Must Read: Awkward Ways I Met Girls

The Lamb and The Grey falcon.

Bibi had just arrived. As she usually stayed, I guessed she’d stay a couple of days with her lover, Rumie. Both have been dating about a year now.

Rumie the ever lovable girl. So full of life and outgoing. Very cheerful and had a really charming personality. She is a last born. And from a wealthy home. I guess its because of her S#xual orientation that made her take a room away from home. Her brother comes around once in a while. I think she has a sister in the UK and another brother in Germany. Anyways, the aura around her was always so loving that people liked to be around her. This is one reason I always wondered why she and Clara were cold to each other. Rumie would never fight anyone. She always had enough jokes and smiles to go round.

She loved to tease and taunt Jay a lot.

Quite a kind heart too. Once, she had paid a little girl’s school fees.

There’s a woman we call mummy-Ade who sells petty stuff at a shop closeby on the street.

Snacks, soft drinks et al. Sometimes, we all hang out there. You know, a boring saturday or sunday evening. We just sit there, chatting and watching the hustle and bustle of Lagos Life.

Rumie hadn’t gone out on this particular weekday and happened to be at the shop when bisola, a JSS 2 girl returned home from school, crying. She had been driven out for not paying her school fees and exams were approaching. Her mom didn’t have the money. Rumie had returned later in the evening and given mummy-ade the fees for bisola’s school and had added a little extra. After a very long time, we didn’t get to hear this from Rumie herself but from the appreciative mother.

This is Rumie.

Jay was a rather la!d back kind of guy. Apart from the basic things guys do, Jay was cool. Have a few bottles when needed, loves football and can defend Chelsea, Mourinho and Drogba with all he’s got. Always making noise about ‘The Blues’, lolz. A real jolly fella. Tell him “abeg come follow me go somewhere, I nno wan go alone”, he’d simply just go inside, wear a shoe and ready to go anywhere with you. A solid soldier.

He’d camp a girl once in a while cos he didn’t have a gf. He hits the club whenever he can. Jay loved to club.

Jay was a real niccur. He could help you keep your girl busy while you’re with another. And wouldn’t hit on her. Real honest brodah. Real to the bones!

Ok, so I was outside the gate when Bibi arrived
“What’s up Bibi”
“Hi my love! Did u miss me? Don’t lie”
“No”
The look on her face changed
“But you said I shouldn’t lie na”
“Yes, but u could have been a bit more romantic about the No”
I laughed out loud.

“So that Rumie would kill me abi?”
“Rumie doesn’t care what we say to ourselves”
Hmmmm…

Bibi went inside. I turned to have a clearer view of her. I could bet a kobo that she knew I was looking at her. Somehow, I began to realize that Bibi could be bi. With the little that had transpired the other time, it was becoming more obvious.

I mean she had once come for scrabble board and was ,supposedly, intentionally giving me a good view of her rear assets.

Well, she’d be around for some days. And hopefully I would find out. It was thursday. She’d probably leave on sunday. That will be enough time…
