“It all began when I arrived Nigeria after my graduation at Harvard. My parents wanted me to stay back so I could run their empire but I was determined to start my own life. When I got back, my dad called a friend of his to host a party for me. The party was the night I flew in from US.

I was welcomed by strange faces but they later introduced themselves to me as the relatives of my dad’s friend.-Chief Lawson. At that party, I met a particular lady that captured my eyes so I walked up to her and tried chatting her up. But she shunned me and pretended like I was not there” I(Alex) relaxed and looked at Tola to see if she was getting it.

She wanted an explanation to it all. Why I kept drawing back from her and the lady that threatened her with messages. Seeing that she was paying rapt attention, I continued. ” I tried all I could to make sure she talked to me but she snubbed me like I didn’t exist.

She did not even deem it fit to congratulate on the successful completion of my degree. She kept snubbing me. I noticed another lady kept throwing herself at me but because I was more interested in the first lady I had seen, I kept trying to talk to her but she would snub me and move away from me, like I was a plague or something.

“Hey handsome. Congrats” the lady said, grinning widely. The loud music blaring from the loudspeakers couldn’t allow me listen well but I still heard the ‘congrats from her’. I smiled and tried moving away from her to pursue the lady that captured my attention but she kept throwing herself at me. In order not to be mean or anything, I ended up giving her the attention she so wanted.

“You care for a drink?” She asked me, still smiling. She wasn’t exactly beautiful, she was just there.

Tall, dark though curvy but she wasn’t what or who I wanted but I kept on with the conversation.

“Sure, why not” I replied her with a fake smile.

We went to the bar side and had a bottle of vodka. While drinking, she kept staring at me awkwardly. She noticed my eyes were constantly on the other girl.

“C’mon handsome, give me some attention too” She said, lifting her supple round breasts up and winking at me temptingly. “What’s the name?” I asked.

“Oh, you mean my name?” She smiled seductively.

“No, hers” I replied, pointing at the other lady.

I could see her simmer with anger but she tried concealing it “And how did you even know I know her?” She asked me, taken aback. “I have been watching her since she walked into this place. I saw you two talk for a while before she left for the dancefloor” “Well, she’s Kate. My best friend.” She moved closer to me and made me touch her butt0ckz, she was bringing her lips close to mine but I moved away. I saw her well this time around.
She had her face caked with makeup to cover up her cleft chin and the odd angle in her jawline.

“Sorry mister. You look tempting” she said, still giving her seductive smile.
