SAME NIGHT IN THE FOREST

Thelma remained on Steve thighs looking at him quietly. She knew Steve's recent statement wasn't for her but for her sister, Stella. "Steve?" she called.

Steve looked at her face again waiting to hear what she would say. Then Thelma continued, "What would you have done if i was the one taken by the gunmen instead of my sister?"

"Stella.." Steve began staring at her. "You have always been there for me, even when your father instructed never to see you again. You have always believe in me" he paused.

"Thanks, but you've not answered my question" Thelma said.

Steve averted his eyes from her but looked at her again saying, "I don't know what i would have done if you were the one taken by the gunmen, but i would have done everything just to rescue you, even if it would have cost my life"

"Why?" Thelma was still inquisitive.

"Because... hum.. because..."

"Is okay" Thelma interrupted him, she turned her face towards his stomach and closed her eyes knowing fully well that Steve was in love with Stella who she claims to be.

Steve looked at her and slid her hair backward in a way he saw her ear. "I must find your sister immediately we leave this forest, okay?" he said but Thelma kept quiet.

MRS HENRY'S RESIDENT

Faith wasn't at home when Justice came looking happy. Though, he didn't come because of her but Celestina. He saw her entering their house from his taxi then he rushed out with the big envelope. "Cele baby!" he shouted before Celestina gradually turned. "Guess what, i have just been hired for a better job!"

Celestina first disdained him and kept walking, but she suddenly turned and asked. "What job?"

"Still driving job but in a higher level" Justice drew closer to her again. "Listen, this time around I'll definitely take good care of you with my pay. Just accept me, i love you so much.."

"I'm sorry, we can't be together. I already have someone in mind. I think i have told you this before. This should be the last time you disturb me. Excuse me!" she disdained him again and walked inside the house. Justice couldn't do anything but stared at her sadly.

THE NEXT DAY

As usual, Celestina went back to Mr Stanley's resident. All were in the sittingroom, even Adam. Suddenly, at the gate, the gateman opened the gate after hearing a knock. He fell on the floor, stood up instantly and ran into the sittingroom breathing heavily.

"Babangida, what is it?!" Mrs Stanley asked in a hurry.

"Why are you breathing as if you're being pursued by an antelope? Well, whatever it is, i hope it's a utilitarianism"Adam added.

"Oga your son..." Babangida, the gateman began then all stood up curiously and anxiously.

"My son what?" Mr Stanley asked.

"Oga your son is back" Babangida replied.

"Heehh!" all shouted and rushed outside.
Celestina was the first to run out. She saw Steve holding Thelma's hand and walking slowly.
When Steve saw her coming, he left Thelma's hand and hugged her.

"Baby, thank God you're back!" Celestina said.

"My son!" the mother approached.

"Mum!" Steve hugged her too.

Only Mr Stanley stood behind smiling with Adam by his side. However, Thelma had been feeding her eyes with the beauty of the house and environment. She could see flowers and cars of different colours. She looked beside her just to see a swimming pool and other small resting buildings. Meanwhile, Steve had gotten to his father.

"Thank goodness, you're back" Mr Stanley hugged his son.

"This cause for a celebration!" Adam began. "I have never for once doubted the unimpeachable philosophy of realism by Aristotle who inculcated in individual effectively to search for things in material universe to authenticate their existence" he looked at Steve and shook his hand. "The real blood of your father runs in your vein" he added.

"Thanks prof" Steve replied and looked back to see Thelma standing at a distance and admiring the building. "Stella" he called then Thelma approached. Celestina took a look at her from head to toe but averted her eyes.

"Dad, this is Stella" Steve said.

"Who is she? How did you even end up being kidnapped?"

"Kidnapped?" Steve questioned..

Several minutes later, all were at the dining table eating. Celestina didn't like Thelma's presence obviously as she sat beside Steve.
However, Steve had narrated his story on how his plane crashed and found himself on an unknown land where a lady killed and detained people.

"I think is the same lady who has been arrested" Mr Stanley said then Thelma and Steve looked at him.

"Dad, are you saying the truth?" Steve asked.

"Yes, she confessed about her stupid experiment with dead people and you being escaped"

"Did the police rescue the other people?" Thelma asked.

"Yes, and some dead bodies were taken to the mortuary"

Hearing that, Steve stood up. "I'm going to the police station now!" he said angrily.

"I'm following you" Thelma also stood up then Celestina disdained her...
