DESPERATE PLIGHT (Travails Of a hero ) - Season 1 - Episode 13

RICHARD’S RESIDENCE
(SITTING ROOM)

Mike and Jane stood by the door, staring at each other and that almost made Jane forget that her door was still open. “What are you doing here?” She asked.

“Won’t you atleast allow me inside, then offer me a seat,” Mike said, smiling.
Jane sighed, opened the door wide and step aside for him to enter while Mike walked in majestically and sat on the couch where Jane had kept her bag. He kept praying and wishing his plans worked out successfully.

Jane closed the door and moved inside but instead sat on the couch opposite him. “So, Mr Mike, what do I offer you, atleast you’re not a total stranger in my house,” She smilied too but Mike ignored her question as he stood up and walked to where she sat and squatted infront of her.
“What’s this Mike, are you alright?” Jane asked and stood immediately.

Mike also stood, “Stop pretending as if you don’t miss a man’s touch. I’m here to make you feel relaxed,” he said in a whispering voice and advanced close to her but unfortunately for him, Jane quickly pushed him away forcefully, which made him stagger and fall backwards with a loud thud, narrowly escaping bumping his head on the centre table.
Jane swayed from side to side and within a twinkle of an eye, she was ontop of him, pouncing and throwing fist into his guts in fury. “How dare you, coward!” she barked furiously.

“Please, let me go, it was the devil,” Mike pleaded but all in vain as Jane kept hitting him hard. Then she stood up and ran to the kitchen. Mike who knew better quickly stood up and ran out of the house in fear.

Jane emerged from the kitchen with a pestle but Mike was gone, “Idiot, fool, why didn’t you wait for me? Shameless man,” Jane cursed as she panted heavily and walked to her door to lock it…

RAYMOND’S RESIDENCE
TIME CHECKED- 1:45pm
:
Raymond alighted his car and was surprised to find Mike sitted on one of the steps that led to his front door. “Mike!” he called and ran up to him. “Jesus! Who did this to you and why?” he asked as he squatted beside Mike to examine his puffed and swollen face.

“The married woman I told you about o,” Mike said in pains.

“The married woman?” Raymond stood up.

“Yes! I tried taking advantage of her.”
Raymond eyed him angrily, “You know what? I have absolutely nothing to say to you, idiot,” he fumed. Then pushed him aside and headed to the door, opened it and after he had entered, slammed it very hard and bolted it from inside thus leaving Mike to his fate…

THE NEXT DAY.
BATTLE FIELD…
:
Proper preparations had been made and everything put in place as the long awaited war between the two countries was about to begin. Both parties wore thick soldier uniforms and with bullet proof but while Richard’s group wore black, the opponents wore dark green.
Thelma who was at the far end corner, raced to where Richard stood, throwing daggers in the air and catching them in practice. “Hey Richy, remember the deal,” she whispered and ran back to the war front.
Soon the battle begun and the soldiers were seen drawing their swords and spears. Richard quickly ran into the middle of the field as he pulled out a dagger from his back pocket and threw it towards an opponent which drove straight into his chest, making him fall face up. Richard ran to him and pulled out the dagger from his chest with force thus making blood sputter out in torrents but he didn’t mind.

“Watch your back Richy!” Lucy shouted in defense but as Richard turned, a dagger flew straight into his left shoulder and he fell.

Thelma who was constantly looking his direction quickly ran towards him but was stopped by an opponent which she gave a sidewards kick and then stabbed him in the stomach.

Richard stood up without minding his wounded arm. He drew out the dagger from his hand with force, then did a backwards kick in the air and within a twinkle of an eye, drove two daggers into the chest of an opponent.

Lucy sighted Thelma and ran towards her. It was quite obvious that her mind wasn’t in the war but on how to trap and kill Thelma without suspense.

Soon there was an uproar. The opponents leader walked into the field with fierce looking tiger and wolfs which were trained to kill.

Richard was shocked, “This wasn’t the plan,” he shouted out loud but no one heard him as everyone were in self defense mood.

Then he turned round but to his greatest dismay, saw Lucy lying in a pool of blood with three daggers pierced deep into her chest and Thelma running away from her into the middle field again.

For a moment, he stood looking confused as to whether to save Lucy or defend his country…
