves.

Thelma who had also run of and sorted refuge under the leaves in the nearby bush, scanned her eyes around but Richard was nowhere to be found…

Soon, the battle ended as the opponents began chanting victory songs again. It was quite obvious and no one needed a soothsayer to tell them that Richard’s side had lost…

By the time the unrest died down, it was already dark. The battle was suppose to have been fought for two to three days but the opponents had taken matters into their own hand thus bringing everything to an abrupt end as everywhere was littered with dead bodies and parts…

INSIDE THE FOREST
:
Richard kept running around with his bleeding arm as he tried saving Lucy’s life.

“This is unbelievable,” he muttered to himself as he searched for any leave that could possible save Lucy. “We have never lost any battle but why today,” he thought further as he searched. He wandered deeply into the forest and found his colleagues who hid in different places in fear. Then he whistled loudly and they all came out of their hiding place and he informed them of Lucy’s predicament…

The remaining soldiers followed him to where he had left Lucy but was surprised that Lucy’s body was nowhere to be found.

“I left her here insearch of herbs that could possibly heal her wounds before being taken to the hospital,” Richard said, looking very confused.

“Then where’s she?” one of them asked and soon they began to murmur amongst themselves.

“Please let’s search for her,” Richard suggested and they nodded, then began to go in different directions…
:
HIDDEN PART OF THE FOREST
:
Thelma was seen being tied up to a tree with strong ropes. She looked weak as the blood dripped from her mouth. “Theres something fishy going on in this country, how can wolfs and tigers be used to fight war and then am being captured after the battle?” She thought quietly as she scanned her weak eyes around the bloody looking men who held her captive.

Just then, a familiar figure walked up to her and stood right infront of her. “Hello, strong woman of africa,” the person said to her in a mocking tone.

Thelma peered closely at the face and gasp in fear, “Tega!”

Tega laughed a bit, “Surprised?”
Thelma coughed and spat out blood as memories came flashing back into her memories…

FLASHBACK
NEW YORK CITY
(THELMA’S ROOM)
:
Thelma could be seen exchanging words with someone. “Tega please, I can’t do what you’re asking me to do, I need to go back and join the army just to avenge for my father.”

“I don’t want you to join any army, Lucy’s father did something remarkable for my father in his youthful days, so if you listen to your father and join the army just to make sure Lucy is dead, I will go any possible length and make sure your country looses in the war and you will not be left out,” Tega threatened.

“Do your worst Tega, my country have always worn in any battle and this one won’t be an exception. Lucy joined the army so she could get back up and I will do as my father says just to make sure she goes down,” Thelma shouted…

THE PRESENT
:
Tega gave a chuckle of delight, “I guess you remember me now, I warned you.”

“Please let me go,” Thelma pleaded weakly.

“I planned everything and took sides with your opponents because I knew you would go any length to end Lucy’s life but funny enough, I kept everything away from Lucy coz you women can’t be trusted. I saw the way you brutally handled her in the field and that pushed me to carry out my plans which was to send the tigers and wolfs through your opponents leader to the field just to make sure you and your country loose this battle and that worked perfectly well,” Tega explained. “Now it’s time for you to die Thelma for defying my orders.”
