“Sir, can I talk to you for a while?”

She spoke up one night after dinner. He turned and faced her.

“Is there a problem?”

“None Sir, I have something to discuss with you.”
He sighed.

“Diline please, we are in the 21st century stop calling me sir, I detest that. It’s Drez or nothing else.”

She nodded and looked down at her toes.

“I want to leave si er Drez. I am healthy now, I can’t just continue to stay here doing nothing all day, you have done enough for me and I am really grateful but I must leave now.”

“Look at me Diline please, I don’t bite.”
She raised her eyes.

“I never complained once that you are making me uncomfortable, you are not lazy either. You take care of the whole house and even cook for me, moreover you make the house feel inhabited or is there something else?”
She answered negative.

“No sir, it is quite the opposite, you make everything comfortable for me. It’s just that I feel I have stayed long enough especially without giving you anything in return for everything you have done for me.”

“Shhhh! It’s okay you can stay here until you get a job and you have enough to take care of yourself.”
She quickly knelt down.

“Thank you very much sir, God bless you.”

“Aish please you are embarrassing me with the sirs and the kneeling. It’s okay. Is that all?”
She smiled.

“Yes, that is all.”
