Must Read: Awkward Ways I Met Girls

Yetunde and I greeted but she was kinda cold. Almost sulking.

But she later loosened up and we got talking.

She told me she and the guy had been only friends all this while. But good friends. They have only started dating proper with intention to marry. I guess that’ll make their relationship a little more serious. Then if they are compatible enough, they continue with the arrangements.

This was a bit different kind of relationship. I asked her
“So what happens if you are not compatible? You just stop wearing the ring?”
“I decided not to wear a ring. Although he has proposed and people know, the day we agree to go ahead with all that stuff I’d start to wear it”
“And he’s okay with it?”
“Yes”
Wow! Funny as it sounds, it kinda makes sense. Only that there’s a possibility of one or both partner faking the love just for the purpose of getting married.

I asked her why she said yes to the guy. According to her, he’s an okay guy. A really good guy with a good heart but not rugged enough for her.

Rugged in what sense?
“Don’t ask me”
Lol.

She told me of her resolution to stop s*x until her wedding.

“Okay. No p. That makes sense” I said
She looked up at me like she expected me to be disappointed at it and convince her otherwise. Well, I was disappointed but a decision like that only showed she still had some compass in her that she wants to put her all into it. Raising her head she said
“I didn’t say now o” with an amusement on her face
“What’s amusing you?”
“Nothing”
Hmmm
She was gisting me of an incidence on her way down when she suddenly stopped. Though I wasn’t looking and expected her to continues the gist when I heard
“Stag?”
I looked up at her.

She was holding up a comb. Same comb Clara had used yesterday.

Gbege!!!

I acted ignorant of what she was getting at. Her face had changed and I could feel the heat she was boiling with.

“What is it?” I asked calmly
“Don’t give me that! Who’s hair is this on the comb”
“How do I know if you used it”
“Don’t give me that Stag! I can’t remember using this. Besides, the hair on it is not my color of hair”
By now she was raising her voice. Almost shouting.

“So you have been screwing that girl abi?” She said almost screaming.

It occured to me that seeing Bibi coming out of my room was the reason for sulking when she first came. She must’ve been having ideas.

“Maybe its a friend’s own that came around yesterday. Seriously, I’m surprised at your reaction. You should first ask calmly”
“Lies Stag! Lies!! The way she came out of the room told me there was more. And I know it. Stag just tell me the truth”
I was quiet. Everywhere was quiet. Each second that passed seemed like a thousand years.

I didn’t like this spot I was right now.

As the seconds crawled by, her mood began to changed. From the initial anger she was becoming more emotional, tears forming in her eyes.

She stoned the comb away on the wall, grabbed her bag and was rushing out when I grabbed her at the door.

She busted into tears in my arms…

I held her from the back, wrapping my arms round her and holding her tightly. She started sobbing. I just held her tight. All I could say was
“Its ok, stop crying”
It was all I found to say. It was all I kept repeating
“Its ok, stop crying”
After some minutes, she began to calm down.

Her tears were beginning to get to me. My heart was beginning to melt at seeing her cry.
“Pull yourself together Yetunde” I tried to console her. And gradually she was calming down
“You know who my heart is with. Deep inside you know. You know what we share. Haba, my own Hera. You know that I love you, you don’t need anyone to say it. You don’t even need me to tell you how your smile flatters me. Calm down my own darling calm down.”

“You are you making a ridicule of me Stag, why?” She said amidst sobs.

This wasn’t the time to give excuses nor start explaining anything
“Shhhhhh, don’t say anything honey. Just calm down…”

“So I’ve been coming here and when I turn my back they will [i]yimu[/] behind me. You didn’t need to make a fool of me”
“Its not what you think it is. Just calm down”
“Tell the truth Stag. Tell me its not true”
“Honey, just calm down and I’ll tell you whatever you want to hear. You should stop crying”
I then started to act like I was getting angry at her crying. Actually, I was.

She now started calming down.

I took her back to the bed and sat her down calmly.

Then calmly I said to her
“Look, I will tell you the honest truth. An old secondary school mate came yesterday. It could have even been Rumie. But its definitely not this her friend you saw. I have absolutely nothing to do with her. She hardly comes in here save maybe twice before. She came for the scrabble board.”

“So why isn’t it Rumie who came for it?”
“Really I can’t answer that cos I don’t know”
She looked down at her fingers like she was trying to consider, scrutinize and weight what I was telling her
“So you mean you are not attracted to her?”
“Yetunde, maybe you should know this: Rumie and her friend are partners.” Yetunde shot me a glance, of shock and disbelief.

“I never thought there was any need ever telling you how much more than the s*x you meant to me. But if you took a stroll to heaven where you find the book of truths, you’d simply come back smiling”
“Just stop it. I’m not in playing mood”
“Just pick me some fresh flowers from heaven”
“Is that supposed to be your own version of a romantic line?”
“Tell me it didn’t give you butterflies in that belly”
She looked like she wanted to laugh. Abruptly ending that path of our conversation, she asked
“Are you really serious about Rumie and this her friend?

Na wa! Women and gossip!!

I discarded the talk with a dismissive answer in the affirmative.

She had now relaxed again and had dropped her bag. Her eyes a bit red. I looked at her.

“Why are you looking at me?”
I didn’t answer. Instead, I walked over to her and kissed her. On the forehead.

When I turned to leave she pulled me back and we kissed. Slow s£nsu@l kiss.

I later went out for a bottle of drink at a supermarket nearby, she came with me. We took a stroll. After buying it and snacks, we decided to chill at a bar and while some time away. I took a bottle of stout, and she tool smirnoff.

She was so real and alive. Chatting, laughing and generally very free. We spent the whole afternoon there before we strolled back home.

She slept soon as we got home. Maybe already a littl tipsy from the smirnoff.

Not quite 5mins later I heard a tap on the door.

Bibi.

She had came to borrow my dictionary that Rumie’s dictionary was not ideal for the game. I gave her and she left.

But as she turned back to go, I caught sight of her backside. Buay!!! This girl has some load o. But why being into girls?

Anyways, an hour later Yetunde had gotten up from her nap and left. I knocked on Rumie’s door and entered.

A game was going on, but the game stopped and we started a new game. Three of us playing. It was fun. Rumie had a premium and still came third. Bibi won. Hmmm.

By the end of the game, I felt closer to them than ever before. Board games are good in bounding.

But Bibi kept giving signs.

Or maybe it was me reading signs where there were none…

I would soon find out.
