And Gilbert went ahead to explain everything. How Gina and Benjamin had made out in secondary school and how Gina had concieved and didnt want Benjamin to find out about it. And how she had made him promise never to tell anyone who impregnated her.

By the time he was through, Abby was in tears.
‘no wonder……no wonder i always felt comfortable around him. And look….we even have the same….same birth mark on our chest.

And the same gap tooth. Uncle, why didnt you tell me?’

Ximena picked her food while sending angry glances at Alice. Ximena felt like picking the cutlery knife and stabbing the living hell out of Alice. Why and how did she leave prison for crying out loud?

She was very close to getting Tony and Alice chose that time to be released. Fool!
Why didnt she get the things she always wanted in life?
‘Alice,’ she called dropping her spoon and breaking the silence ‘did you escape from prison or you were released?’ She asked even though she already knew.

Alice eyed her ‘what sort of a stupid question is that Ximena abi Simena?’

Alice had been aware of all the hateful glances Ximena had been sending her way. And she was going to teach her a lesson. Its high time every one knew she could be crazy sometimes.

Including Maria.
‘i just wanted to know if i’m safe around you or not. I heard you killed someone. And you attempted killing Maria. I wont be surprised if something else happens here’ Ximena said.
‘should i tell you the truth? You are not safe around here. You are NOT SAFE. So better pack your bags and go back to your goddamn country alright?’

Ximena laughed ‘you are in no position to fuc.king tell me when and when not to go’
‘oh yeah? You want to dare me right? The rumor about me killing someone didnt just come out of the blue you know. Its because some people know how crazy i can be. So they chose to have me locked up. Killing you wont be a rumor. Its going to be reality!’
‘you are nothing but a bloody killer!’
‘ENOUGH!’ Tony said hitting the table with his fist ‘whats this all about? Ximena, i wont tolerate you insulting Alice okay? She didnt kill anyone, it was all a set up’
‘in every rumor, there must be an atom of truth. There’s something about this girl that just doesnt add up and……’
‘Ximena’ Maria said ‘dont insult Alice okay. She didnt kill anyone, she might be anything but not a killer’
Alice was shocked. Maria was defending her? It was unbelievable!

Ximena stood up and left the table angrily.
There was silence on the table again. Everyone to his or her own thoughts.

Tony left the table for his room after finishing his meal, leaving Maria and Alice on the table.
‘Maria, thank you’ Alice said softly.

Maria eyed her ‘for what?’ she asked coldly.
‘for defending me against Ximena. I really appreciate it’
‘look Alice, i do not want to create wrong impressions here. That i said the truth does not mean i like you okay? And i really hope we dont talk to each other again, i beg of you. Should i go on my knees for you? If you are going to keep talking to me in this house, then we are going to have serious problems. And if you going to thank me for every little nonsense that happens, then know that i wont interfere in your business again.

Have i made myself clear?’ Maria hissed and left the table angrily.
