Movie Story: Jemeji - Season 1 - Episode 106

At the shrine, Mausi sprinkles some white powder on the ground, making a circle around Akweyon's feet.

Akweyon stands still.
Mausi reminds her that she took her in when the world threw her out.
She gives her a cane and dares her to flog the only mother she has and the only one that cares.
She says memories are like chalk and Akweyon wants to erase what has been written.
Akweyon drops the cane.

Mausi grabs her in a bear hug.
Akweyons looks like she's fighting back tears.
The palmwine tapper who overheard Obi and Dr. Jide's conversation is Sulah.
Obi tells him that whatever he heard is not as it seems.
Sulah bem0ans why he had to hear such a thing.
He says he's finished.
Obi tells him to come down so he can explain to him
Sulah asks if Obi wants him to come down and get killed.

He starts shouting for help saying Miyise is not Miyise and they want to kill him.
Obi tells him to shut up or he will come up.
Sulah loses his balance and falls off the tree.
Otogan's guards are in front of the palace eating.
Half-a-day and his goons arrive.
Half-a-day says his boys will stay and guard the palace.

One of the guards says Otogan hasn't mentioned anything like that to them.
Half-a-day says they are enforcing new laws in Aji and if Otogan has a problem, he should come and look for him.
He leaves and his boys stay behind
Dr. Jide is at the clinic.

Obi calls to tell him what happened.
Dr. Jide asks if he has taken Sulah's phone from him.
Obi asks if he's coming.
Dr. Jide says there is no way they can be seen together under such circumstances.
Obi asks if he should go and get help.
Dr. Jide warns him not to leave Sulah's side.
Obi says he needs help.

Dr. Jide says 'Help, my foot.'
He asks what happens when he recovers.
Matron walks in.
Dr. Jide changes the topic and ends the call.
Seyive and Senami return to the clinic.
Seyive goes into the ward.
Senami asks Matron what she knows about Akweyon like where she's from and why she wears a mask and where Mausi got her from?
Matron says she has come again.

She says she doesn't know where Mausi got her from.
Senami asks if it's always young girls that are Akweyon.
Matron says the one before was also a young girl.
Senami asks what happened to her.
Mausi says she doesn't know, one day they just heard there was a new one

Senami says nobody asked any question as young girls have been disappearing under Mausi's charge.
She asks if Mausi has to always have one.
Matron says since the history of Aji, Mausi has always had one.
Senami says she should be calling the human rights commission.

Matron says Otogan might know.
Senami says in true Otogan fashion, he won't do anything about it because Aji is very corrupt.
Matron tries to explain to her but Senami says what's happening is wrong and standing by without doing anything is just as wrong.
Dr. Jide is shocked to see some villagers carry Sulah into the clinic with Obi in tow.

Senami asks what happened to him.
Obi says he was walking by and saw him as he had fallen from a tree.
Dr. Jide asks if he was conscious at the time and if he said anything.
Senami asks how what he said matters when he's alive and responsive.

Dr. Jide says he will take over the treatment.
Oviyon is at home.
The little boy is sitting in front of him.
He throws his ball to Oviyon.
Oviyon catches it and throws it back.
They continue the game.

Iya Oviyon returns from the market.
She sees Oviyon all by himself throwing and catching an invisible ball.
Oviyon is also talking to himself.
He talks about his useless uncle Fonton who is not as smart as he thinks.

She stares in shock.
Doris has come to the clinic to see her brother, Sulah.
Senami is in the ward, attending to Oviyon's workers.
Dr. Jide walks in and says the clinic is not a market and he needs to be able to attend to Sulah alone, so they need to clear out of the ward.

Doris asks if it includes her.
Jide says especially her as she's wailing and causing a major distraction.
He tells Senami to take the other patients to another room.
They all leave but Obi remains.
Dr. Jide asks if he is out of his mind.
Obi says he had to do something and there was no harm done as he was the only one Sulah spoke to.
Dr. Jide says no harm done would have been perfect if the fall did away with him completely.
Obi stares at him in shock.

Dr. Jide tells him not to look at him like he didn't think about it too.
Obi asks what he's saying.
Dr. Jide asks if he thinks Sulah being awake will serve a good purpose for the months they spent planning everything.
Obi asks if he's saying they should leave him unconscious indefinitely.
Dr. Jide says that will be too expensive and someone might find out like that nosy doctor Senami.
He gives Obi a syringe and tells him to quickly inject it in Sulah's IV.

Obi takes it and grabs Dr. Jide by the collar like he's about to inject him.
Dr. Jides eyes widen with fear.
He stutters and shakes as he asks what Obi is doing.
Obi says he's lucky that he's not like him.
He throws the syringe and crushes it under his foot before leaving the ward.

One of Otogan's guards tells Half-a-day's goons to leave the palace.
More of the goons arrive and ask what's going on.
The guards tell them that they were never informed about this development.
Half-a-day's right-hand man tells him to go and get them drinking water.
The guard says it's his mother that will get him water.
The guards and the goons face off and almost come to blows.

Otogan comes out of the palace.
He sends one of his guards togoand get Miyise and Fonton.
Senami asks Obi if he's okay.
He says he just hopes Sulah will be okay.
Senami says he will and he has Obi to thank for that.
Obi asks her if she has seen Folake.
Senami says they are giving each other a little space.

Dr. Jide comes out and says the patient is still unconscious but stable.
The guard rushes in to tell Obi that Otogan wants to see him.
Dr. Jide tells Obi to go and not to worry as he will look after the patient.
Half-a-day's boys tell Otogan that they are safe guarding him based on the instructions they received.

He tells him to safe guard Aji and not him, so they should leave.
They say they can't leave based on the instructions.
Otogan asks who gave the instructions.
They say it's General Half-a-day.
He gives them a count of five to leave.

The right-hand man says Otogan shouldn't start what he can't finish.
Otogan grabs him by the neck and throws him flat on his back.
The goons stare in shock.

Otogan asks for his gun.
He says he won the wrestling championship in 1987 and 1988; he didn't win for shooting but he might start today as he will shoot all of them.
They run off.

Iya Oviyon comes to the shrine to beg Mausi to help Oviyon as he's been talking to himself lately.
Mausi asks why he didn't come himself.
Iya Oviyon says Mausi knows how he can be.
Mausi says he doesn't need to come as he knows where his problems originate from.
Iya Oviyon says she doesn't understand.

Mausi says Oviyon needs to loosen the rope for his problems to go away.
Iya Oviyon asks where the rope is so she can go and take it off herself.
Obi enters the palace.

Otogan is seated on his throne with his eyes closed.
Obi asks if he's sleeping.
He shakes him gently but Otogan doesn't wake up.
He feels his neck for a pulse and looks shocked.
