After he exchanged pleasantries with my mom, the latter invited him over to the dinning room.

“Wow. I am going to have my lunch here? Thats nice” Delightment flared in his eyes, illuminating them brightly.

“Before nko” my mom said and smiled.
She signalled to me to come serve him.

In my mind I was like ‘so you can’t even say you don’t want to eat first? Didn’t your mom teach you manners?’ Seriously, he didn’t even refuse the offer, it was like he was expecting it anyway. Growing up, I was trained to refuse food and drinks at first, at least, there would be a slight hesitation before finally giving in.

That was the proper etiquette but Alex evidently didn’t care.

“Adetola, what are you waiting for? Your mom said you should serve me”I pulled the duvet over and placed her head on my chest. “Kate, Please let me move on. I don’t want to see your face again anytime I want to make out with her. Please, am begging you” I said, almost in a whisper and strongly believing she heard me. “Are you satisfied with the tea?” I asked, after minutes of silence.

I lowered my eyes to see her lips slightly apart as soft light snores left them in rhymes.

She snuggled closer to me and placed her right hand on my bare chest. “Goodnight my princess. I love you” I muttered and planted a kiss on her forehead.

Dimming the bedside lamp, I slowly joined the sleeping beauty beside me in the dreamland.
“Morning” whispered a voice in my ear.
Opening my eyes, I looked beside me to see a smiling Tola. She touched my neck and forehead with the back of her palm and smiled. “You are feeling better” she said and got out of the bed. “Yes. I am” I replied, sprawling on the bed lazily. She came around to hit my arm playfully and that was when I saw her fresh laps.
The T-shirt I gave her did nothing to cover them.
I quickly averted my gaze away. “C’mon, its 6a.m, let’s start getting ready” .

“Wait. How did you manage to get up this early without an alarm? I mean, we slept very late” I blurted out, amazed at how she would wake up that early when we both slept late. “Well, let’s say I was pressed so I woke up, emptied my bowels and woke you up. Sleepy head”

I rolled my eyes as my stomach started to churn.

Throwing me a sharp stare over her shoulders, she walked to the closet. I stood up, stretched and joined her.

Heading over to the marble sink, I washed my face and looked for a spare toothbrush. Finding it, I strode over to her and offered her the toothbrush in my hand. We both stood there in an awkward silence, brushing our teeth. The only noise was the scrubbing of us brushing. My eyes caught hers in the mirror. She smirked and looked down. Not being able to hold myself back anymore, I started laughing uncontrollably, almost choking on the toothpaste.

He chortled, the sound light and ebullient.

I shot him a ‘whatever’ look and proceeded with the serving. My mom returned back to the dinning room with the wine and three wine glasses.

I dished him a plate of Poundo yam and vegetables with fish, I dished for my mom too before dishing for myself. While I was doing this, he kept smiling mischievously, there was a time my hand brushed past his hand while serving, He had seductively bit his bow shaped lips and that kind of turned me on.

I wasn’t just physically attracted to him, there was also a Sekxual chemistry.

Lunch was fun with Alex, though our eyes met and held often, he wasn’t distracted but kept making jokes all along, he got along with my mom very well with his comic skills, she also asked him some questions, part of was his tribe.
He was a full blooded Yoruba man. I never knew though, I thought he was an Igbo man. I just hoped he wouldn’t turn out to be a Yoruba demon at the end. Trust me, him being a Yoruba man was a plus. Knowing the kind of mother I had, she would love him more. More than she ever loved James.

After lunch, I cleared the table and joined the duo at the sitting room.

“Thanks for the meal ma. It was very nice, I hope it was prepared by Adetola” ” Yes o, she can cook very well. Infact, anything at all. She can prepare it.” My mom replied and beamed widely at me.

What was that for? I gritted my teeth and surpressed an eye roll.

“Ehnehn, Alex. Now, let’s address the issue at hand” My mom began and shot me a “Where is your phone” look.

I stood up and went inside my room to get my phone. I lunched my messenger app and tapped the unknown number that sent me those messages. I passed the phone to Alex. He read it with a shocked expression on his face. He gave the phone back to me and sighed deeply.

“Ma, I am really very sorry for this, I will ensure it never happens again” He said evasively, his voice was breathy and uneven.

“Alex, Is there someone in your life? If there is, I will suggest you stick to her and reduce your outings with my daughter so that this other girl won’t see her as a rival and there will be unnecessary competitions. Moreover, this lady doesn’t seem like she’s joking, she might be more dangerous than we think” my mom said. I watched him closely, there was no expression what so ever. He appeared blank and plain with no emotion obvious in his face.
