Alice looked at the crying girl and was at loss as to how to console her. She felt the girl’s pain and really felt like killing Gilbert. He was a monster, a demon, a devil incarnate!
‘i was a virgin, he was the one who deflowered me, i swear!’ Maria said in tears.

Alice shook her head, what Maria was telling her was the complete opposite of what Gilbert had told her. He had admitted that he raped her but he had said that when he raped her, she wasnt a virgin. And after then, she kept coming back for more and they were even dating.

Alice moved closer and wrapped her arms around her ‘its okay my dear, i believe you. Gilbert is one big liar!’

‘its okay dear, it would be fine. I would speak to your dad, Gilbert is not suffering enough’

‘but i’ve not seen my period’
‘how late are you?’
‘about two weeks’
‘my God!’ Alice murmured. ‘its still too early. Maybe, you’ve been eating too much of sugary things and maybe all the food you’ve been eating are manifesting now’
‘thats a flimsy excuse and you know that’
‘Maria but seriously, its too early to judge, its not been up to a month you’ve havent seen your period, its just two weeks. There was a time i didnt see my period for two months, but i wasnt pregnant. Most times its caused by stress’
‘what work did i do that stressed me?’
‘stress differs. It might be emotional stress that is wrong with you. You might be thinking about the possibility of you being pregnant’

‘then why am i adding weight?’
Alice looked around ‘take a look around your room and around this house, look at how comfortable it is, how luxurious it is, tell me, who wont get fat with this kind of luxury huh?’
Despite the tears, Maria chuckled ‘you are pulling my legs?’
Alice smiled ‘you are not pregnant Maria, i assure you that’
‘thanks for giving me hope’ Maria said wiping her tears ‘promise me you wont tell my dad?’
‘even though its not right, i promise you’
‘thanks’
Alice stood up and looked at her wrist watch ‘i should get going before your dad comes back from work and meets me here’
‘okay’
Alice smiled and picked up her bag, ‘take care of yourself’
Maria nodded with a little smile.

Alice walked to the door but stopped when Maria stopped her ‘thanks but i still hate you’
