Agnes let out a laugh. “That one?” she sarcastically said. “One wouldn’t even tell it’s been less than a week since her child went missing. Last night, she and Mr. Jason went out for dinner and when they came back, she was all smiles. I hear she’s resuming work tomorrow.”

Sitting on a couch and watching Silver Lining on Zee World in my ramshackle, I decided to give Rodgers a call. It was half past 6 PM and it was high time I pulled my next stunt.
“Rodgers,” I said when he picked up. “I want you to take the urn and photos to…” I gave him the address. “Pretend to be a courier man and leave as soon as possible. Make sure the gifts are delivered straight to a woman called Cynthia Chilumba. Clear?”
“Clear.”

An hour later, I was seated on the same couch but this time I had a PC on my laps. I had planted cameras in the kitchen, living room, Jason and Nancy’s bedroom, and Justin and Cynthia’s bedroom.

And now like a surveillance system, I could see all the rooms where I had planted the cameras, on my laptop.

Sipping on my whisky, I watched as Agnes delivered the urn and envelope to Cynthia’s room.

“Who are these from?” Cynthia rudely asked.

“The courier man brought them, he specifically told me to deliver these to you but he didn’t mention the sender.”
“Ok.” Cynthia uninterestedly said, warding Agnes off.

She got the urn and envelopes and sat on her bed. I zoomed in, smiling. I had been waiting for this moment all day.

Cynthia removed the cloth from the urn and she clicked her tongue. “Ashes?” she loudly said. “Who in their right mind sends such?”

She shook her head as she opened the envelope, pulling out the pics. She perused them hurriedly.

Smiling maliciously, I zoomed in further so that I could take time to server the thunderstruck expression on her face.
Cynthia looked from the photos in her hands to the ashes in the urn and to the photos again.

“No.” she said, tears running down her cheeks as she stared intently at the message branded on Justin’s chest.
“Cathy?” she thought out loud. Shaking her head, she let out a piercing scream that forced me to cover my ears. “No!!!” she screamed, sliding from the bed to the floor.
“I’ve seen enough.” I said, smiling wickedly and with a snap, shutting my laptop tight.
