Must Read: Awkward Ways I Met Girls

s*x means different things to different people. For some who savour the beauty of this awesome activity as an expression of love, its love making. To the player, its only a recreational sport.

For Stag, its something special, something purifying. Imagine two bodies, mind and soul fused into one, communicating on a plane only the two can understand, the feeling is something incomprehensible except you have made love in that steamy passionate sense. Its uplifting, an art of the ingenuity of nature.

This was how on the day we made love, Ada redefined love making.

After that night, days rolled into weeks and then months. Ada and I grew into a tight bond. By now, I knew so much about her background, family, her growing up etc. Almost everything that went on in her life, I knew. Her neighbours, friends and even things that happen in her church. She had known my place and had come twice. Two short visits. She had grown very comfortable with me.

We were close.

And yes, Mercy remained a menace.

Myself and the MD had a good relationship too.

Very cordial and I was careful not to do something silly nor abuse the way he took me.

Mr Williams too was a great guy to work with.

In no competition with anyone, we’d drink and hang out together. And while he had many of his lady-friends, I was never forward to want to lay any of them. Even when he introduced and urged me on, I declined. If I did, the way we related would become flawed. And over the time, he had come to develop some kind of respect for me, even though I was not his level. But he knew I had restraints. Same restraint I had noticed in him…

‘Cos Real Recognise Real.

Work, work and Ada made my life some fun in those times. Ada showed care and love. She looked forward to me, I could see. We went out a lot. To beaches, malls, cinemas, sometimes as boring as public lectures she got invited to.

Ada had some powerful friends too. Yet, her humility was profound.
Then came Christmas, then came the night…

The company always had series of events for Christmas. Sharing of gifts, end of the year party and awards night.

The sharing of gifts was a nice gesture to each other. Names are written on small folded pieces of paper and put in a bowl. Each person picks a name from the bowl, buys a gifts, wraps and puts it under the lit Christmas tree by a corner in the office. On the last day of work for the year, there’s a little merry. And everyone goes to pick whichever has their names on it. Nobody knows who gave which gift.

At a later date, there’s an end of year party and award night managed by events planners and held away from the office premises, at event centres. Clients, prospecting clients, acquaintances are invited. Members of staff also comes with their family and friends.

We all warmed up to that day and when the D-Day arrived, I wore a new black suit I had bought for the occasion.

The MD was looking great in a tuxedo, with his bow tie. He had come alone because his family went on vacation to Paris. He had even driven himself. Although he looked really nice, I just never understood that concept of a bow tie! Wtf?!
Well, it was his day so he had to look all nice to impress.

All eyes may have been on him until this stunning lady appeared at the entrance and all eyes glowed in her beauty! It was Ada!!!

Ada was smashing hot! She looked somewhat like a goddess. She was in a black gown. Her ears, neck and wrists were adorned with silver.

In her characteristic light make up and natural hair, her skin glowed under the well illuminated room, this lady definitely stole the night! And she had come alone.

I smiled wit pride.

She took a seat among the Heads who sat by the MD.

The evening went on well. There was a lot of merry, eating, drinking, dancing and laughter.

There was wine, canned beer and the MC was hilarious! After the serious part, people could be seen socialising, drinking, talking and laughing. I didn’t drink alcohol at all. It was my first time at an event with this company and didn’t want to misbehave at all. I could get high and go toast someone I shouldn’t. Lol. Throughout the hall people were in circles, talking. Colleagues introduced their families and friends to one another and had small chats, standing in circles.

Ada had won an award. The best Head of Department. Worth celebrating and yes, it was well celebrated.

I was standing with Ada and two other people, having fun when a colleague came to tap me that the MD asked for me to come. I wondered what he wanted to see me for.
When I got to him, he asked if I could take him home. He explained he wasn’t much of a drinker and the little he had taken was beginning to take a toll on him. One glance at him, clearly, he had had a bit too much to drink. Quietly, we left the hall, not telling anybody.

I didn’t know where he lived, so he described. We got in. A Range Sport is definitely some beast on wheels. I drove him home. He sat in front with me, at least I wouldn’t look like a driver. I was a bit uncomfortable though, not knowing what to say. But by the time I even left the event centre, he had dozed off. He was really exhausted and drunk!

By the time, I got to the gate of the estate he lived, the security guys would want to know where I was going before they opened the gate, but as I made to tap him, the gate began to open wide. I shrugged, they must know who it was by the SUV alone, I guess.

I had to tap him up, although drowsiness wasn’t letting him be, he described the way to his house. Once the horn sounded, his gates opened and I dropped him. He got down and staggered to the door so I went to help him in. He had workers on duty to assist him so I decided to leave.

I had to walk all the way back to the estate gate, once out, I took a taxi back.

Ada had called when she noticed I wasn’t anywhere to be found. So I explained to her and she waited for me. By the time I returned, the event was gradually winding down.

I met Ada with a glass of Chadonnay. She seemed excited when she saw me and we decided to leave.
“Just follow me, no questions”
“Yes His Imperial Majesty” she laughed
Tables had drinks on them, many still not opened.

I grabbed a bottle of wine from a nearby table as we made to leave.
“You’re using me to do yeye, abi?”
“Do yeye ke?, I’m a loyal subject o” she laughed hysterically.
Hmmm… Tonight, my Royal Wand of Wonders was ready for some action tonight!
Outside, she hadn’t parked too far from me. We backed out into the road, I was in front and without much ado, we headed to my place…
