I rushed into the bathroom, took my bath and dressed for the journey. We walked out of the compound to the bank where i withdrew some money from the ATM after which we branched in a shop where i bought some gift for Tracy.

We boarded a taxi to the address that Frank gave to the cab driver. We sat down silently as the started the ignition, the fare actually cost me N1, 5 00 because of the distance.

The driver dropped us at the street that led to their house. We began to trek the remaining distance; their house was too far from where i live and was located at the outskirt of the town though the area was developed with beautiful buildings, the people living there were still scanty.

We gisted as we walk and were too engrossed that we couldn’t notice that a car was approaching from the back. It was too late for us as we attempted to jump off the road and the left side of the new Camry hit us.

I didn’t feel any pain or feel like i sustained any injury. Frank was seated on the bare ground obviously in pain but the car driver wouldn’t let me to check if he was injured with his rant obviously in a drunken state
DRIVER: what are you people discussing that you couldn’t hear me horning? Two of you must be very stupid.

He said as he got out of his car and began to stager around his car obviously checking if his car was damaged. The d--n driver didn’t care if the people he hit was injured or not. When he was done inspecting his car, he began to walk to us with his rant
DRIVER: if you people would have damaged my car, i would have made sure that both of you will spend the rest of this Christmas in the police cell
He continued ranting as he walked past us smelling like a dump of s--t. I just kept on starring at him as he walked and rant. I was just too furious but couldn’t talk anything because the man was busy acting free drunken funny movies. The man will take three steps forward and two steps backward, i wondered when the man will reach where he was going; i began to control my laugh when i noticed that the man was moving toward an uncompleted building leaving his car behind.
When the man was out of sight, i looked at Frank and discovered that he was in serious pain. He was holding his arm while his leg bleeds seriously. I wanted to move but discovered that my leg cannot move. I looked down at my right leg and discovered that my trouser was torn along my flesh exposing my inner body. The blood was gushing out but i still managed to walk to frank; his arm was dislocated while his leg has a minor injury
ME: i am sorry
FRANK: i know that you will be because you bring me here to get this **he said in quite, cold and angry tone**
ME: please i am sorry, i know that i brought this to you but it is not my fault **i replied pleadingly**
FRANK: i know. There is their house **he said pointing at a house in a little distance** we need to reach there and clean ourselves a little because i cannot return to town like this
ME: you are right. Stand up let me help you
FRANK: you help me? Your leg is badly injured and it is my hand that is paining me, so i am the one that is supposed to help **he said**
He stood up get hold of my hand and tossed it around his neck. I wanted to move but discovered that my injured leg cannot move again, the pain that it generated was so severe that i would have slump to the ground if not for the sake of frank that get hold of me firmly
FRANK: we need to visit any hospital for treatment
ME: have to clean up a little. I will call our family doctor immediately we reach home
FRANK: then try to move your leg so that we can reach their house then
I lifted my leg and it freezes immediately it was in the air, i left it in the air until the pain reduced. I began to walk like a child learning how to walk with the aid of frank. We keep walking slowly until we reached their house
Tracy was surprise when she got out of their house to see us in our state. She stood speechlessly staring at us with her mouth wide opened. Her face shows confusion and surprise
ME: please get us a seat please **i replied staring at her**
TRACY: please pardon my manners, come in please
FRANK: just get us the seat; we can’t enter the house with this blood, so it will be better if we remain outside
She quickly rushed into the house and in no time, she emerged with two plastic chairs. She dropped the chairs while we both sat down and she returned into the house. She re-emerged with a bowl of water and a towel
She cleaned the blood on our injury and dried it both my trouser remained blood stained. She returned the bowl and towel.
TRACY: what happened to both of you?
ME: we were hit by a car on our way here
TRACY: but you never told me you will be visiting
ME: wanted to make it a surprise
TRACY: why would you take such risk?
ME: i was missing you too much and decided to pay you a visit
TRACY: but we spoke on phone every time
ME: yea i know that. Don’t you miss my presence?
TRACY: i…i do but just take a look at both of you; this shouldn’t have happened if you haven’t taken the risk of coming here
ME: that makes no sense. I take the risk for the sake of whom i love, whom i cherished, whom i cared for and not for someone ordinary
Frank hasn’t said anything since we were talking. He was just busy staring at his phone
TRACY: i am sorry. Let me get you something to eat
ME: don’t bother
TRACY: and you frank, won’t you take anything?
FRANK: thank you, i am okay **he replied with a forced smile**
TRACY: that can’t be. You guys come all the way here, involve in an accident along the line only to come here and refuse to eat or take anything
ME: we are just okay and nothing more
TRACY: that is an insult on me. It is just unfair
ME: don’t mean to insult you. Got this for my baby **i said with smile as i handed her the packaged gift.**
TRACY: i won’t accept your gift if you refuse my food
ME: but we are not into any deal. The gift is meant for you and the food is not meant for us since you never expected us
TRACY: i don’t care. That will be 50-50
FRANK: collect that gift joor. If you don’t want it, i will gladly accept it. Moreover, you don’t even know the cost of it and its content
TRACY: come collect it now **she said as she hacked the parcel away from my hand before frank can reach it**
FRANK: you would have refused it now
TRACY: jealousy
We stayed with her for some minutes before we announced our departure and she accompanied us o the main road
