She narrowed her eyes, the corner of her lips turning into a wry smile.

“Calm down sugar.What are you talking about?” “Don’t you dare!Play dumb with me devil! You know what i’m talking about” I yelled.

I gritted my teeth, wanting to punch her so badly. I was fuming with an unquenchable rage.

“Breathe.. Breathe in Alexander, because oxygen is essential for living and you need to live for Tola” I said inwardly.

As I was about to hit Mitch in the face, my phone rang again. I clenched my fists and walked to the seat I had dropped it to know who was calling me. I was surprised to see the caller I.D display ‘My Queen’

I shot Mitch a deadly stare as I saw her with the corner of my eyes coming closer to me. As if sensing I’d probably combust in flames if she came any closer, she stepped back and smiled devilishly before masking her face with seriousness.

“Tola, wherever you are, just keep yourself safe for me okay? I am coming to get you. Please be strong.”

“Alex?” Tola called out.

“What are you talking about? I should keep myself safe? I don’t get you. I only called to tell you I was at the airport, my roommate back in school called me to get a taxi to come pick her up. I just got her a hotel and am almost home” she explained.

“Err..err.. Really? But why didn’t you call me before leaving. I was worried sick about you.” “Am sorry, I tried calling you and mommy but you guys’ numbers weren’t going through, I wonder why” she replied. “I’ll see you at work tomorrow. Goodnight” Tola ended the call.

I huffed and breathed in evenly. I quickly dialled her mom’s number and explained everything to her. She understood and said she would call me back when her daughter got home. “You still haven’t told me what is happening? Why would you just barge in on me ranting like a lion?” Mitch said, retrieving a pack of cigarettes from the stool beside her and lighting it.

“Look, am sorry okay? There was a mix up somewhere. I guess I’ll take my leave now”
