Dr. Jide and Obi are outside the palace.
Dr. Jide says a celebration is in order as their job is 70 percent done.
Obi asks when he can leave.
Dr. Jide tells him to keep keeping Chief calm.

Folake comes out of the palace and calls Obi.
Dr. Jide changes the topic and tells Obi to check Otogan regularly.
He leaves.

Folake says if she didn't know better, she'd say Obi and Dr.Jide were besties.
Obi says Dr. Jide is just Otogan's doctor.

Senami is at Kingsley's place.
She smells the perfume he got for her.
He walks in and says he's glad she likes the smell.
She says it's nice.
He says he thought the scent profile suited her very well.
She asks how.
He says the citrus because she's a breath of fresh air in Aji, the Musk because she's a determined and diligent person and the jasmine because underneath the hard exterior she is a thoughtful and genuine person.
She says she never thought of perfume that way.
He asks how she buys them.
She says she's sorry she can't accept the gifts because she doesn't want to give him the wrong impression.
He asks what that is.
She asks why he didn't tell her about the service charge.
He says he thought he was just helping a friend.
She says she just can't.
His facial expression changes and he says if she returns it back to him, it will be insulting so she can give it to Folake and while they are on the topic, she owes him a service charge and he will appreciate an alert by morning and feedback on the documents.
She tries to talk but he stands up and tells her not to tell Folake about the scent profile as he wouldn't want her to have the wrong impression.
He walks away.

Half-a-day's goons are in the palm wine joint, drinking palmwine.
Two of them challenge themselves to a drinking match.
Fonton enters the joint and some of the boys leave.
Fonton complains to one of the boys that he is in trouble with Otogan as the drugs supplied were all expired and he wants the boy to help him ask Half-a-day where he got the drugs.
The goon tells him not to worry himself as he will tell Half-a-day so that they will be more careful next time.
He says anyone selling cheap drugs stole them so if Fonton is interested, he can follow them on their next trip to get the drugs.
Fonton exclaims.

Mausi is performing a ritual at the shrine.
She gives Akweyon the items people donated as offerings, chicken, oil and vegetables.
Akweyon takes them to a corner of the bush.

Mausi calls her back to ask where she went to.
Akweyon points in the direction she took the offerings to.

Peace is going to the market.
Half-a-day stops her to ask where she's going.
She's says she's going to the market as she wants to make soup.
He tells her to bring some for him and his boys when she's done.
She asks if Petunia doesn't give them food.
One of the goons lunges at her but Half-a-day stops him.
He asks if she has paid her levy.
She says she has no job.
He asks why she didn't take the job Petunia was offering her.
She says she doesn't want it.
He asks if she will pay in kind by cooking soup for them.
She doesn't respond.
He says after making this one she should bring it to Fonton's house.

Seyive comes in excitement to see Senami at the clinic.
She says she spoke to her sister and she agreed to do the test.
Senami asks if Akweyon spoke.
Seyive says she doesn't speak ever.
Senami asks if she spoke before Mausi.
Seyive says she did but the gist going around is that she has started communicating with spirits and can no longer communicate with people; some other people say they cut her tongue to prevent her from saying all she has witnessed with Mausi.
Senami says it might he a good idea to try and get her to talk.
Seyive says she has tried that and given up.
She asks when they can come for the test.
Senami says in the evening.

Half-a-day and his boys are drinking in Sulah's joint.
Some of the villagers whisper along themselves that the boys are just drinking instead of guarding the village.
Sulah asks who is guarding the village as they have paid their levies.
Half-a-day asks if he has paid.
Sulah says Doris paid to Petunia.
Half-a-day says only those who pay to him will be regarded and he will issue receipts to them so those who paid to Fonton and Petunia should go to them for their receipts.

Akweyon brings food to Neza in the hut.
Neza complains that it's just white rice and chicken without oil.
He looks at her face and apologises.

Senami and Seyive come to the hut.
Senami asks Akweyon if she can see her pretty face.
Neza asks how she knows she's fine.

Senami brings out a syringe and tells Akweyon that she will have to touch her to take her blood.
Seyive tells Akweyon that Senami is a good person so she needs to relax.
Akweyon is apprehensive.
She points at Seyive.
Senami asks Seyive if she remembers how to take blood.
Seyive nods and Senami gives her the syringe.

Senami and Seyive return to the clinic to meet matron.
Dr. Jide's wife struts into the clinic calling for Jide.
Matron tells her that Jide is not around.

She sees Senami and asks who she is.
Senami says she's a doctor and a corper.
Mrs. Jide asks if she knows the other female corper.
Senami says she knows Folake.
Mrs. Jide asks where she is.
Folake says she doesn't know.
Mrs Jide storms out.

Senami asks what's going on.
Seyive says the woman is a trouble maker.
Matron says she's just what Dr. Jide needs to keep him in line.

Peace brings food to Half-a-day and his boys.
One of the boys teases her and she gets upset.

Petunia comes out to ask what's going on.
Half-a-day tells her that Peace is unable to pay the levy so she is cooking for them instead.

Petunia laughs at Peace and says all she does is to cook, get fat and follow Oviyon about.
Half-a-day and his boys take the food and leave.

Peace waits behind.
She asks Petunia how much she would pay for the job.
Petunia laughs and makes fun of her then goes inside.
She asks if Peace won't come in.
Peace follows her inside.

Iya Francis sees Fonton on the way and asks if he has spoken to Petunia about her yams.
Fonton says once she pays her money, she will get her yams.
She asks if he has Half-a-day's signature because Half-a-day says only receipts with his signature will be valid.
Fonton exclaims then quickly recovers and says Half-a-day is only carrying out his instructions.

Iya Francis tells him that the people who came to Baba Francis' farm forgot something.
She gives him a phone and says it's an expensive one the thieves left behind.
Fonton collects it.
She asks if the thieves are really from Weseee or Lagos.
He tells her to greet her husband at home.

Half-a-day's boys mount the 'toll gate' that's actually a road block.
They stop a car trying to go into Aji.
The driver gets out and they ask him where he's going.
He tells them that he's trying to get to Aji.
They tell him that he has to pay a levy.
He asks when that started.
They raise their voices at him and ask who his passenger is.
Oviyon comes out of the car and asks what's going on.
