Must Read: I Have Done Some Great Bad Things - Season 1 - Episode 56

Me and Ifeoma continued to wander
around the bush while i continued to look for
anything that will give me a Clue to the right
direction,that will lead us home…Darkness was
setting in as fast as it could…The more pitiable
thing about the Whole situation is that Ifeoma
who i was supposed to be looking upto,was the
one looking upto me,and clinging to me as if i
was her Elder brother or something..Instead of
Pitying for myself or for the both of us,i pitied
her the more…It was whilst in this pity state
that i percieved a smell,and the smell was
familiar…I Searched for where the smell was
coming from,and i found it…It was nothing
other than a dead Hawk..Yes,a dead Hawk,and i
killed it the previous saturday…I wasnt really
Sure if it was the Hawk that led us to that Wolf
that day,but my instincts told me it was…I said
to Ifeoma,”echetala m kpa anyi shi ala”(I have
remembered our way home)…”ikwuru eziokwu
odii?”,ifeoma asked me with excitement,i
nodded in Affirmative…

I led her through the Bush and told her not to
panick,whatever happens..She nodded in
Affirmative…Its even a pity that Ifeoma had
forgotten that She came to this Adventure with
his brother Eunan,and she didnt speak of
him…I Guess we were all on our own…After
retracing our steps and wallowing through the
bush in order to come out to the main Farm
Road,we later found the Boy that had left us
previously…I bet this dude must have been
going round and round the bush,because when
we saw him sitting beside the tree,He was too
damn terrified(But i must say,he really
frightened us)…At this point in time,it was pure
darkness everywhere,and we relied on the dim
light that the half-moon displayed for
guidance…No matter the courage i must have
displayed in leading Ifeoma and that guy,i was
really really Terrified…I remembered the
Promise i made to Amara,i remembered my
Grandma…Chai! My Grandma! How will she feel
if something bad happened to her Dear beloved
Grandson…Tears started rolling down my
eyez,but thanks to the darkness,They didnt see
my tearz….But the only thing that kept me
going was the Fact that Wolves are the most
dangerous animals i guessed,that we could see
around here..But so far,no wolf yet….Whatever
other thing that we must have percieved that
night was caused by our fearz…..

After walking for upto 2mins or so,we came out
of a road..After examining the road carefully,all
of us concluded that that was the road that
leads straight to my Primary School,but with
shortcuts to my own Kindred…Both of them
(Ifeoma and the guy) Hugged me,and thanked
me,and Ifeoma reiterated her earlier statement
of Trusting me,to my own delight…

Now,we have found the way home,but the
Journey is still a long way off
home.

We started on our journey back home,in
that Long Track road…In my mind,i kept
praying that nothing bad should happen to
us…The journey should take upto 40mins or
50mins cuz we were Trekking…But our fearz
delayed the whole thing…At some Point,Ifeoma
started singing:

“Ave Maria Oh maiden oh Mother..

Kindly thy Children are calling Upon thee…

Thine are The Graces unclaimed by Another…

Sinless and beautiful star of the Sea…

Mater Amabilis,Ora Pro nobis,pray For thy
Children who call unto thee…………..”The song
was catchy and b4 i knew it,i have joined her in
the song..The other guy didnt know it,so he just
walked along…Even though our voices were
Low,it still re-echoed into the night…We kept
singing songs after songs as we walked home
When we heard a strange noise nearby…We
froze,and after some Seconds,a guy rushed out
immediately and told us to run for our
lives…This was the same guy that wanted to Kill
the Deer previously…Hmmmm..i was even
surprise that he is not at home yet…I Thought
he knew the way…..We,started running
immediately Homewards…We didnt know what
was pursuing him,but since a huge and grown
up guy is running away,and told us to run
too,without telling us what was pursuing
him,we all ran along with him…On a second
thought,i told Ifeoma and the boy with us that
we should stop,before we get lost again…

They stopped…On seeing that we have stopped,the
Guy that started the run stopped too…We
waited to see what was actualy Pursuing
him…He said it was a wolf as he came
along,and i laughed gently…Seriously,after that
day we killed that Wolf,i stopped being afraid of
Wolves..I Feared dogs more…

Not Longer than 2mins has passed when the
supposed Wolf came running to where we
were…To our Greatest Surprise,What was
pursuing him was a dog,a lost dog i must
say,and it looked like Whisky(Nedu’s family
dog)…We all couldnt help but Laugh…The dog
came along with us after Barking heavily and
we calmed it down…For the first time,i was not
afraid of a dog….We now trekked in company of
the dog and the older guy…We finally arrived at
the Shortest way to my Kindred,but we couldnt
follow it…Rumurs had it that the road alwaz
swarms with Evil spirits,and we didnt know the
time yet…We unanimously agreed to Go and
Crash at the Catholic Church,cuz it is near my
Primary School too,and then go in the morning
to our respective homes….We reached the
Church five minutes later,and when someone
later peeped through to see whats the time at
Wall Clock in the Church,it relayed 1:30a.m…….
