Must Read: I Have Done Some Great Bad Things - Season 1 - Episode 55

Immediately i told Amara about
it,Amara turned Mother,Big Aunt,father,Sister
and What have u; on me…Amara started telling
me the dangers of what i did,and so many
other Prep talks…Hmmmmm..Well,i wasnt really
lying when i said the Room reminded of
Nkiru..What Amara did is exactly what Nkiru
would have done, but she will later congratulate
me and make me happy after her
Rebuke..Amara wasnt like that..The whole
thought of The things a wolf can do to a human
being had eaten her up,and she didnt even
want to hear how it all happened..She said it
will infuriate her the more…

This is somebody that just enjoyed her self right
now,all of a sudden, she is all moody and
infuriated..I didnt want the situation to get past
as it is,so i asked her what should i do for her to
make her happy…She looked at me smiled and
said, “agakwala udi ije ahu ozo..o!”(Dont
embark on such journey again..o!)….
School started again on Monday as usual, and
we would dress up every morning, eat and go to
school..I went with my new Bicycle throughout
the week to which many people
appreciated..Some even paid me to ride in my
bike, others(my close pals) rode for free…They
keep telling and saying that i am
lucky…..hmmmm..wish i am that Lucky these
days…

Collins,as usual passed me the current
trend..He said many of our kindred people will
be going to Pick “Ololo wee”(this is an
animal, but it is in the Form of A Catterpillar of a
Butterfly..)..This “Ololo wee” is picked or allowed
to fall from the trees from which they are
usually found..There is alwaz a season for them
(ololo wee),and this time was its
season….Normally,when u reach to a tree
where the “Ololo wee” is,all u had to do is call
their name “ololo wee” and they will fall in their
50’s and hundreds into whatever you were
carrying to catch them…They are too
proud, and Whenever you call their name, their
pride will enter their head and they wont know
when they fall(This is the Elder’s of the Land
Theory)..Well,we never know,they(elders) might
be correct…..
Secondly,after Picking the “Ololo wee”,We
would now Embark on “ifo Ero”(Mushroom
Plucking/Picking)…..

When the hassles of weekdays were
over,Saturday finally came and everybody who
was interested to go for that Picking stuf came
out…After deliberation on the places to go,an
agreement was reached…We later started
On,on the Journey which later proved to be a
Life threatening one…

We all embarked on our Picking Journey, and
two people seems to be heading the way as our
leaders, and probably as our Guardians because
they were older than all of us..As usual,we
passed our farm(Uhu) and journeyed deeper
into the bush as we chatted, while some others
cracked jokes…My mates that were with us on
the journey were Collins,Eunan,Eunan’s elder
sister(Ifeoma),and Chibuike…I Called Eunan’s
sister my mate cuz we rapport a lot very well
even though she is just a year older than me…

After about twenty minutes walk amidst
chats,we came to a halt when someone pointed
to Trees that “Ololo wee” is assumed to
be…Everybody immediately rushed to the trees
to secure 1st or second position in
front, otherwise, you will be picking the tiny ones
that fell on the Ground…There were about five
trees full of them, and we circled all of the Trees
as we started Calling out “ololo wee” in a fine
tuned voice, while some people will respond
“Saram”….As expected,they started falling into
our Waiting Baskets and Buckets and small
Basins….it wasnt long before they stopped
falling, and we moved on….We came to Another
place too,did the same thing and they fell
too….We did this almost in four Consecutive
places before some people started saying we
should go for Mushrooms, that time is going….At
this juncture,Everybody brought out the Nylon
or Sack Bag they Carried and Poured the “ololo
wee” inside it,and we moved on….

We went deeper into the Bush, because
Mushrooms grow in cool and largely
decomposed leaves area, and far from the Lights
of the Sun,because the trees around shades
them…Only in such places will you find them in
large quantities, and it is even eaten raw cuz of
its taste and size…Am not saying Mushroom’s
can’t grow around homes anyway, all am saying
is that the better ones grow in the bush,in
company of their brothers, and in Large
quantities…Someone sighted the Mushroom ‘s
and we all rushed to the place to Pick
them…One good thing about Mushroom’s is
that once you see a group of them,be sure
plenty more are all around…When we reached
there,we scattered around but not far from
each other as we picked and picked and Picked
to our Satisfaction…Meanwhile,we all have
forgotten that the Bush we were crawls with
dangerous animals,wolves inclusive,and the day
Was ending,evening was approaching….While
we were still picking the Mushroom somebody
Shouted “Mgbada o”(A deer/antelop),and
people dropped their bags and started Pursuing
the Deer with their cutlass….How i wish they
had let it be!
They kept pursuing it(i didnt join
them),and with the way the Deer ran,you would
know that the animal was injured…On a Very
good day,you dont even try to chase a deer in
the bush…You will either end up injuring
yourself,or you would realise later that you have
been stupidd all along whilst chasing it….
As one person was about to Give the Deer a
heavy Matchete cut after they must have ran
about for 2mins or so,somebody Shouted
“Jesus!!”..It made the person holding the
matchete release his hand immediately and
take to his heels…What the person that
shouted “Jesus” saw was a very large huge
snake, and the guy that wanted to Matchete the
Deer saw it too, prompting him to drop his hand
and run away,shouting “agwo o agwo o”(Snake
o,snake o) as he came across us,took his Sack
bag and ran away, same with the other
guy….Seriously,i hate snakes, and am sure is
the same for most people, but the way that guy
ran and shouted made me and other people
laugh…I mean, this was somebody who was
chasing a Handicapped Deer with his Might and
Strenght, but now he is running away from a
Crawly Creature that can only Bite or
Swallow….They were even two guys,so why
couldnt they kill the snake…This was what me
and Eunan,Collins,and Chibuike kept saying
amidst laughter When we heard a thud and a
heavy noise nearby…O boy! Nobody had time
to Carry the Buckets or Baskets or Basins full of
Mushrooms, but we just took the Nylons
containing the “Ololo wee” and took to our
heels…This was the point at Which many of us
got Separated…
Not everybody knew their way around that
bush, but people like me,Collins and our two
Supposed leaders knew the area very well…I
dont know about the others….

We(Me and Eunan’s sister,plus another boy like
that) ran and ran and ran,and i even got
confused along the way,cuz instead of coming
out of the bush,it seemed as if we were going
deeper and deeper into it…Time was not even
friendly this time,as darkness has started to Set
in small small…As we continued to find a way to
a footpath to lead us to a main farm road, from
whence we could find our way home again,we
started percieving and hearing some
mysterious noise around us..This got the three
of us terrified, and what came into my mind that
moment was the movie “Igodo”…The place we
were at that particular moment makes a good
setting for it……

The Guy or boy with us later said he is finding
his own way home…I was terrified the more,i
know the guy didnt know the way or the
bush, and something bad could happen to
him,so i wished he would have given us more
company, plus the fact that he is older than
us..Also,the fact that the bush in question is my
Kindreds bush makes it even more
dificult….Ifeoma begged him to cling with
us,telling him to trust me that i will find a
way,but he refused and ran away….Ifeoma got
confused i guess…Between the older boy and
me,she was looking for who to follow in her
mind, but she finally decided to come with
me…Meanwhile,on my own,i know i cant get
lost in that bush…i have been there many
times, but the problem is that i missed a
clue, and i had to find it as soon as
possible, else,we are doomed to sleep in that
bush that night, and Who knows what might
happen.
